Augite-based glass ceramics were synthesised using ZnO,FeO,and Fe_(2)O_(3)as additives,and the spinel formation,matrix structure,crystallisation thermodynamics,and physicochemical properties were *** results showed that oxides resulted in numerous preliminary spinels in the glass ***,ZnO,and Fe_(2)O_(3)influenced the formation of spinel,while FeO simplified the glass *** and ZnO promoted bulk crystallisation of the parent *** adding oxides,the grains of augite phase were refined,and the relative quantities of augite crystal planes were also *** samples displayed good mechanical properties and chemical *** 2wt%ZnO-doping sample displayed the maximum flexural strength(170.3 MPa).Chromium leaching amount values of all the samples were less than the national standard(1.5 mg/L),confirming the safety of the *** conclusion,an appropriate amount of zinc-containing raw material is beneficial for the preparation of augite-based glass ceramics.

Vaporization behavior （1163-1463 K） of lead in the slag system of FeO-CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 with CaC% was examined. A thermodynamic estimation with the principle of Gibbs free energy minimization showed that the major vapor species from the sample of the FeO-CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 system＋PbO＋CaCl2 were metallic Pb, PbCl, PbCl2, and FeCl2, at the experimental temperature range. The experimental results show that the mole ratio of vaporized Cl in lead chlorides to vaporized Pb, simply expressed as Cl/Pb decreases with increasing temperature. The larger Cl/Pb means a larger ratio of gaseous PbCl2, since metallic Pb and PbCl vapors are formed in a similar reduction atmosphere. The evaporation is initially rapid and becomes steady after holding for 10 min. Gaseous PbCl2 is mainly formed during the heating period, and at the holding stage, it reacts with FeO to produce gaseous FeCl2 With regard to slag composition, FeO content and basicity significantly affect the evaporation of lead. High FeO content and high basicity promotes the formation of metallic Pb and PbCI, whereas, it prohibits PbCl2 evaporation.

The effect of Al_(2)O_(3) content on the viscosity and structure of CaO-SiO_(2)-Cr_(2)O_(3)Al_(2)O_(3) slags was investigated to facilitate recycling of Cr in steelmaking *** slags exhibit good Newtonian behavior at high *** viscosity of acidic slag first increases from 0.825 to 1.141 Pa·s as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases from 0 to 10wt%and then decreases to 1.071 Pa·s as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases further to 15wt%.The viscosity of basic slag first increases from 0.084 to 0.158 Pa·s as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases from 0 to 15wt%and then decreases to 0.135 Pa·s as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases further to 20wt%.Furthermore,Cr_(2)O_(3)containing slag requires less Al_(2)O_(3) to reach the maximum viscosity than Cr_(2)O_(3)free slag;the Al_(2)O_(3) contents at which the behavior changes are 10wt%and 15wt%for acidic and basic slags,*** ac-tivation energy of the slags is consistent with the viscosity *** spectra demonstrate that[AlO_(4)]tetrahedra appear initially and were replaced by[AlO_(6)]octahedra with further addition of Al_(2)O_(3).The dissolved organic phosphorus content of the slag first increases and then de-creases with increasing Al_(2)O_(3) content,which is consistent with the viscosity and Raman results.

To investigate the effect of surface-modified nanoparticles(NPs)on the inclusion refinement and microstructure evolution,deoxidized experiment ingots with different amounts of modified NPs were manufactured under different cooling *** scanning confocal microscope(LSCM)was hereby used for in-situ observation of the phase transition and microstructural evolution during heat cycle *** results revealed that the inclusion size was always smaller under water quenching than under air cooling,and the number of inclusions was greater under water *** NP addition,the nucleant inclusions were identified as MgAl_(2)O_(4)spinel and irregular TiN inclusion from SEM-EDS measurement and equilibrium calculations using Factsage thermodynamic *** higher cooling rate under water quenching resulted in less polygonal ferrite decrease and the formation of bainite in the *** LSCM experiments showed that ferrite side plates(FSP)always formed on the boundary prior to the formation of acicular ferrite(AF)on the intragranular inclusions,and the start transformation temperatures of FSP and AF phases both lowered after NP *** higher cooling rate and NP addition contributed to AF formation and increased the degree of interlocking of the AF ***,the relationship between the characteristics of inclusions and the kinetics of AF was investigated.

Owing to excellent strength, toughness and corrosion resistance, duplex stainless steels(DSS) are widely used in constructional and petrochemical applications. Sigma phase, which has detrimental impact on the properties, is readily precipitated during hot working of DSS. However, precipitation behavior of sigma phase during superplastic deformation, which is the most significant processing method of DSS, is still unclear. In the current study,the effect of superplastic deformation on the precipitation behavior of sigma phase was investigated in 3207 duplex stainless steel. The result shows that superplastic deformation could prevent sigma phase precipitation generally by increasing mobility of grain boundaries and decreasing misorientation of the sigma phase boundaries, resulting in some sigma phase precipitated on the twin boundaries. Most of the sigma phase precipitated on ferrite-austenite interface with misorientation of 20–25°, while it precipitated in ferrite or austenite with the misorientation of 40°–45°. The orientation relationship between sigma phase and matrix matched well in austenite and on the ferrite/austenite interfaces, while it showed a small misfit in ferrite. The prevention effect of the superplastic deformation on the sigma phase precipitation was beneficial to quasi stable deformation stage,resulting in longer elongation.
