This paper builds on exploring the applications of biomediated pathways to solve geotechnical ***,the state of the art of biological remediation strategies including microbial remediation and phytoremediation have been introduced and critically reviewed in the context of decontaminating the ***,biopolymerisation,biomineralisation and bioneutralisation processes have been depicted with a special emphasis on the applications including but not limited to soil stabilisation,soil erosion prevention,anti-desertification and pH *** of these methods have their own limitations and bottlenecks while scaling up,and these challenges have been summarised and some possible paths to overcome the challenges have also been *** state of the art of electromagnetic(EM)monitoring methods to capture the effects of biomediation on spatio-temporal soil properties are then highlighted as a non-invasive and rapid pathway to track the progress of biomediated soil ***,each of the technologies discussed have been evaluated for their maturity level using the principles of technology readiness level(TRL).A majority of the technologies amounting to around 77%are still in the TRL 4e7,*** the valley of *** is thus evident that development of these technologies needs to be supported with appropriate funding for improving their maturity to a level of industrial deployment.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of Capsosiphon fulvescens(***)ethanolic extract on inflammation in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced RAW296.7 ***:The protective effects of *** ethanolic extract on LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages were assessed using biochemical analysis,including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction,and Western blot *** examine reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,flow cytometry analysis,and immunofluorescence staining were ***,the modulatory effect of *** ethanolic extract on NF-κB activation was ***:*** ethanolic extract significantly attenuated LPS-induced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and notably reduced the secretion and mRNA levels of LPS-mediated matrix *** addition,*** ethanolic extract decreased ROS production and suppressed the TLR4/NF-κB signaling ***:*** ethanolic extract alleviates inflammation as well as oxidative stress by modulating the TLR4/NF-κB signaling in LPS-induced RAW264.7 *** can be used as a potential therapeutic agent to suppress inflammation and oxidative stress-associated diseases.

BACKGROUND Ewing’s sarcoma(ES)is a neuroectodermal tumor that typically occurs in the bones and soft tissues of children and young *** renal ES is rare;only a few cases and a small case series have been documented,and only four cases involved primary renal ES in older people(>65 years old).CASE SUMMARY Herein,we describe the radiological and pathological features of primary renal ES in an older person.A 76-year-old man complained of poor oral intake and was found to have a large cystic renal mass with indistinct margins on computed ***-guided biopsy revealed that the tumor contained small round blue *** patient underwent a right radical *** tumor cells showed diffuse membranous CD99,and nuclear friend leukemia integration 1 transcription factor and NK2 Homeobox *** in situ hybridization revealed EWSR1 ***,18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography revealed no evidence of *** patient was diagnosed with primary renal *** months following the surgery,local recurrence and distant metastasis were *** renal ES is rare and often lethal in older *** specific imaging findings are unknown,and treatment protocols have not been *** This case report describes the radiological and pathological features of primary renal ES in an older person.

Semantic Segmentation by Using Down-Sampling and Subpixel Convolution: DSSC-UNet

Recently, semantic segmentation has been widely applied toimage processing, scene understanding, and many others. Especially, indeep learning-based semantic segmentation, the U-Net with convolutionalencoder-decoder architecture is a representative model which is proposed forimage segmentation in the biomedical field. It used max pooling operationfor reducing the size of image and making noise robust. However, instead ofreducing the complexity of the model, max pooling has the disadvantageof omitting some information about the image in reducing it. So, thispaper used two diagonal elements of down-sampling operation instead ofit. We think that the down-sampling feature maps have more informationintrinsically than max pooling feature maps because of keeping the Nyquisttheorem and extracting the latent information from them. In addition,this paper used two other diagonal elements for the skip connection. Indecoding, we used Subpixel Convolution rather than transposed convolutionto efficiently decode the encoded feature maps. Including all the ideas, thispaper proposed the new encoder-decoder model called Down-Sampling andSubpixel Convolution U-Net (DSSC-UNet). To prove the better performanceof the proposed model, this paper measured the performance of the UNetand DSSC-UNet on the Cityscapes. As a result, DSSC-UNet achieved89.6% Mean Intersection OverUnion (Mean-IoU) andU-Net achieved 85.6%Mean-IoU, confirming that DSSC-UNet achieved better performance.

Polyalkenoate cement(PAC)is a promising material for regenerative hard tissue *** ionically rich glass component of PAC encourages bioactive interaction *** release of essential ***,PAC bioactivity is restricted owing to(i)structurally inherent cationic network formers and(ii)surface bacterial biofilm *** two factors cause a deficiency in ion release,further complicated by secondary infections and premature therapeutic ***,a multivalent zwitterionic network modifier(mZM)is presented for upregulation of ionic exchange and bioactivity *** introducing a non-zero charged mZM into PACs,an increase in the proportion of non-bridging oxygen *** network modification promotes ion channel formation,causing a multiple-fold increase in ion release and surface deposition of hydroxy-carbonate apatite(ca.74%).Experiments ex vivo and animal models also demonstrate the efficient remineralization ability of the ***,divalent cationic interaction results in bacterial biofilm reduction(ca.68%)while also influencing a shift in the biofilm species composition,which favors commensal ***,PAC modification with mZM offers a promising solution for upregulation of bioactivity,even aiding in customization by targeting site-specific regenerative therapy in future applications.

Effect of polyethylene glycol on electrochemically deposited trivalent chromium layers

The structural characteristics of the trivalent chromium deposits and their interfacial behavior in the plating solution with and without polyethylene glycol molecules were observed by using various electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry,open circuit potential transition,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron *** is shown that the polyethylene glycol molecules make the reductive current density lower in the trivalent chromium plating system and promote a hydrogen evolution reaction through their adsorption on the electrode *** the trivalent chromium layer formed from the polyethylene glycol-containing solution has somewhat higher density of cracks on its surface and results in a lower film resistance,lower polarization resistance,and higher capacitance in a corrosive *** is also revealed that the formation of chromium carbide layer is facilitated in the presence of polyethylene glycol,which means easier electrochemical codeposition of chromium and carbon,not single chromium deposition.

Optimal rotor wear design in hypotrochoidal gear pump using genetic algorithm

The wear rate between the rotors of a hypotrochoidal gear pump is *** the knowledge of shape design on the rotors,the contact stresses without hydrodynamic effect between the rotor teeth were evaluated through the calculation of the Hertzian contact *** on the above results and the sliding velocity between the rotors,a genetic algorithm (GA) was used as an optimization technique forminimizing the wear rate proportional factor (WRPF).The result shows that the wear rate or the WRPF can be reduced considerably,*** 12.8%,throughout the optimization using GA.

Kinematical system of breadth cam profile design

The design solutions for breadth cam mechanism was presented. The main topics of the shape design for breadth cam was to calculate the coordinate at each contact point to determine the cam profile. The proposed method according to velocity and geometric relationships of instant velocity centers can easily determine each contact point at any instant moment. The cam profile was defined by contouring of the contact points. And also a program was developed by using Microsoft Visual C++ program,which can quickly and easily draw a 2D cam profile through the displacement diagram. Finally,the program was used to confirm the accuracy on the breadth cam profile design by computer animation graphically.

Synergetic analysis of springtime air pollution episodes over Gwangju,Korea

The characteristics of springtime aerosols,including their optical and microphysical properties,were analyzed for the months of March to May of 2009 in Gwangju（35.23°N,126.84°E）,Korea.A high Light Detection and Ranging（LIDAR）-derived aerosol depolarization ratio（δ） of 0.25 ± 0.04 was determined on dust particles during the observation ***？ngstr？m exponent values of the 440–870 nm wavelength pair（？_（440–870）） and single-scattering albedo at 675 nm（Ω_（675）） measured by a CIMEL sun/sky radiometer were 0.77 ± 0.19 and 0.95 ±0.01,*** elevated dust layers reached a maximum elevation of 4 km above sea ***/smoke particles that originated from highly populated/industrialized regions could be distinguished by their relatively smaller particle size（？_（440–870） ranged between1.33 and 1.36） and higher light-absorbing（Ω_（675） of 0.92 ± 0.01） *** aerosols are mostly distributed at altitudes 〈 1.2 *** root-mean-square deviation（RMSD） between the aerosol optical depth（AOD,τ） derived from LIDAR_（（τ_（LIDAR））） and from the CIMEL sun/sky radiometer_（（τ_（CIMEL））） varied with respect to the surface PM10 *** RMSD between τ_（LIDAR） and τ_（CIMEL） was as low as 13% under lower PM_（10） concentration levels（〈 100 μg/m^3）.In contrast,the RMSD between τ_（LIDAR） and τ_（CIMEL） increased three times（~31%） under high surface PM_（10） concentration levels（〉100 μg/m^3）.These results suggest that the accuracy of τ_（LIDAR） is influenced by specific atmospheric conditions,regardless of its uncertainty.

Fournier’s gangrene after insertion of thermo-expandable prostatic stent for benign prostatic hyperplasia:A case report

BACKGROUND Thermo-expandable urethral stent(Memokath 028)implantation is an alternative treatment for older patients with lower urinary tract symptoms and benign prostatic *** prostatic urethral stent implantation,minor complications such as urinary tract infection,irritative symptoms,gross hematuria,and urethral pain have been observed;however,there are no reports of life-threatening ***,we report a critical case of Fournier’s gangrene that occurred 7 years after prostatic *** SUMMARY An 81-years-old man with benign prostatic hyperplasia(volume,126 ccs;as measured by transrectal ultrasound)had undergone insertion of a thermoexpandable urethral stent(Memokath 028)as he was unfit for surgery under general ***,the patient had undergone a suprapubic cystostomy for recurrent acute urinary retention 4 years after the insertion of prostatic stent(Memokath 028).We had planned to remove the Memokath 028;however,the patient was lost to *** patient presented to the emergency department 3 years after the suprapubic cystostomy with necrotic changes from the right scrotum to the right inguinal *** digital rectal examination,tenderness and heat of prostate was ***,the black skin color change with foulsmelling from right scrotum to right inguinal area was *** computed tomography finding,subcutaneous emphysema was identified to same *** was diagnosed with Fournier’s gangrene based on the physical examination and computed tomography *** emergency room,Fournier’s gangrene severity index value is seven ***,he underwent emergent extended surgical debridement and removal of the Memokath ***-spectrum intravenous antibiotics were administered and additional necrotic tissue debridement was ***,the patient died 14 days after surgery due to multiorgan *** If Memokath 028 for benign prostatic hyperplasia is not working in older patients,its rapid
