Diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection: Current options and developments

Accurate diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection is a crucial part in the effective management of many gastroduodenal diseases. Several invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests are available for the detection of H. pylori and each test has its usefulness and limitations in different clinical situations. Although none can be considered as a single gold standard in clinical practice,several techniques have been developed to give the more reliable results. Invasive tests are performed via endoscopic biopsy specimens and these tests include histology,culture,rapid urease test as well as molecular methods. Developments of endoscopic equipment also contribute to the real-time diagnosis of H. pylori during endoscopy. Urea breathingtest and stool antigen test are most widely used noninvasive tests,whereas serology is useful in screening and epidemiological studies. Molecular methods have been used in variable specimens other than gastric mucosa. More than detection of H. pylori infection,several tests are introduced into the evaluation of virulence factors and antibiotic sensitivity of H. pylori,as well as screening precancerous lesions and gastric cancer. The aim of this article is to review the current options and novel developments of diagnostic tests and their applications in different clinical conditions or for specific purposes.

AIM To compare the one-week clinical effects of single doses of dexlansoprazole and esomeprazole on grades A and B erosive *** We enrolled 175 adult patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD). The patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio into two sequence groups to define the order in which they received single doses of dexlansoprazole(n = 88) and esomeprazole(n = 87) for an intention-to-treat analysis. The primary endpoints were the complete symptom resolution(CSR) rates at days 1, 3, and 7 after drug *** Thirteen patients were lost to follow-up, resulting in 81 patients in each group for the per-protocol analysis. The CSRs for both groups were similar at days 1, 3 and 7. In the subgroup analysis, the female patients achieved higher CSRs in the dexlansoprazole group than in the esomeprazole group at day 3(38.3% vs 18.4%, P = 0.046). An increasing trend toward a higher CSR was observed in the dexlansoprazole group at day 7(55.3% vs 36.8%, P = 0.09). In the esomeprazole group, female sex was a negative predictive factor for CSR on post-administration day 1 [OR =-1.249 ± 0.543; 95%CI: 0.287(0.099-0.832), P = 0.022] and day 3 [OR =-1.254 ± 0.519; 95%CI: 0.285(0.103-0.789), P = 0.016]. Patients with spicy food eating habits achieved lower CSRs on day 1 [37.3% vs 21.4%, OR =-0.969 ± 0.438; 95%CI: 0.380(0.161-0.896), P = 0.027]. CONCLUSION The overall CSR for GERD patients was similar at days 1-7 for both the dexlansoprazole and esomeprazole groups, although a higher incidence of CSR was observed on day 3 in female patients who received a single dose of dexlansoprazole.

Impulsive thrust strategy for orbital pursuit-evasion games based on impulse-like constraint

This paper proposes a novel impulsive thrust strategy guided by optimal continuous thrust strategy to address two-player orbital pursuit-evasion game under impulsive thrust *** strategy seeks to enhance the interpretability of impulsive thrust strategy by integrating it within the framework of differential game in traditional continuous ***,this paper introduces an impulse-like constraint,with periodical changes in thrust amplitude,to characterize the impulsive thrust ***,the game with the impulse-like constraint is converted into the two-point boundary value problem,which is solved by the combined shooting and deep learning method proposed in this *** learning and numerical optimization are employed to obtain the guesses for unknown terminal adjoint variables and the game terminal ***,the accurate values are solved by the shooting method to yield the optimal continuous thrust strategy with the impulse-like ***,the shooting method is iteratively employed at each impulse decision moment to derive the impulsive thrust strategy guided by the optimal continuous thrust *** examples demonstrate the convergence of the combined shooting and deep learning method,even if the strongly nonlinear impulse-like constraint is *** effect of the impulsive thrust strategy guided by the optimal continuous thrust strategy is also discussed.

Unraveling the exceptional kinetics of Zn‖organic batteries in hydrated deep eutectic solution

Intuitively,the solvation structure featuring stronger interacted sheath in deep eutectic solution（DES）electrolyte would result in sluggish interfacial charge transfer and intense polarization,which obstructs its practical application in emerging Zn based ***,here we discover a Zn‖organic battery with exceptional kinetics properties enabled by a hydrated DES electrolyte,which can render higher discharge capacity,smaller voltage polarization,and faster kinetics of charge transfer in comparison with conventional aqueous 3 M ZnCl2electrolyte,though its viscosity is two orders of magnitude higher than the *** improved kinetics of charge transfer and ion diffusion is demonstrated to originate from the local electron structure regulation of cathode in hydrated DES ***,the DES electrolyte has also been shown to restrict parasitic reaction associated with active water by preferential urea-molecular adsorption on Zn surface and stronger water trapping in solvation structure,giving rise to long-term stable dendrite-free Zn plating/*** work provides a new rationale for understanding electrochemical behaviors of organic cathodes in DES electrolyte,which is conducive to the development of high-performance Zn‖organic batteries.

Vibration safety assessment and parameter analysis of buried oil pipelines based on vibration isolation holes under strong surface impact

Strong surface impact will produce strong vibration,which will pose a threat to the safety of nearby buried pipelines and other important lifeline *** on the verified numerical method,a comprehensive numerical parameter analysis is conducted on the key influencing factors of the vibration isolation hole(VIH),which include hole diameter,hole net spacing,hole depth,hole number,hole arrangement,and soil *** results indicate that a smaller ratio of net spacing to hole diameter,the deeper the hole,the multi-row hole,the hole adoption of staggered arrangements,and better site soil conditions can enhance the efficiency of the VIH *** average maximum vibration reduction efficiency within the vibration isolation area can reach 42.2%.The vibration safety of adjacent oil pipelines during a dynamic compaction projection was evaluated according to existing standards,and the measurement of the VIH was recommended to reduce excessive *** single-row vibration isolation scheme and three-row staggered arrangement with the same hole parameters are suggested according to different *** research findings can serve as a reference for the vibration safety analysis,assessment,and control of adjacent underground facilities under the influence of strong surface impact loads.

Software-defined process-near-memory architecture using 3D hybrid bonding integration

With the unprecedented explosive growing amount of global data, the development of computing chips, which encounter bottlenecks such as power wall and memory wall, cannot satisfy the demanding requirement. This work proposes a software-defined process-near-memory(SDPNM) computing architecture implemented using 3D hybrid bonding *** software-defined chip architecture, featuring spatial computations and dynamic reconfiguration, innovates in a top-down manner to achieve high energy efficiency while maintaining flexibility after fabrication. The process-near-memory integration further advances the SDNPM chip in a bottom-up way to reduce the energy consumption of data movement while improving the bandwidth. Utilizing a relatively mature fabrication and bonding process can result in feasible solutions for both data-intensive and compute-intensive applications including digital signal processing and artificial intelligence. The logic die is fabricated in the SMIC 40 nm process and the DRAM die is fabricated in the PSMC 25 nm process. The hybrid bonding is implemented by XMC. The experimental results show that the energy efficiency of the proposed SDPNM chip is 33.1× better than the state-of-the-art FPGA ranging from 8.2× to 104.1×.

Long-duration aqueous Zn-ion batteries achieved by dual-salt highly-concentrated electrolyte with low water activity

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their unique high safety and low-cost ***,their practical applications are at a slow pace due to their short cycle life,which fundamentally results from the instability of the positive/negative electrode interface in the traditional dilute aqueous electrolytes with high water *** highly concentrated electrolyte（HCE）has been considered as an effective *** previous studies of single salt-based HCE（SSHCE）,herein,a new dual-salt HCE（15 m ZnCl2+10 m NH4NH2SO3DS-HCE） was proposed for the first ***-HCE was proven to simultaneously possess higher conductivity than traditional dilute electrolytes and ultralow water activity of SS-HCE by the regulation of dual high-concentration salts on the solvation structure,which renders the Zn‖Zn symmetric cell the record-long cycling life of 2200 h compared with those with SS-HCE（30 m ZnCl2,300 h） and other reported ***,the Zn‖NH4V4O10full cell with DS-HCE demonstrated impressed rate capability within a wide-range current densities from 0.1 to 10 A ***,at the high current density of 5 A g-1,the full cell shows almost100% capacity retention after 4000 cycles,which indicates the promising future of the DS-HCE system for long-duration aqueous Zn-ion batteries.

Unveiling the promotion role of ZnO on Zn-Al spinel oxide for CO_(2)hydrogenation

The Zn-Al spinel oxide stands out as one of the most active catalysts for high-temperature methanol synthesis from CO_(2)***,the structure–activity relationship of the reaction remains poorly understood due to challenges in atomic-level structural characterizations and analysis of reaction *** this study,we prepared two Zn-Al spinel oxide catalysts via coprecipitation(ZnAl-C)and hydrothermal(ZnAl-H)methods,and conducted a comparative investigation in the CO_(2)hydrogenation ***,under similar conditions,ZnAl-C exhibited significantly higher selectivity towards methanol and DME compared to *** characterizations using X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)unveiled that ZnAl-C catalyst had abundant ZnO species on its surface,and the interaction between the ZnO species and its ZnAl spinel oxide matrix led to the formation of oxygen vacancies,which are crucial for CO_(2)adsorption and ***,state-of-the-art solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques,including ex-situ and in-situ NMR analyses,confirmed that the surface ZnO facilitates the formation of unique highly reactive interfacial formate species,which was readily hydrogenated to methanol and *** insights elucidate the promotion effects of ZnO on the ZnAl spinel oxide in regulating active sites and reactive intermediates for CO_(2)-to-methanol hydrogenation reaction,which is further evidenced by the significant enhancement in methanol and DME selectivity observed upon loading ZnO onto the ZnAl-H *** molecular-level mechanism understandings reinforce the idea of optimizing the ZnO-ZnAl interface through tailored synthesis methods to achieve activity-selectivity balance.
