Acapulco, mexico has a coastline of 62 km where large areas of rocky substrate inhabited by organisms such as the GASTROPODA Class can be found. Conidae (Fleming, 1822) Family is among the members of this Class, which has been poorly studied in the mexican Pacific, despite their biomedical potential. This research was carried out in the rocky intertidal of nine sites in Acapulco. The objectives were: 1) Prepare an inventory of species associated with rocky intertidal of Conidae family, 2) examine the composition of the family based on two criteria: a) species richness and b) abundance, 3) determine the geographical distribution and 4) analyze the size composition. The unit sampled was 1 m2 and the sampled area was 10 m2 persite. A total of 97 organisms were analyzed, corresponding to two subfamilies, five genera and five species. The Puncticuliinae (Tucker & Tenorio, 2009) subfamily had higher species richness, abundance and frequency of occurrence. The most abundant and most common species were Harmoniconus nux (Broderip, 1833) and Gladioconus gladiator (Broderip, 1833) both showed regular distribution. The size structure found for Conidae family is similar to what has been reported in other research. For the first time G. gladiator is being reported for the state of Guerrero.

Intestinal pseudo-obstruction secondary to systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) is a rare syndrome described in recent decades. There are slightly over 30 published cases in the English language literature, primarily associated with renal and hematological disease activity. Its presentation and evolution are a diagnostic challenge for the clinician. We present four cases of intestinal pseudo-obstruction due to lupus in young mexican females. One patient had a previous diagnosis of SLE and all presented with a urinary tract infection of varying degrees of severity during their evolution. We consider that recognition of the disease is of vital importance because it allows for establishing appropriate management, leading to a better prognosis and avoiding unnecessary surgery and complications.

The glass forming ability, thermal and mechanical properties of some Zr Cu Al Ni bulk metallic glasses were analyzed. The compositions of the alloys were theoretically determined with the dense packing and kinetic fragility index models. Cylindrical and conical ingots were produced by copper mould suction-casting under Ar atmosphere. The conical ingots were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction in order to determine the glassy structure. It was found that both alloys have a critical glassy diameter, Dc, of 3 mm. Thermal behaviours were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry at heating rates of 0.5, 0.67 and 0.83 K/s. The gamma parameter γ, supercooled liquid region ΔTx, and reduced glass transition temperature Trg, of the experimentally obtained glasses indicated high glass forming ability. The glassy compositions showed a fragility index of ~40 GPa. The compression test of the investigated alloys was carried out at a strain rate of 0.016 s^-1, obtaining a elastic modulus of ~83 GPa, total deformation of ~5%, yield strength of 1.6 GPa and hardness of 4 GPa. It was concluded that the use of the dense packing and kinetic fragility index models helped to predict glass-forming compositions in the family alloy investigated.

Objective: To evaluate the cytotoxic and antibacterial effect of Bixa orellana L.(B. orellana)(achiote) methanol extract against Streptococcus mutans(ATCC 25175)(S. mutans) and Streptococcus sanguinis(ATCC 10556)(S. sanguinis).methods: Two methanol extracts of B. orellana were prepared in vitro, from the seeds and leaves. The antibacterial activity of extracts against S. mutans and S. sanguinis was evaluated using the cup-plate agar diffusion method. The minimum inhibitory concentration(mIC) was determined using the microdilution method and the cytotoxic activity was determinated by using the cell line ***: A stronger antibacterial effect was observed with the leaves methanolic extract with an inhibition zone of(19.97 ± 1.31) mm against S. mutans and(19.97 ± 1.26) mm against S. sanguinis. The methanolic extract of the seeds had an activity of(15.11 ± 1.03)mm and(16.15 ± 2.15) mm against S. mutans and S. sanguinis, respectively. The mIC of the leaf and the seed extracts against S. sanguinis was 62.5 and 125 mg/m L, respectively,and the mIC of the leaf extract against S. mutans was 62.5 mg/m L, and for the seed extract it was 31.25 mg/m L. The 50% cytotoxic concentration was 366.45 and 325.05 mg/m L for the leaves and seeds extracts, ***: The experimental findings demonstrated the antibacterial effect of the methanolic extract of B. orellana(achiote) on S. mutans and S. sanguinis. The extract of this plant is cytotoxic at high concentrations.

Thermal plasma technology provides a stable and long term treatment of mixed wastes through vitrification processes. In this work, a transferred plasma system was realized to vitrify mixed wastes, taking advantage of its high power density, enthalpy and chemical reactivity as well as its rapid quenching and high operation temperatures. To characterize the plasma discharge, a temperature diagnostic is realized by means of optical emission spectroscopy （OES）. To typify the morphological structure of the wastes samples~ scan- ning electron microscopy （SEm）, and X-ray diffraction （XRD） techniques were applied before and after the plasma treatment.

Objective:To evaluate the antibacterial and cytotoxic effect of myrciaria dubia(Camu camu)(***) methanol extract,against Streptococcus mutans(ATCC 25175)(***) and Streptococcus sanguinis(ATCC 10556)(***).methods:Two methanol extracts of *** were prepared in vitro,from the seeds and *** independent tests were prepared for each type of extract,using 0.12% chlorhexidine solution as positive *** diffusion test was used by preparing wells with the experimental solutions cultivated in anaerobic conditions for 48 h at ***,the minimum inhibitory concentration and the cytotoxic effect over mDCK cell line was ***:A higher antibacterial effect was observed with the methanol seed extract with an inhibitory halo of(21.36 ± 6.35) mm and(19.21 ± 5.18) mm against *** and ***,*** methanol extract of the pulp had an effect of(16.20 ± 2.08)mm and(19.34 ± 2.90) mm,*** minimum inhibitory concentration of the pulp extract was 62.5 mg/mL for both strains,whereas for the seed antibacterial activity was observed even at low *** CC50 of the seeds extract was at a higher concentration than 800 mg/mL and 524.37 mg/mL for the pulp ***:The experimental findings demonstrated the antibacterial effect of the methanol extract of *** against *** and *** extracts were not cytotoxic at high concentrations.

The progress made by the scientific community in emerging photovoltaic technologies over the past two decades has been outstanding. Numerous methods have been developed for the preparation of hybrid organic–inorganic perovskite solar cells. The power conversion efficiency has been up to 14% by a one-step vacuum deposition technique. A serious concern is the toxicity of the materials. In this review, several methods aimed at resolving these problems to some extent have been compiled, including eco-friendly synthesis. Further efficiency enhancements are expected following optimization, and a better fundamental understanding of the internal electron charge transfer, electron–hole diffusion to the corresponding layers, flexibility, and stability-dependent bandgaps is reported. This paper explores the green synthesis of organic–inorganic perovskites for industrialization. Concerning the above facts, a simple low-cost model called‘‘dispersed photovoltaic cells' ' is presented.

Single incision laparoscopic surgery(SILS) is a minimally invasive platform with specific benefits over traditional multiport laparoscopic surgery. The safety and feasibility of SILS has been proven, and the applications continue to grow with experience. After 500 cases at a high-volume, single-institution, we were able to standardize instrumentation and operative steps, as well as develop adaptations in technique to help overcome technical and ergonomic challenges. These technical adaptations have allowed the successful application of SILS to technically difficult patient populations, such as pelvic cases, inflammatory bowel disease cases, and high body mass index patients. This review is a frame of reference for the application and wider integration of the single incision laparoscopic platform in colorectal surgery.
