Role of ammonia in forming secondary aerosols from gasoline vehicle exhaust

Ammonia(NH3) plays vital roles in new particle formation and atmospheric chemistry. Although previous studies have revealed that it also influences the formation of secondary organic aerosols(SOA) from ozonolysis of biogenic and anthropogenic volatile organic compounds(VOCs), the influence of NH3 on particle formation from complex mixtures such as vehicle exhausts is still poorly understood. Here we directly introduced gasoline vehicles exhausts(GVE) into a smog chamber with NH3 absorbed by denuders to examine the role of NH3 in particle formation from GVE. We found that removing NH3 from GVE would greatly suppress the formation and growth of particles. Adding NH3 into the reactor after 3 h photo-oxidation of GVE, the particle number concentration and mass concentrations jumped explosively to much higher levels, indicating that the numbers and mass of particles might be enhanced when aged vehicle exhausts are transported to rural areas and mixed with NH3-rich plumes. We also found that the presence of NH3 had no significant influence on SOA formation from GVE. Very similar oxygen to carbon(O:C) and hydrogen to carbon(H:C) ratios resolved by aerosol mass spectrometer with and without NH3 indicated that the presence of NH3 also had no impact on the average carbon oxidation state of SOA from GVE.

Development of transplanting manipulator for hydroponic leafy vegetables

The production of hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings uses coco-peat as culture substrate in South ***-peat has lowered density than peat-moss,and the friction between substrate block and pickup tool is ***,it is hard to pick up in mechanism *** order to increase the friction,the existing transplanting manipulator had relatively complex *** simplify the structure of transplanting manipulator and improve the stability of picking up substrate block,four stainless steel fingers with rectangular cross-section were used in this research.A vertical driving was used to realize the coupling effect that could insert and shrink at the same time,by applying different combination of constraints to the steel *** could increase friction between the steel fingers and the substrate block,and then enhance the stability of the substrate *** combinations of constraints were applied to the rectangular stainless steel fingers(3 mm×0.8 mm).The working videos of steel fingers were taken by high-speed ***-speed motioned analysis software was used to acquire and analyze traces of steel fingers *** the length which top end of the steel fingers moved outward(M)is equal to 1.5 mm,the length which guiding part widened(N)is equal to 1 mm,the shrinking distance of steel fingers is 4.2 *** this research,16-day hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings were used for performance,which cultivated with coco-peat substrate with the moisture in the substrate at 81%.The transplanting manipulator was attached to a Denso robotic arm to conduct transplanting performance *** the shrinking distance of steel fingers increased from 0 mm to 3.2 mm and the inserting angle decreased from 80°to 77°,the lifting force of substrate block increased by 118%from 1.45 N to 3.16 ***,excessive shrinkage stirred the substrate block,which would reduce the friction between the substrate block and pickup parts and lowered the l

Heat stress caused by global warming requires the development of thermotolerant crops to sustain *** is necessary to understand the molecular mechanisms that underlie heat tolerance in ***(SLs)are a class of carotenoid-derived phytohormones that regulate plant development and responses to abiotic or biotic *** SL biosynthesis and signaling processes are well established,genes that directly regulate SL biosynthesis have rarely been ***,we report that the MYB-like transcription factor AtMYBS1/AtMYBL,whose gene expression is repressed by heat stress,functions as a negative regulator of heat tolerance by directly inhibiting SL biosynthesis in *** of AtMYBS1 led to heat hypersensitivity,whereas atmybs1 mutants displayed increased heat *** of MAX1,a critical enzyme in SL biosynthesis,was induced by heat stress and downregulated in AtMYBS1-overexpression(OE)plants but upregulated in atmybs1 *** of MAX1 in the AtMYBS1-OE background reversed the heat hypersensitivity of AtMYBS1-OE *** of MAX1 function in the atmyb1 background reversed the heat-tolerant phenotypes of atmyb1 *** one-hybrid assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation‒qPCR,and transgenic analyses demonstrated that AtMYBS1 directly represses MAX1 expression through the MYB binding site in the MAX1 promoter in *** atmybs1d14 double mutant,like d14 mutants,exhibited hypersensitivity to heat stress,indicating the necessary role of SL signaling in AtMYBS1-regulated heat *** findings provide new insights into the regulatory network of SL biosynthesis,facilitating the breeding of heat-tolerant crops to improve crop production in a warming world.

Development of a high-productivity grafting robot for Solanaceae

Grafting is a green,environmentally friendly,and sustainable way to prevent soil-borne *** artificial grafting is the main grafting approach used for grafting production,it has some problems which are low productivity,unstable operating quality and ***,some countries have been engaged in the development of grafting robots for the past two decades;however,the productivity of these grafting robots has no advantage when compared to artificial *** study aims to develop a high-productivity grafting robot(HPR)for *** improve grafting productivity,this paper adopted plug trays to feed crown-removed rootstocks automatically and carried out multi-plant simultaneous grafting to improve grafting productivity and *** were employed to take out rootstocks,increase the distance between them,and transfer them to transfer cups for the simultaneous multi-plant *** the same time,negative pressure mechanisms were designed for speeding up the auxiliary feeding of root-removed *** the HPR was designed in a two-operator mode,a one-operator mode can also be implemented by adjusting the control *** were conducted by varying the artificial feeding speed to analyze the performance of the grafting *** results showed that the productivity of the robot in the two-operator mode was 2250 plants/h,and 1542 plants/h in one-operator mode;comparing the artificial feeding productivity with auto grafting productivity,it was found that the capacity of the grafting robot was higher than the feeding speed of the one-operator mode but lower than that of the two-operator mode.

Superconductivity and normal state magnetoresistance in superconducting FeSe:Sb

We prepared a series of β-FeSe samples with a nominal composition of Fe1.11Se1-xSbx(0≤x≤0.5).The X-ray diffraction,transport and magnetic measurements were performed on these samples to investigate the structure,the superconducting properties and the normal state transport and magnetic *** the X-ray diffraction data suggested that Sb atoms were not incorporated into the β-FeSe phase,the transport data showed observable changes of superconductivity,normal state resistivity and *** was represented by the increase in the superconducting transition temperature and the upper critical ***,for the samples with a low level of Sb content,a clear decrease of the normal state resistivity and a substantial increase of the residual resistance ratio were ***,the samples showed a significant increase of the normal state magnetoresistance that appeared not to follow the Kohler's *** results were discussed in the frame of reduction of excess Fe at interstitial sites of β-FeSe.

本文通过自然空气、低温、流水、超声波及微波5种方法对冷冻驴肉进行解冻,分析解冻时间、解冻后驴肉的食用品质(保水性、嫩度、色泽及pH值)、挥发性盐基氮(TVB-N)和硫代巴比妥酸值(TBARS)的变化,并对解冻后的驴肉进行感官评价。结果表明,不同方式解冻冷冻驴肉所需时间差异明显,依次为微波<超声波<流水<自然空气<低温。冷冻驴肉经微波、低温和超声波方式处理后色泽保持最好,微波解冻和低温解冻后驴肉的保水性最好;低温解冻和超声波解冻后驴肉的剪切力显著小于其他解冻方法;微波解冻的TVB-N值和TBARS值最低,但剪切力值较大。低温解冻和微波解冻的驴肉与鲜驴肉相比具有良好的感官体验。综上,微波解冻能够较好地保持驴肉的品质,但解冻条件仍需要进一步优化。

Atomic-scale computer simulation for ternary alloy Ni-Cr-Al during early precipitation process

The aging behaviors of Ni-Cr-Al ternary alloy are studied at temperature 873 K based on the mean-field theory, and the early precipitation process is simulated at atomic-scale with microscopic phase-field model. The precipitation mechanism of the low supersaturated alloy Ni-12.2at. %Cr-7.8at. %Al is non-classical nucleation and growth, the L12 structure (Ni3Al) and D022 structure (Ni3Cr) phases precipitate simultaneously, a part of D022 phase transmits to Ll2 structure phase, and other part retains its previous structure. For high supersaturated alloy, congruent ordering appears first, then followed by spinodal decomposition, the nonstoicheometric ordered phases are produced in this process, which occurs before clustering. The precipitation mechanism of Ni-8at. %Cr-18at. % Al alloy is similar to Ni-10at. %Cr-12at. %AI alloy, but the ordering process of the former is ahead of the latter.

The early precipitation process of Ni-Al alloy was studied on the atomic scale based on the microscopic phase-field kinetic *** investigated the effect of elastic strain energy on precipitation mechanism and morphological evolution of the *** results show that at the early stage of precipitation,γ’ ordered phase presents non-directional and irregular shape during the process of aging,the γ’ ordered phases change into the quadrate shape and their orientations become more obvious; at the later stage,the γ’ precipitates present quadrate shape with round corner and align along the [100] and [010] *** mechanism of early precipitation for Ni-13at.%A1 alloy is the mixed mechanism of non-classical nucleation growth and spinodal decomposition and near to non-classical nucle-ation growth,and the mechanism of early precipitation for Ni-15.8at.% Al alloy is the mixed mechanism of non-classical nucleation growth and spinodal decomposition and near to spinodal decomposition.

The diiodotetrafluoroethane I(CF)I and its derivatives I(MF)I(M = C,Si, Ge, Sn) have been widely used in the field of liquid crystal [1]. In this work,the regions of positive electrostatic potentials(σ-hole) outside the iodine in I(MF)I along the extension of the C-I bond have been discovered. The σ-hole interactions[2] between I(MF2)nI and Clˉ have been designed and investigated by MP/aug-cc-PVDZ calculations together with the Los Alamos National Laboratory 2-Double-Zeta(LANL2DZ) pseudopotential basis set for iodine and stannum. The energy decomposition analyses demonstrate that the exchange energy is the largest contribution for forming the σ-hole interaction. Meanwhile,the electrostatic energy is also an important factor for the I…Cl *** σ-hole interactions of I(MF)nI…Cl(M = C, Ge, Sn) belong to partial-covalent interactions. While, they are noncovalent interactions when M= Si.
