In the present study, we investigated anti-inflammatory effects of Sangxingtang(SXT) on acute lung injury using a lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced acute lung injury(ALI) mouse model. The cell counting in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) was performed. The degree of lung edema was evaluated by measuring the wet/dry weight(W/D) ratio. The superoxidase dismutase(SOD) and myeloperoxidase(MPO) activities were assayed by SOD and MPO kits, respectively. The levels of inflammatory mediators, including tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-6(IL-6), were assayed by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay methods. Pathological changes of lung tissues were observed by Hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining. The inflammatory signaling pathway-related proteins nuclear factor mitogen activated protein kinases(P38MAPK), extracellular regulated protein kinases(Erk), c-Jun N-terminal kinase(Jnk) and nuclear transcription factor(NF-κB) p65 expressions were measured by Western blotting. Our results showed that the treatment with the SXT markedly attenuated the inflammatory cell numbers in the BALF, decreased the levels of P-P38 MAPK, P-Erk, P-Jnk and P-NF-κB p65 and the total protein levels in lungs, improved the SOD activity and inhibited the MPO activity. Histological studies demonstrated that SXT substantially reduced the LPS-induced neutrophils in lung tissues, compared with the untreated LPS group. In conclusion, our results indicated that SXT had protective effects on LPS-induced ALI in mice.

Continuing their work and based on the classification of metacyclic p-groups given by Newman and Xu, we give a complete classification of 2-generator equilibrated p-groups in this note.

Cu-catalyzed cross coupling between phosphinic amides and aryl halides was accomplished for the first time by using (±)-trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine as the ligand. This reaction provided a novel approach for synthesizing arylated phosphinic amides. Both kinetic measurement and theoretical calculation indicated that phosphinic amides were much less reactive than amides by about 10 times in Cu-catalyzed cross coupling.

Eight novel 1,4-disubstituted phthalazines （7-14） were designed and synthesized. The structures of all the synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR,1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Their in vitro cytotoxicity against cancer cell lines （Bel-7402 and HT- 1080） were evaluated by standard MTT assay. The spectral observations and analysis for the W80 region are presented by using the data of Medium-Resolution Spectroscopic Survey of Nebulae(MRS-N) with the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope(LAMOST).A total of 2982 high-quality nebular spectra have been obtained in the 20 square degree field of view which covers the W80 complex,and the largest sample of spectral data has been established for the first *** relative intensities,radial velocities(RVs),and full widths at half maximum(FWHMs) are measured with the high spectral resolution of LAMOST MRS-N,for Ha λ6563?,[NⅡ] λλ6548 A,6584 A,and [SⅡ] λλ6716A,6731 A emission *** the field of view of the whole W80 region,the strongest line emissions are found to be consistent with the bright nebulae NGC 7000,IC 5070,and LBN 391,and weak line emissions also exist in the Middle Region,where no bright nebulae are detected by the wide-band optical *** large-scale spectral observations of the W80 region reveal the systematic spatial variations of RVs and FWHMs,and several unique structural features.A "curved feature" to the east of NGC 7000,and a "jet feature" to the west of LBN 391 are detected to be showing larger RVs.A "wider FWHM region" is identified in the eastern part of NGC *** variations of[S Ⅱ]/Ha ratios display a gradient from southwest to northeast in the NGC 7000 region,and manifest a ring shape around the "W80 bubble" ionized by an O-type star in *** spectral and multi-band observations are guaranteed to investigate in detail the structural features.

Mixed farming of rice and millet is one of the basic agricultural modes in the upper and middle Huai River Valley(HRV). According to the latest data, this agricultural mode appeared during the middle and late Peiligang Culture(7.8–7.0 ka BP) in the upper HRV, and then became a common subsistence economy in the end of the Neolithic(5.0–4.0 ka BP) in both the upper and middle HRV. However, it is still not clear how this mixed farming developed in the upper HRV after its occurrence, nor are the regional differences in the development of mixed farming between the upper and middle HRV during the Neolithic completely understood. In this paper, flotation and starch analyses were conducted on samples from eight archaeological sites in the upper and middle HRV. The results indicate that the mixed farming of rice and millet first appeared in the later phase of the middle Neolithic in the regions of the Peiligang Culture, then developed quite rapidly in the late Neolithic(6.8–5.0 ka BP), finally becoming the main subsistence economy at the end of the Neolithic in the upper HRV. However, there are obvious differences in the emergence and development of agriculture between the middle and upper HRV. Rice farming was the only agricultural system during the middle Neolithic, lasting until the end of the Neolithic, when mixed farming appeared in the middle HRV. Furthermore, although mixed farming appeared in both the upper and middle HRV during the end of the Neolithic, the roles of rice, foxtail millet and broomcorn millet in the subsistence economy were not the same. In general, millet was more widely cultivated than rice in the upper HRV, but rice occupied the same or a slightly more prominent position in the middle HRV at the end of the Neolithic. These results are significant for understanding the process of agricultural development and transformation, as well as human adaptation to climatic and cultural variability duringthe Neolithic.

Gibberellic acid （GA） regulates many aspects of plant growth and development. The DELLA proteins act to restrain plant growth, and GA relieves this repression by promoting their degradation via the 26S proteasome pathway. The elucidation of the crystalline structure of the GA soluble receptor GID1 protein represents an important breakthrough for understanding the way in which GA is perceived and how it induces the destabilization of the DELLA proteins. Recent advances have revealed that the DELLA proteins are involved in protein-protein interactions within various environmental and hormone signaling pathways. In this review, we highlight our current understanding of the ＇relief of repression＇ model that aims to explain the role of GA and the function of the DELLA proteins, incorporating the many aspects of cross-talk shown to exist in the control of plant development and the response to stress.

AIM： TO investigate the characteristics and diagnostic value of annexin A2 （ANXA2） expression in cancerous tissues and sera of patients with hepatitis B virus （HBV）-related hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC）. METHODS： Levels of liver ANXA2 gene transcription or protein expression were analyzed in HCC-, their self- controlled precancerous-, and distant cancerous- tissues from 30 HCC. Serum levels of ANXA2 expression in 115 patients with HCC, 25 with metastatic liver can cer, 35 with chronic hepatitis, 28 with acute hepatitis, 38 with cirrhosis, and 30 healthy controls were deter- mined. Clinicopathological characteristics of circulating ANXA2 expression were analyzed, and its diagnostic efficiency and clinical values in HCC were evaluated. RESULTS： ANXA2 expression was localized in both cell membrane and cytoplasm in HCC tissue, mainly in the cytoplasm of matched adjacent cancerous tissue, and there was almost no positive staining in matched distant cancerous tissue. Abnormal expression of liver ANXA2 was present in HCC tissues compared with self-con- trolled adjacent- and distant-cancerous tissues at pro- tein or mRNA level. Circulating ANXA2 in HCC patients was significantly higher than that of other liver diseases （P 〈 0.01） except metastatic liver cancer. If the diag- nostic cutoff value of ANXA2 level was more than 18 ng/ mL, the incidence of serum ANXA2 was 86.96% in the HCC group, 80% in the metastatic liver cancer group, 31.58% in the liver cirrhosis group, none in the chronic hepatitis or acute hepatitis or normal control group, respectively. Serum ANXA2 expression in HCC patients was correlated with HBV infection （27.38 ± 5.67 ng/mL vs 18.58 ± 7.83 ng/mL, P 〈 0.01）, extrahepatic metas- tasis （26.11±5.43 ng/mL ys 22.79 ± 5.64 ng/mL, P 〈 0.01）, and portal vein thrombus （26.03 ± 5.99 ng/mL vs 23.06 ± 5.03 ng/mL, P 〈 0.01）, and was significantly higher （P 〈 0.01） in the moderately- （26.19±5.34 ng/ mL） or the poorly- differentiated group （27.05 ± 5.13 ng/mL） than in
