Windowing Waveform Relaxation of Initial Value Problems

We present a windowing technique of waveform relaxation for dynamic systems. An effective estimation on window length is derived by an iterative error expression provided here. Relaxation processes can be speeded up if one takes the windowing technique in advance. Numerical experiments are given to further illustrate the theoretical analysis.

The generalized successive overrelaxation （GSOR） method was presented and studied by Bai, Parlett and Wang [Numer. Math. 102（2005）, pp.1-38] for solving the augmented system of linear equations, and the optimal iteration parameters and the corresponding optimal convergence factor were exactly obtained. In this paper, we further estimate the contraction and the semi-contraction factors of the GSOR method. The motivation of the study is that the convergence speed of an iteration method is actually decided by the contraction factor but not by the spectral radius in finite-step iteration computations. For the nonsingular augmented linear system, under some restrictions we obtain the contraction domain of the parameters involved, which guarantees that the contraction factor of the GSOR method is less than one. For the singular but consistent augmented linear system, we also obtain the semi-contraction domain of the parameters in a similar fashion. Finally, we use two numerical examples to verify the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the GSOR method.

In this paper,for the mixed Navier–Stokes/Darcy model with Beavers–Joseph–Saffman’s interface condition,we first establish an a priori estimate for possible weak solutions by means of expanding the coupled *** we prove the existence of weak solutions without the small data and/or large viscosity restriction,which is required for the existence of the weak solutions in *** a direct corollary,we also get the global uniqueness of the weak solution.

In most models of population dynamics, diffusion between two patches is assumed to be either continuous or discrete. However, in the real world, it is often the case that diffusion occurs at certain moment every year, impulsive diffusion can provide a more suitable manner to model the actual dispersal （or migration） behaviors for many eco- logical species. In addition, it is generally recognized that some kinds of time delays are inevitable in population interactions. In view of these facts, a delayed predator-prey system with impulsive diffusion between two patches is proposed. By using compari- son theorem of impulsive differential equation and some analysis techniques, criteria on the global attractivity of predator-extinction periodic solution are established, sufficient conditions for the permanence of system are obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our theoretical results.

In this paper we presented a convergence condition of parallel dynamic iteration methods for a nonlinear system of differential-algebraic equations with a periodic constraint. The convergence criterion is decided by the spectral expression of a linear operator derived from system partitions. Numerical experiments given here confirm the theoretical work of the paper.

This study investigated environmental distribution and human exposure of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and their derivatives in one Chinese petroleum refinery *** was found that,following with high concentrations of 16 EPA PAHs(∑Parent-PAHs)in smelting subarea of studied petroleum refinery facility,total derivatives of PAHs[named as XPAHs,including nitro PAHs(NPAHs),chlorinated PAHs(Cl-PAHs),and brominated PAHs(Br-PAHs)]in gas(mean=1.57×10^(4)ng/m^(3)),total suspended particulate(TSP)(mean=4.33×10^(3) ng/m^(3))and soil(mean=4.37×10^(3) ng/g)in this subarea had 1.76-6.19 times higher levels than those from other subareas of this facility,surrounding residential areas and reference areas,indicating that petroleum refining processes would lead apparent derivation of ***,compared with those in residential and reference areas,gas samples in the petrochemical areas had higher∑NPAH/∑PAHs(mean=2.18),but lower∑Cl-PAH/∑PAHs(mean=1.43×10^(-1))and∑Br-PAH/∑PAHs ratios(mean=7.49×10^(-2)),indicating the richer nitrification of PAHs than chlorination during petrochemical *** occupational exposure to PAHs and XPAHs in this petroleum refinery facility were 24-343 times higher than non-occupational exposure,and the ILCR(1.04×10^(-4))for petrochemical workers was considered to be potential high ***,one expanded high-resolution screening through GC Orbitrap/MS was performed for soils from petrochemical area,and another 35 PAHs were found,including alkyl-PAHs,phenyl-PAHs and other species,indicat-ing that profiles and risks of PAHs analogs in petrochemical areas deserve further expanded investigation.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their unique high safety and low-cost ***,their practical applications are at a slow pace due to their short cycle life,which fundamentally results from the instability of the positive/negative electrode interface in the traditional dilute aqueous electrolytes with high water *** highly concentrated electrolyte（HCE）has been considered as an effective *** previous studies of single salt-based HCE（SSHCE）,herein,a new dual-salt HCE（15 m ZnCl2+10 m NH4NH2SO3DS-HCE） was proposed for the first ***-HCE was proven to simultaneously possess higher conductivity than traditional dilute electrolytes and ultralow water activity of SS-HCE by the regulation of dual high-concentration salts on the solvation structure,which renders the Zn‖Zn symmetric cell the record-long cycling life of 2200 h compared with those with SS-HCE（30 m ZnCl2,300 h） and other reported ***,the Zn‖NH4V4O10full cell with DS-HCE demonstrated impressed rate capability within a wide-range current densities from 0.1 to 10 A ***,at the high current density of 5 A g-1,the full cell shows almost100% capacity retention after 4000 cycles,which indicates the promising future of the DS-HCE system for long-duration aqueous Zn-ion batteries.
