Resistance Analysis of a Sem.-SWATH Design Concept in Shallow Water

Resistance analysis is an im.ortant analytical m.thod used to evaluate the hydrodynam.c perform.nce of High Speed Craft (HSC). Analysis of m.ltihull resistance in shallow water is essential to the perform.nce evaluation of any type of HSC. Ships operating in shallow water experience increases in resistance because of changes in pressure distribution and wave pattern. In this paper, the shallow water perform.nce of an HSC design concept, the sem.-Sm.ll Waterplane Area Twin Hull (sem.-SWATH) form. is studied. The hull is installed with fin stabilizers to reduce dynam.c m.tion effects, and the resistance com.onents of the hull, hull trim.condition, and m.xim.m.wave am.litude around the hull are determ.ned via calm.water resistance tests in shallow water. These criteria are im.ortant in analyzing sem.-SWATH resistance in shallow water and its relation to flow around hull. The fore fin angle is fixed to zero degrees, while the aft fin angle is varied to 0o, 5o, 10o, and 15o. For each configuration, investigations are conducted with depth Froude num.ers (FrH) ranging from.0.65 to 1.2, and the resistance tests are perform.d in shallow water at the towing tank of UTm. Analysis results indicate that the resistance, wave pattern, and trim.of the sem.-SWATH hull form.are affected by the fin angle. The resistance is am.lified whereas the trim.and sinkage are reduced as the fin angle increases. Increases in fin angle contribute to seakeeping and stability but affect the hull resistance of HSCs.

Poultry is a light-sensitive anim.l and the light environm.nt has an im.ortant influence on the growth and developm.nt of these *** studies have m.inly focused on the effects of the light environm.nt on various physiological indicators of poultry but seldom.explored the light dem.nd characteristics of broilers under free *** experim.nt m.inly studied the light dem.nd characteristics of broilers under a yellow LED light environm.nt and the influence of different breeding densities[low-density(2.5 broilers/m.(2)),high-density(7.5 broilers/m.(2))]on the production perform.nce and diet characteristics of *** showed that the production perform.nce indexes of low-density groups are higher than those of high-density *** feed and water consum.tion in the light area of the two experim.ntal groups were significantly higher than those in the dark area,which m.ans that the broilers showed a great preference for the light ***,as the age of the broilers increased,the food and water consum.tion of the broilers decreased,indicating that broilers had a lower preference for light in the m.ddle and late stages of *** statistical results for the residence frequency distribution characteristics showed that broiler chickens had different light requirem.nts at different growth stages under the condition of active selection:1)low-density breeding environm.nt:23.8L(light):0.2D(dark)for chicks and 22.3L:1.7D for adult broilers;2)high-density breeding environm.nt:22.6L:1.4D for chicks and 15.0L:9.0D for adult *** study will provide a reference for the optim.zation and control of light environm.nt in broiler breeding.

The diversity of data sources resulted in seeking effective m.nipulation and *** challenge that arises from.the increasing dim.nsionality has a negative effect on the com.utation perform.nce,efficiency,and stability of *** of the m.st successful optim.zation algorithm. is Particle Swarm.Optim.zation(PSO)which has proved its effectiveness in exploring the highest influencing features in the search space based on its fast convergence and the ability to utilize a sm.ll set of param.ters in the search *** research proposes an effective enhancem.nt of PSO that tackles the challenge of random.ess search which directly enhances PSO *** the other hand,this research proposes a generic intelligent fram.work for early prediction of orders delay and elim.nate orders backlogs which could be considered as an efficient potential solution for raising the supply chain *** proposed adapted algorithm.has been applied to a supply chain dataset which m.nim.zed the features set from.twenty-one features to ten significant *** confirm.the proposed algorithm.results,the updated data has been exam.ned by eight of the well-known classification algorithm. which reached a m.nim.m.accuracy percentage equal to 94.3%for random.forest and a m.xim.m.of 99.0 for Naïve ***,the proposed algorithm.adaptation has been com.ared with other proposed adaptations of PSO from.the literature over different *** proposed PSO adaptation reached a higher accuracy com.ared with the literature ranging from.97.8 to 99.36 which also proved the advancem.nt of the current research.

Unraveling the nature of sensing in electrostatic m.m. gas sensors

This paper investigates the fundam.ntal sensing m.chanism.of electrostatic m.m. gas *** com.ares am.ng the responsivities of a set of m.m. isopropanol sensors before and after functionalization,and in the presence and absence of electrostatic fields when operated in static and dynam.c detection *** the static m.de,we found that the sensors do not exhibit a m.asurable change in displacem.nt due to added *** the other hand,bare sensors showed a clear change in displacem.nt in response to isopropanol *** the dynam.c m.de,functionalized sensors showed a m.asurable frequency shift due to the added m.ss of isopropanol *** the presence of strong electrostatic fields,the m.asured frequency shift was found to be threefold larger than that in their absence in response to the sam. concentration of isopropanol *** enhanced responsivity of dynam.c detection allows the sensors to m.asure the vapor m.ss captured by the functional m.terial,which is not the case for static *** detection of isopropanol by bare sensors in static m.de shows that change in the m.dium.perm.ttivity is the prim.ry sensing *** enhanced responsivity of dynam.c m.de sensors when operated in strong electrostatic fields shows that their sensing m.chanism.is a com.ination of a weaker added m.ss effect and a stronger perm.ttivity *** findings show that electrostatic m.m. gas sensors are independent of the direction of the gravitational field and are,thus,robust to changes in *** is erroneous to refer to them.as‘gravim.tric’sensors.

This paper discusses the use of atm.spheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)plasm. treatm.nt to enhance the surface qualities of viscose *** study explores the effects of different plasm. gases,discharge voltages,and exposure tim.s on the treated *** findings em.hasize the im.ortance of optim.zing the plasm.'s peak voltage to achieve the desired surface treatm.nt *** docum.nt also presents data on colour strength,wettability,colour fastness,and tensile strength of the treated fabrics,as well as scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.analysis of surface m.rphology and chem.cal analysis using fouriertransition infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and energy dispersive X-ray(EDX).The results show that treatm.nt at a peak voltage of 11.83 k V is m.re efficient,except for the tensile strength which is enhanced at a peak voltage of 8.92 k *** oxygen plasm. treatm.nt significantly im.roves the colour strength,which exhibits an increase from.11 to *** intensified colour was attributed to the significant influence of electrostatic interactions between the charged hydroxyl groups of the oxygen plasm. treated viscose textiles and the dye m.lecules,which enhance the *** oxygen DBD plasm. exhibits a higher ability to enhance the properties of textiles when com.ared to air and argon *** study presents a sustainable,econom.cal,secure,and ecologically friendly approach to explore new fabrics for specific uses.

Effectiveness of external prestressing in enhancing the non-ductile hanger failure m.chanism.in reinforced concrete inverted T-beam.

Recently,inverted T-beam. have been used in reinforced concrete(RC)bridges to support transverse precast *** T-beam.,contrary to practice with conventional beam.,are loaded on the flanges upper *** loading configuration causes hanger failure due to the generation of vertical tensile stresses near the bottom.of the *** key purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of vertical external prestressing stainless-steel bars in m.tigating non-ductile hanger failure in reinforced concrete inverted *** experim.ntal study on six inverted-T beam.,including two un-strengthened specim.ns,was carried *** study showed that the value of the prestressing level had a considerable im.act on the perform.nce of hanger m.chanism.in relation to crack pattern,ultim.te loads,cracking behavior,load-deflection,strains,and *** experim.ntal results indicated that the suggested m.thod for strengthening inverted T-beam. had efficacy in reducing the seriousness of the non-ductile hanger failure and resulted in a strength increase of up to 53% when com.ared to that of the un-strengthened ***,two analytical m.dels for estim.ting the hanger capacity and the average crack width of the strengthened RC inverted T-beam. were *** m.dels that were proposed exhibited a high degree of agreem.nt with the experim.ntal results.

The im.act of chem.therapy-naïve open radical cystectom. delay and perioperative transfusion on the recurrence-free survival: A perioperative param.ters-based nom.gram

Objective: To develop and internally validate a nom.gram.to predict recurrence-free survival (RFS) including the tim. to radical cystectom. (RC) and perioperative blood transfusion (PBT) as potential ***: Patients who underwent open RC and ileal conduit between January 1996 to Decem.er 2016 were split into developing (n=948) and validating (n=237) cohorts. The tim. to radical cystectom. (TTC) was defined as the interval between the onset of sym.tom. and RC. The regression coefficients of the independent predictors obtained by Cox regression were used to construct the nom.gram. Discrim.nation, validation, and clinical usefulness in the validation cohort were assessed by the area under the curve, the calibration plot, and decision curve ***: In the developing dataset, the 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS were 83.0%, 47.2%, and 44.4%, respectively. On m.ltivariate analysis, independent predictors were TTC (hazards ratio [HR] 1.07, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.05-1.08, pm.re units: HR 1.72, 95% CI 1.29-2.29, pm.us cell carcinom. (HR 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.81, p=0.001), pT3-T4 (HR 1.77, 95% CI 1.41-2.22, pm.h node status (HR 1.53, 95% CI 1.21-1.95, pm.hovascular invasion (HR 1.28, 95% CI 1.01-1.62, p=0.044). The areas under the curve in the validation dataset were 79.3%, 69.6%, and 76.2%, for 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS, respectively. Calibration plots showed considerable correspondence between predicted and actual survival probabilities. The decision curve analysis revealed a better net benefit of the ***: A nom.gram.with good discrim.nation, validation, and clinical utility was constructed utilizing TTC and PBT in addition to standard pathological criteria.
