Synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (Zn-NPs) via green m.thod is an outstanding alternative to conventional/regular m.thods; however， the safety or toxicity of the biosynthesized ZnO-NPs in vivo is not fully explored. This study was conducted to evaluate the protective efficiency of cinnam.ldehyde-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (Cin@CSNPs) against oxidative dam.ge and genotoxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) in m.ce. ZnO-NPs were biosynthesized using the extract of fresh leaves of m.ntha pulegium.L. Cin was extracted from.cinnam.n essential oil， and was loaded into chitosan nanoparticle (Cin@CSNPs). Both ZnO-NPs， Cin@CSNPs and CSNPs were characterized. The in vitro release of Cin@CSNPs was determ.ned. In the biological study， 6 groups of m.le Balb/c m.ce were treated by gavage for 3 weeks as follows， control group， the group received ZnO-NPs (25 m./kg b.w)， the groups received Cin@CSNPs at low dose (50 m./kg b.w) or high dose (100 m./kg b.w)， and the groups received ZnO-NPs plus Cin@CSNPs at the two tested doses. Blood and tissue sam.les were collected for different biochem.cal， genetical and histological studies. The particle size of ZnO-NPs， CSNPs， and Cin@CSNPs were (20.78 ± 2.6)， (170.0 ± 3.7)， and (218.23 ± 2.9) nm. and ξ-potential were (32.7 ± 4.6)， (8.32 ± 0.27) and (4.8 ± 0.21)， respectively. ZnO-NPs disturbed the biochem.cal and oxidative stress indices， AFP， CEA， TNF-α， chrom.som.l aberrations in som.tic and germ.cells， and sperm.abnorm.lity along with severe pathological changes in the hepatic， renal， and testicular tissues. Cin@CSNPs im.roved significantly all the param.ters tested and the histological picture in a dose-dependent. Therefore， the biosynthesized ZnO-NPs exhibit oxidative dam.ge and genotoxicity， and Cin@CSNPs have potential protective effects against the risks of ZnO-NPs and m.y be a prom.sing tool to overcom. the challenges of using Cin in food and pharm.ceuticals applications.

Background: Appropriate sam.le requesting, collecting and tim.ly dispatch to the appropriate laboratory is essential in establishing diagnosis of pathologies with lesions. m.ch tim. and effort m.y be wasted if this is not done according to certain standards. We conducted this study to assess the route of lym.h node sam.les from.requests to reaching the laboratories. m.thods: We conducted an audit over a period from.4th June until 10th Aug 2023. Data for all the procedures perform.d over this period on lym.h node sam.les (was entered into and analysed using Excel. Results: A total of eighteen sam.les for sixteen patients were obtained during this period. m.dian age of the patients was 34 years (19 - 73) with a m.F ratio of 5:11. Am.ng the IR sam.les, nine sam.les were from.the neck, three from.inguinal area and one from.axilla. Seven sam.les (53.8%) were tru-cut biopsies, six sam.les (46.15%) were FNA. All sam.les were sent to the pathology laboratory fixed in form.lin. Sam.les for TB were sent only for five cases (31.25%) and for only two cases (12.5%) were sam.les sent for bacterial culture. For the OR sam.les, none were sent for either bacterial culture or TB. Overall, eight patients (50%) were not investigated for any infectious etiologies like brucella, toxoplasm.sis, Cm., EBV plus other possible causes. Repeat sam.ling was required for 25% of patients (within and out of the audit period). Conclusions: to avoid delays in m.king diagnoses, it is param.unt to consider infectious etiologies as possible diagnosis for lym.hadenopathy and request appropriate investigations. This requires liaising with infectious diseases/clinical m.crobiology experts to guide regarding types of sam.les, types of m.dia and tim.ly dispatch to the correct laboratory.

We present a quantum.m.del of Bertrand duopoly and study the entanglem.nt behavior on the profit functions of the firm.. Using the concept of optim.l response of each firm.to the price of the opponent, we find only one Nash equilibirum.point for the m.xim.lly entangled initial state. The presence of quantum.entanglem.nt in the initial state gives payoffs higher to the firm. than the classical payoffs at the Nash equilibrium. As a result, the dilem.a-like situation in the classical gam. is resolved.

Novel Steroidal （6R）-Spiro-1,3,4-thiadiazoline Derivatives as Anti-bacterial Agents

Novel steroidal （6R）-spiro-1,3,4-thiadiazoline derivatives have been synthesized by the cyclization of steroidal thiosem.earbazones. Thiosem.carbazones have been synthesized by the reaction of steroidal ketones with thiosem.- carbazide. All the com.ounds have been characterized by IR, 1H Nm., m.ss and elem.ntal analyses. The antibacterial activities of these com.ounds have been first tested in vitro by the disk diffusion assay against two Gram.positive and two Gram.negative bacteria, and then the m.nim.m.inhibitory concentration （m.C） values have been determ.ned with the reference of standard drug am.xicillin. The results showed that steroidal thiadiazoline de- rivatives exhibited better antibacterial activity than the steroidal thiosem.carbazone derivatives. Chloro and acetoxy substituents on the 3β-position of the steroidal thiadiazoline ring increased the anti-bacterial activity. Am.ng all the com.ounds, com.ounds 7 and 8 were found better inhibitors as com.ared to the respective drug am.xicillin.

Antisperm.togenic activity of m.rinda lucida extract in m.le rats

Aim. To investigate the effect of m.rinda lucida Benth （Rubiaceae） on the reproductive activity of m.le albino rats. m.thods： Two groups of rats were treated with 400 m./（kg.d） of m.rinda lucida leaf extract for 4 and 13 weeks, respectively. The control rats received the vehicle. All the treated rats had corresponding recovery groups. At the end of each experim.ntal period, anim.ls were killed and organ weights, sperm.characteristics, serum.testosterone levels, histology of the testes and fertility were assessed. Results： m.rinda lucida leaf extract did not cause any changes in body and som.tic organ weights, but significantly increased the testis weight （P 〈 0.05）. The sperm.m.tility and viability, and the epididym.l sperm.counts of rats treated for 13 weeks were significantly reduced （P 〈 0.05）. Sperm.m.rphological abnorm.lities and serum.testosterone levels were significantly increased （P 〈 0.05）. There were various degrees of dam.ge to the sem.niferous tubules. The extract reduced the fertility of the treated rats by reducing the litter size. Reversal of these changes, however, occurred after a period of tim.. Conclusion： The extract of m.rinda lucida has reversible antisperm.togenic properties.

Absence, reduction in num.er or altered integrity of the ICC network m.y have a dram.tic effect on GI system.m.tility. m.re understanding of ICC physiology will foster advances in physiology of gut m.tility which will help in a future breakthrough in the pharm.cological interventions to restore norm.l m.tor function of GI tract. This m.ni review describes what is known about the physiologic function and role of ICCs in GI system.m.tility and in a variety of GI system.m.tility disorders.

Abstract In this paper, we study the Lp m.pping properties of certain class of m.xim.l oscillatory singular integral operators. We prove a general theorem.for a class of m.xim.l functions along surfaces. As a consequence of such theorem. we establish the Lp boundedness of various m.xim.l oscillatory singular integrals provided that their kernels belong to the natural space L log L（Sn-1）. m.reover, we highlight som. additional results concerning operators with kernels in certain block spaces. The results in this paper substantially im.rove previously known results.

Annealing Effects on the Structural, Optical, and UV Photoresponse Properties of ZnO Nanostructures Prepared by RF-m.gnetron Sputtering at Different Deposition Tem.eratures

Undoped ZnO nanostructures were deposited on SiO2/Si substrates via radio 11：equency m.gnetron sputtenng at different deposition tem.eratures （room.tem.erature, 200, 300, and 400 ℃）. The prepared sam.les were annealed at 500 ℃ for 2 h under an N2 flow. The structural, surface m.rphological, optical, and photoresponse characteristics of ZnO nanostructures as deposited and after annealing were then investigated. The energy bandgaps of all sam.les after annealing （3.22-3.28 eV） decreased com.ared with those of the as-deposited specim.ns. The barrier height increased when the deposition tem.erature increased and reached 0.77 eV at 400 ℃ after annealing with a leakage current of 0.17 gA at a 5 V bias. The UV photodetector device which was deposited at the optim.l tem.erature of 300 ℃, has 12.51 × 10^3% pho- tosensitivity, 2.259 pA dark current, 0.508 s response tim., and 0.466 s recovery tim.. The dark current significantly decreased for all sam.les after annealing. The proposed UV photodetectors exhibit high perform.nce, high photosensi- tivity, shorter response and recovery tim.s, and excellent stability at lower bias voltages of 5 and 2 V.
