The liver is a unique parenchymal organ with a regenerative capacity allowing it to restore up to 70%of its *** knowledge of this phenomenon dates back to Greek mythology(the story of Prometheus),many aspects of liver regeneration are still not understood.A variety of different factors,including inflammatory cytokines,growth factors,and bile acids,promote liver regeneration and control the final size of the organ during typical regeneration,which is performed by mature hepatocytes,and during alternative regeneration,which is performed by recently identified resident stem cells called“hepatic progenitor cells”.Hepatic progenitor cells drive liver regeneration when hepatocytes are unable to restore the liver mass,such as in cases of chronic injury or excessive acute *** liver maintenance,the body mass ratio is essential for homeostasis because the liver has numerous functions;therefore,a greater understanding of this process will lead to better control of liver injuries,improved transplantation of small grafts and the discovery of new methods for the treatment of liver *** current review sheds light on the key molecular pathways and cells involved in typical and progenitor-dependent liver mass regeneration after various acute or chronic *** studies and a better understanding of liver regeneration will lead to the development of new therapeutic methods for liver diseases.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease,leading to fibrosis,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and also associated with increased cardiovascular disease *** pathogenesis of NAFLD is not fully understood,although NAFLD is thought to be a hepatic form of metabolic *** is an increasing understanding of the role of microbiota disturbances in NAFLD pathogenesis,and as with many other conditions affecting the microbiota,NAFLD may be a novel risk factor for Clostridioides difficile(***)colonization(CDC)and *** infection(CDI).CDI is an emerging nosocomial disease,and community-acquired cases of infection are growing,probably due to an increase in CDC *** association of NAFLD with CDI has been shown in only 4 studies to date,three of which included less than 1000 patients,although the frequency of NAFLD in these studies was observed in almost 20%of the total patient *** data revealed that NAFLD is a risk factor for CDI development and,moreover,is a risk factor for intestinal complications of *** studies are needed to investigate this association and move forward CDC and CDI screening efforts for this group of patients.

BACKGROUND Primary liver teratoma is an extremely rare tumor usually affecting children under the age of 3 *** signs of teratoma on ultrasound,computed tomography(CT)or magnetic resonance imaging are lacking,which makes morphology the only diagnostic *** of a mature teratoma may lead to excessive liver resection,whereas misdiagnosis of an immature teratoma may result in spread,causing a life-threatening ***,a careful tumor examination is important,and the rarest types of tumors must be accounted *** SUMMARY We describe a 52 years old female who presented with a solid mass in the left liver ***-enhanced CT and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)revealed a round,heterogeneous lesion containing a number of fluid areas and areas of calcification in the middle,and the provisional diagnosis was *** patient underwent resection of liver segment *** analysis of the resected lesion indicated thyroid follicular epithelium;however,the thyroid gland was intact.10 years prior to presentation the patient underwent a surgery due to mature teratoma of the right ovary,nevertheless the tumor was benign and could not spread to the liver,in addition teratoma of the liver was also *** led to the final diagnosis of primary mature liver *** Primary hepatic teratoma,including heterotopia of the thyroid gland in the liver,is an extremely rare condition in adults that needs to be considered in the differential diagnosis of solid-cystic neoplasms in the liver and *** case adds to the limited literature on the patient presentation,clinical workup and management of liver teratomas.

A Three-Dimensional Multi-scale Plasticity Model for Metal-Intermetallic Laminate Composites Containing Phases of the L12 Structure

A three-dimensional plasticity model was developed and applied to metal-intermetallic laminate composites containingphases of the L12 structure. A multi-scale approach that combined the methods of continuum mechanics and dislocationkinetics was used. This model takes account of the different mechanisms of self-locking superdislocations, the dislocationsand the dislocation walls＇ density storage for each type of layer at the micro-scale. At the meso-scale, the solutions to thedislocation kinetics equations, in the form of stress-strain curves, were used to create the properties of a three-dimensionalrepresentative element. The numerical simulation study of the macroscopic deformation was carried out with the finiteelement method using the dynamic model of continuum mechanics, which included the classical conservation laws,constitutive equations and the equation of state. It was shown that the simulation results generated using this model were ingood agreement with the mechanical tests conducted on the single crystals of the L12 structure. The model provides anexcellent description of the high-temperature plastic strain superlocalization effect of single crystal intermetallics of theLI2 structure. This paper describes the numerical results of the study of the tension and compression tests of metal-intermetallic laminate composites containing phases of the L12 structure. The model allows the description of the dis-tribution of the accumulated plastic strain inhomogeneities and is capable of predicting the strengthening properties andplastic behaviour of the metal-intermetallic laminate composites containing phases of the L12 structure.

Crystal structure prediction at finite temperatures

Crystal structure prediction is a central problem of crystallography and materials science, which until mid-2000s was consideredintractable. Several methods, based on either energy landscape exploration or, more commonly, global optimization, largely solvedthis problem and enabled fully non-empirical computational materials discovery. A major shortcoming is that, to avoid expensivecalculations of the entropy, crystal structure prediction was done at zero Kelvin, reducing to the search for the global minimum ofthe enthalpy rather than the free energy. As a consequence, high-temperature phases (especially those which are not quenchableto zero temperature) could be missed. Here we develop an accurate and affordable solution, enabling crystal structure prediction atfinite temperatures. Structure relaxation and fully anharmonic free energy calculations are done by molecular dynamics with aforcefield (which can be anything from a parametric forcefield for simpler cases to a trained on-the-fly machine learning interatomicpotential), the errors of which are corrected using thermodynamic perturbation theory to yield accurate results with full ab initioaccuracy. We illustrate this method by applications to metals (probing the P–T phase diagram of Al and Fe), a refractory covalentsolid (WB), an Earth-forming silicate MgSiO_(3) (at pressures and temperatures of the Earth’s lower mantle), and ceramic oxide HfO_(2).

Stratigraphy of southeastern flanks of Raichikhinsk brown coal field (Zeya-Bureya sedimentary basin)

The results of the palynologic and paleobotanic analyses have allowed determining the Paleocene (including Danian) and Eocene deposits in the series of coal-bearing sediments of southeastern flanks of the Raichikhinsk brown coal field. Their age was corroborated by the palynologic and paleobotanic data. The detailed biostartigraphic data were obtained in the area"Pioneer"for the first time. The coal-bearing strata were correlated with those from the sections of the Arkhara-Boguchan brown coal field and the stratotype of the Tsagajan Formation of the Bureya Belogor’ye.

Molybdenum-induced tuning 3d-orbital electron filling degree of CoSe_(2) for alkaline hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions

The development of high-performance non-precious metal-based robust bifunctional electrocatalyst for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reactions(OER) in alkaline media is essential for the electrochemical overall water splitting technologies. Herein, we demonstrate that the HER/OER performance of Co Se_(2)can be significantly enhanced by tuning the 3d-orbital electron filling degree through Mo doping. Both density functional theory(DFT) calculations and experimental results imply that the doping of Mo with higher proportion of the unoccupied d-orbital(P_(un)) could not only serve as the active center for water adsorption to enhance the water molecule activation, but also modulate the electronic structures of Co metal center leading to the optimized adsorption strength of*H. As expected, the obtained Mo-Co Se_(2)exhibits a remarkable bifunctional performance with overpotential of only 85 m v for HER and 245 m v for OER to achieve the current density of 10 m A/cm^(2)in alkaline *** work will provide a valuable insight to design highly efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst towards HER and OER.

Synthesis,Structure and Photochromism of a New Diarylethene and Its Ag(Ⅰ) Complex

A new symmetric diarylethene containing cyano group was synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis,IR,1 H NMR and X-ray single-crystal *** belongs to the monoclinic system,space group C2/c with a = 18.848（6）,b = 8.561（2）,c = 16.875（5）？,β = 100.398（6）o,v = 1344.6（11）？~3,Z = 4,μ = 0.262 mm^（-1）,Dc = 1.415 g/cm^3,Mr = 570.56,F（000） = 1160,the final R = 0.0808 and wR = 0.2107 with I 〉 2σ（I）.The two thienyls adopt reactive anti-parallel conformation and the carbon distance of photocyclization is 3.57 ？.The neighboring molecules are stacked closely with C-H…F hydrogen *** addition,the photochromism of the new compound was investigated in solvents with different polarity and PMMA *** alternative photo-irradiation of 254 nm light and ≥550 visible light can induce the reversible photo-cyclization and photo-reversion with the color interconversion between colorlessness and *** THF solution,the λ（max） of diarylethene in PSS in visible band is 585 *** diarylethene further reacted with AgBF4 in benzene to give rise to complex 1,which was structurally characterized by elemental analysis,IR,ESI-MS and TG.1 demonstrated reversible photochromism in both solution and PMMA *** complexation of metal ions with diarylethene leads to a minor red-shift of the λ（max） of 1 in THF in PSS to 590 nm.
