Crystalline-amorphous M@MNx（M=Co,Fe,Ni）encapsulated in nitrogen-doped carbon for enhanced efficient and durable hydrogen evolution reaction

Developing earth-abundant electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction（HER） is important for the sustainable energy economy.Herein,efficient and stable heterocatalysts consisting of crystalline-amorphous M@MNx（M=Co,Fe,Ni） encapsulated in N-doped carbon layers supported with N-doped graphene sheets（denoted as M@MNx@NC-NG） are synthesized by facile hydrothermal reaction and nitridation process.During the nitriding process,metal ions in M（tzbc）2（H2O）4(tzbc=4-（1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl） benzoic acid) complexes are reduced to crystalline M cores,accompanied by the formation of amorphous MNxshells;the tzbc ligands are insitu carbonized to form outermost N-doped carbon（NC）layers that connect with inner MNxvia M-N-C motifs inherited from the complex precursors and inhibit the transition of MNxfrom amorphous to crystalline phase.The Co@CoNx@NC-NG catalyst exhibits excellent HER activity with small overpotentials of 45 and 64 mV at a cathode current density of 10 mA·cm-2and low Tafel slopes of 40 and 85 mV·dec-1in 0.5 mol·L-1H2SO4and1.0 mol·L-1KOH electrolytes,respectively.The Co@CoNx@NC-NG retains 97% of the initial overpotential after 100,000 s in both acidic and alkaline media.Such outstanding HER performance originates from the crystalline-amorphous Co@CoNxthat redistributes electrons around the heterointerfaces,facilitating the conversion process of H+/H2O to hydrogen and thereby promoting HER kinetics.The outermost NC layers serve as the armor of Co@CoNx,and graphene nanosheets act as carriers of egg-like Co@CoNx@NC and conduction paths for electron shuttles,ensuring stable and continuous electrocatalytic hydrogen production.

Objective:This study explores the mechanism of action of Danhongqing formula(DHQ),a compoundbased Chinese medicine formula,in the treatment of cholestatic liver fibrosis.Methods:In vivo experiments were conducted using 8-week-old multidrug resistance protein 2 knockout(Mdr2-/-)mice as an animal model of cholestatic liver fibrosis.DHQ was administered orally for 8 weeks,and its impact on cholestatic liver fibrosis was evaluated by assessing liver function,liver histopathology,and the expression of liver fibrosis-related proteins.Real-time polymerase chain reaction,Western blot,immunohistochemistry and other methods were used to observe the effects of DHQ on long non-coding RNA H19(H19)and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)phosphorylation in the liver tissue of Mdr2-/-mice.In addition,cholangiocytes and hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)were cultured in vitro to measure the effects of bile acids on cholangiocyte injury and H19 expression.Cholangiocytes overexpressing H19 were constructed,and a conditioned medium containing H19 was collected to measure its effects on STAT3 protein expression and cell activation.The intervention effect of DHQ on these processes was also investigated.HSCs overexpressing H19 were constructed to measure the impact of H19 on cell activation and assess the intervention effect of DHQ.Results:DHQ alleviated liver injury,ductular reaction,and fibrosis in Mdr2-/-mice,and inhibited H19expression,STAT3 expression and STAT3 phosphorylation.This formula also reduced hydrophobic bile acid-induced cholangiocyte injury and the upregulation of H19,inhibited the activation of HSCs induced by cholangiocyte-derived conditioned medium,and decreased the expression of activation markers in HSCs.The overexpression of H19 in a human HSC line confirmed that H19 promoted STAT3 phosphorylation and HSC activation,and DHQ was able to successfully inhibit these effects.Conclusion:DHQ effectively alleviated spontaneous cholestatic liver fibrosis in Mdr2-/-mice by inhibiting H19 upregulation in chol

Effect of early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on function and quality of life in sepsis patients

BACKGROUND Sepsis,as a non-limiting host infection disease,can be accompanied by serious complications such as organ failure,which seriously threatens patient quality of life.AIM To investigate the effect of early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on cardiopulmonary function and quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.METHODS A total of 80 patients with sepsis who were hospitalized in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and divided into the observation group(n=40)and the control group(n=40)according to the random number table method.The observation group was treated with early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation,and the control group was treated with a conventional treatment regimen.Cardiac function indexes(central venous pressure,cardiac troponin I,B-type brain natriuretic peptide),lung function indicators(diaphragmatic mobility,changes in central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index),and quality of life(Quality of Life Evaluation Scale)were compared between the two groups after treatment.RESULTS After treatment,the central venous pressure,diaphragm mobility,central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index,and Quality of Life Evaluation Scale scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The observation group was less than that of the control group for other parameters,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation can effectively enhance cardiac and pulmonary function and improve the quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.

A Comparative Study of the Power-law Relationship between the Pulse width and Energy of Precursor and Main Burst

In gamma-ray burst prompt emission,there is still no consistent conclusion if the precursor and main burst share the same origin.In this paper,we try to study this issue based on the relationship between pulse width and energy of the precursor and main burst.We systematically search the light curve data observed by Swift/BAT and Fermi/GBM,and find 13 long bursts with well-structured precursors and main bursts.After fitting the precursor light curve of each different energy channel with the Norris function,we find that there is not only a power-law relationship between precursor width and energy,but also a power-law relationship between the ratio of the rising width to the decaying width and energy.By comparing the relationship between the precursors and the main burst pulses,we find that the distribution of the precursors and the relationship between the power-law indices are roughly the same as those of the main burst.In addition,it is found that the precursor width distribution as well as the upper limit of the pulse width ratio does not exceed 1 and both are asymmetric,which are also consistent with the main burst.These indicate that the precursor and the main burst are indistinguishable,and the precursor and the main burst may have the same physical origin.

The influence of solute Ce,Mn,and Si on the mechanical properties of silicon steel was investigated by first-principles calculation.Ce,Mn,and Si can all be solubilized in Fe matrix.Ce significantly reduces the incompressibility and rigidity of the system but also significantly improves the toughness and machinability.The effect of Mn on mechanical properties of the system is not obvious.Si has a significant effect on the improvement in incompressibility and rigidity but a limited effect on the improvement in toughness and machinability.The metallic bond strength of Fe-Ce,Fe-Mn,and Fe-Si doped systems is weaker than that of the pure Fe system,which can be used to explain the reduction in the incompressibility and rigidity of these doped systems.The relatively high electron cloud density in the doped system may be responsible for the increase in toughness.

A survey on model-based reinforcement learning

Reinforcement learning(RL) interacts with the environment to solve sequential decision-making problems via a trial-and-error approach. Errors are always undesirable in real-world applications, even though RL excels at playing complex video games that permit several trial-and-error attempts. To improve sample efficiency and thus reduce errors, model-based reinforcement learning(MBRL) is believed to be a promising direction, as it constructs environment models in which trial-and-errors can occur without incurring actual costs. In this survey, we investigate MBRL with a particular focus on the recent advancements in deep RL. There is a generalization error between the learned model of a non-tabular environment and the actual environment. Consequently, it is crucial to analyze the disparity between policy training in the environment model and that in the actual environment, guiding algorithm design for improved model learning, model utilization, and policy training. In addition, we discuss the recent developments of model-based techniques in other forms of RL, such as offline RL, goal-conditioned RL, multi-agent RL, and meta-RL. Furthermore,we discuss the applicability and benefits of MBRL for real-world tasks. Finally, this survey concludes with a discussion of the promising future development prospects for MBRL. We believe that MBRL has great unrealized potential and benefits in real-world applications, and we hope this survey will encourage additional research on MBRL.

Photocatalytic in situ H2O2 production and activation for enhanced ciprofloxacin degradation over CeO2-Co3O4/g-C3N4:key role of CeO2

The abused ciprofloxacin antibiotics have caused significant environmental damage.Although oxidative degradation of ciprofloxacin exhibits promising efficacy,it often entails excessive energy consumption.Hence,it is necessary to explore an effective and ecologically sustainable degradation strategy.Herein,we demonstrated that g-C3N4decorated with the coordinated CeO2and Co3O4（CeO2-Co3O4/CN） exhibited effective ciprofloxacin photodegradation via in situ H2O2production and activation mechanism.Results indicate that the introduced CeO2enhances the transference of photogenerated electrons to O2by adjusting the oxygen vacancy of photocatalyst,thereby increasing the generation of superoxide radicals,which in turn generate H2O2,resulting in a 22.4-fold increase in H2O2generation over g-C3N4.Moreover,the in situ H2O2generation facilitated by CeO2is confirmed to be essential for ciprofloxacin degradation via CeO2-Co3O4/CN,as it provides enough oxidant for Co3O4to activate into hydroxyl radicals for the pollutants degradation.Ultimately,CeO2-Co3O4/CN achieves a ciprofloxacin degradation ratio of 97.7% within 80 min.This study introduces a novel approach that combines H2O2generation and activation,offering an innovative perspective for achieving clean and efficient purification of antibiotic-contaminated water.

Primary pancreatic peripheral T-cell lymphoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Primary pancreatic lymphoma(PPL)is an exceedingly rare tumor with limited mention in scientific literature.The clinical manifestations of PPL are often nonspecific,making it challenging to distinguish this disease from other panc-reatic-related diseases.Chemotherapy remains the primary treatment for these individuals.CASE SUMMARY In this case study,we present the clinical details of a 62-year-old woman who initially presented with vomiting,abdominal pain,and dorsal pain.On further evaluation through positron emission tomography-computed tomography,the patient was considered to have a pancreatic head mass.However,subsequent endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA)revealed that the patient had pancreatic peripheral T-cell lymphoma,not otherwise specified(PTCL-NOS).There was a substantial decrease in the size of the pancreatic mass after the patient underwent a cycle of chemotherapy comprised of brentuximab vedotin,decitabine,and oxaliplatin(brentuximab vedotin and Gemox).The patient had significant improvement in radiological findings at the end of the first cycle.CONCLUSION Primary pancreatic PTCL-NOS is a malignant and heterogeneous lymphoma,in which the clinical manifestations are often nonspecific.It is difficult to diagnose,and the prognosis is poor.Imaging can only be used for auxiliary diagnosis of other diseases.With the help of immunostaining,EUS-FNA could be used to aid in the diagnosis of PPL.After a clear diagnosis,chemotherapy is still the first-line treatment for such patients,and surgical resection is not recommended.A large number of recent studies have shown that the CD30 antibody drug has potential as a therapy for several types of lymphoma.However,identifying new CD30-targeted therapies for different types of lymphoma is urgently needed.In the future,further research on antitumor therapy should be carried out to improve the survival prognosis of such patients.

Polyoxometalates-derived ternary metal oxides electrocatalyst for N_(2) reduction under ambient conditions

Accelerating the breaking of the nitrogen nonpolar bond(N≡N)is an important factor to improve the effi ciency of the electro-catalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(e-NRR).In this work,polyoxometalates-derived FeMo-based ternary oxide materials MoO_(2)-Mo_(4)O_(11)-FeMoO_(4)@X(abbreviated as MoFeO@X,X represents the synthesis temperature of 650,750 and 850℃)were designed and synthesized for e-NRR under ambient conditions.The scanning electron microscopy images of MoFeO@750 show an ellipsoidal-like structure(0.86×0.6μm).The relatively large specifi c surface area,formation of multiple interfaces,together with the synergistic eff ect of iron and molybdenum bimetals,would make MoFeO@X catalyst more easily absorb and activate N_(2)in the e-NRR.Expectedly,the synthesized MoFeO@750 shows an optimal NH_(3)production rate of 16.57μg·h^(−1)·mg cat.^(−1)and Faradaic effi ciency of 12.33%at−0.3 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(νs.RHE),with outstanding electrochemical and structural stability.

2D–3D dual carbon layer confined ultrasmall VN nanoparticles for improving lithium-ion storage in hybrid capacitors

Lithium-ion capacitors(LICs) of achieving high power and energy density have garnered significant attention. However, the kinetics unbalance between anode and cathode can impede the application of LICs. Vanadium nitride(VN) with a high theoretical specific capacity(~ 1200 m Ah·g^(-1)) is a better pseudocapacitive anode to match the response of cathode in LICs. However, the insertion/extraction of Li-ions in VN's operation results in significant volume expansion. Herein, the VN/N-r GO-5composite that three-dimentional(3D) dicyandiamidederived-carbon(DDC) tightly wrapped VN quantum dots(VN QDTs) on two-dimentional(2D) reduced graphene oxid(r GO) was prepared by a facile strategy. The VN QDTs can reduce ion diffusion length and improve charge transfer kinetics. The 2D r GO as a template provides support for nanoparticle dispersion and improves electrical conductivity. The 3D DDC tightly encapsulated with VN QDTs mitigates agglomeration of VN particles as well as volume expansion. Correspondingly, the LICs with VN/Nr GO-5 composite as anode and activated carbon(AC) as cathode were fabricated, which exhibits a high energy density and power density. Such strategy provides a perspective for improving the electrochemical properties of LIC anode materials by suppressing volume expansion and enhancing conductivity.
