Gut microbiome and serum metabolome analyses identify Bacteroides fragilis as regulators of serotonin content and PRL secretion in broody geese

Broody behavior is regulated by hypothalamic prolactin secretion,which seriously affects egg production in poulty *** studies have provided evidence that animal behavior is governed by dynamic bidirectional communication between specific gut bacteria and their host via the brain-gut-microbiome ***,little research focused on how the gut microbiota influence broody behavior in *** this study,Zhedong white geese in laying and brooding phases were *** differentially abundant bacteria in cecum were detected between brooding and laying geese through metagenomic analyses and 16S rRNA sequencing(P<0.05),and Bacteroides fragilis was specifically identified as a key driver species in the brooding ***,the serum metabolites were quantified,and the 313 differentially abundant metabolites were found between the two groups of different physiological *** were primarily enriched in the tryptophan metabolism *** correlation analyses revealed there was a significant positive correlation between *** abundance and the context of 11 tryptophan metabolism-related metabolites(such as serotonin,etc.)in broody geese,which hinted that those tryptophan metabolites might be produced or driven by ***,the serum hormone levels were also *** found there was a positive correlation between *** abundance and content of ***,prolactin secreted by the pituitary gland was greater in brooding geese than that in laying geese,which was also highly correlated with *** *** result implied that *** could promote the secretion of prolactin by the pituitary ***,the current study findings provided the information on gut microbiota influencing broody behavior,*** produced or driven more serum serotonin,and stimulated the pituitary gland to secret more prolactin,which potentially offered a new enlightenment for the intervention of broody behavior in pou

Objective This study aimed to compare the current Essen rabies post-exposure immunization schedule(0-3-7-14-28)in China and the simple 4-dose schedule(0-3-7-14)newly recommended by the World Health Organization in terms of their safety,efficacy,and *** Mice were vaccinated according to different immunization schedules,and blood was collected for detection of rabies virus neutralizing antibodies(RVNAs)on days 14,21,28,35,and 120after the first ***,different groups of mice were injected with lethal doses of the CVS-11 virus on day 0,subjected to different rabies immunization schedules,and assessed for morbidity and death *** a clinical trial,185 rabies-exposed individuals were selected for post-exposure vaccination according to the Essen schedule,and blood was collected for RVNAs detection on days 28and 42 after the first *** A statistically significant difference in RVNAs between mice in the Essen and 0-3-7-14 schedule groups was observed on the 35th day(P0.05)in RVNAs levels at any time *** post-exposure immune protective test showed that the survival rate of mice in the control group was 20%,whereas that in the immunization groups was 40%.In the clinical trial,the RVNAs positive conversion rates on days 28(14 days after 4 doses)and 42(14 days after 5 doses)were both 100%,and no significant difference in RVNAs levels was observed(P>0.05).Conclusion The simple 4-dose schedule can produce sufficient RVNAs levels,with no significant effect of a delayed fourth vaccine dose(14–28 d)on the immunization potential.

Cancer is a leading cause of death *** therapies aimed at key oncogenic driver mutations in combination with chemotherapy and radiother-apy as well as immunotherapy have benefited cancer patients *** protein p53(TP53),a crucial tumor suppressor gene encoding p53,reg-ulates numerous downstream genes and cellular phenotypes in response to various *** affected genes are involved in diverse processes,includ-ing cell cycle arrest,DNA repair,cellular senescence,metabolic homeostasis,apoptosis,and ***,accumulating recent studies have contin-ued to reveal novel and unexpected functions of p53 in governing the fate of tumors,for example,functions in ferroptosis,immunity,the tumor microenvi-ronment and microbiome *** the possibilities,the evolutionary plasticity of p53 is the most controversial,partially due to the dizzying array of biological functions that have been attributed to different regulatory mechanisms of p53 *** 40 years after its discovery,this key tumor suppressor remains somewhat *** intricate and diverse functions of p53 in reg-ulating cell fate during cancer treatment are only the tip of the iceberg with respect to its equally complicated structural biology,which has been painstak-ingly ***,TP53 mutation is one of the most significant genetic alterations in cancer,contributing to rapid cancer cell growth and tumor ***,we summarized recent advances that implicate altered p53 in modulating the response to various cancer therapies,including chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and ***,we also discussed potential strategies for targeting p53 as a therapeutic option for cancer.

A review on covalent organic frameworks for rechargeable zinc-ion batteries

In recent years,rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are considered to be a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their high safety and theoretical capacity with low ***,the in-depth development of rechargeable zinc-ion batteries is restricted by a sequence of issues,such as the dissolution and structure collapse of cathode materials,the formation of by-products,severe anode corrosion,passivation,and the growth of zinc *** covalent organic frameworks(COFs)can solve the above problems to a certain extent owing to their ideal characteristics,such as rigid structure,insolubility,high porosity,and abundant active ***,as advanced materials for ZIBs,have attracted researchers'*** this review,we systematically summarized the synthesis methods of COFs and discussed the application of several advanced characterization technologies in COFs,which would provide a reference for the in-depth research of *** addition,we elucidated the use of COFs as cathode materials and anode protective layers in rechargeable ***,we discussed the challenges and solutions in the development of COF materials,which would provide constructive insights into the future direction of COFs.

Three-stage niobium mineralization at Bayan Obo, China

The Chinese Bayan Obo deposit is a world-class rare earth element(REE) deposit with considerable niobium(Nb) and iron(Fe) resources. A complete genetic understanding on all metals is fundamental for establishing genetic models at Bayan Obo. With extensive research being focused on REE enrichment, the timing and controls of Nb enrichment remain unresolved at Bayan Obo, which is mainly due to the challenges in dating, i.e. multistage thermal events, fine-grained minerals with complex textures and the rare occurrence of uranium-enriched minerals with mature dating methods. Based on robust geological and petrographic frameworks, here we conducted ion probe uranium-lead(U-Pb) dating of ferrocolumbite to unravel the timing, hence the genesis of Nb mineralization. Three types of hydrothermal ferrocolumbites—key Nb-bearing minerals—are identified based on their textures and mineral assemblages. They yield U-Pb ages of 1312 ± 47 Ma(n = 99), 438 ± 7 Ma(n = 93), and 268 ± 5 Ma(n = 19), respectively. In line with deposit geology, we tentatively link the first, second and third stage Nb mineralization to Mesoproterozoic carbonatite magmatism, ubiquitous early Paleozoic hydrothermal activity, and Permian granitic magmatism, respectively. While quantifying the contribution of metal endowment from each stage requires further investigation, our new dates highlight that multi-stage mineralization is critical for Nb enrichment at Bayan Obo, which may also have implications for the enrichment mechanism of Nb in REE deposits in general.

Photothermal therapy(PTT)has been widely used in the treatment of tumors,but its efficacy is greatly limited by the inability of precise drug delivery and the increase of heat shock proteins(HSPs)caused by high *** article describes a therapeutic strategy to enhance PTT with starvation therapy in conjunction with ferroptosis mechanism.A nanoparticle platform ZIF-8@GA was constructed by wrapping together glucose oxidase(GOX)and gold nanospheres(AuNPs)loaded with dihydroartemisinin(DHA)with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8).This platform can take advantage of the micro-environment of osteosarcoma(OS)cells,featuring low pH and high reactive oxygen species(ROS),for precision drug *** can effectively catalyze glucose to produce gluconic acid and H_(2)O_(2),and DHA can also induce ROS production in OS *** produced by GOX and DHA can further generate lipid peroxidation(LPO)and lead to ferroptosis of OS *** the same time,ROS and LPO produced can inhibit the expression of HSPs,thereby increasing the therapeutic effect of *** vitro experiments show that the nanoparticles are pH and ROS responsive.1μg/mL GOX combined with 0.2μg/mL DHA promotes ferroptosis of OS cells,and increases the killing effect of near-infrared(NIR)on OS *** in vivo experiments showed that the nano drug-delivery platform combined with PTT can effectively inhibit the growth of OS ***,this study provides a new idea for the treatment of OS with biomaterials combined with various treatment methods.

Hot Deformation Behavior of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb Titanium Alloy

Characterization of hot deformation behavior of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb titanium alloy was investigated through isothermal compression at various temperatures from 750 to 1050℃and strain rate from 0.01 to 10 s^(-1).The isothermal compression experiment results showed that the peak stress of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb titanium alloy decreased with the temperature increasing and the strain rate *** softening mechanism was dynamic recovery below T_(β)and changed to dynamic recrystallization above T_(β).The arrheniustype relationship was used to calculate the constitutive equation of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb alloy in two-phase *** was found that the apparent activation energies were 427.095 kJ·mol^(-1)in theα+βphase region and 205.451 kJ·mol^(-1)in theβphase region,*** the basis of dynamic materials model,the processing map is generated,which shows that the highest peak efficiency of power dissipation of 56%occurs at about 1050℃/0.01 s^(-1).It can be found in the processing maps that the strain had significant effect on the peak region of power dissipation efficiency of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb ***,optimized hot working regions were investigated and validated through microstructure *** optimum thermo mechanical process condition for hot working of Ti-6Al-4V-0.5Ni-0.5Nb titanium alloy was suggested to be in the temperature range of 950-1000℃with a strain rate of 0.01-0.1 s^(-1).

Preparation of Manganese Oxide and Its Adsorption Properties

The in-situ oxidation of manganese sulfate solution with H2O_(2),sodium hypochlorite,potassium permanganate and oxygen as oxidants was investigated by means of SEM,EDS,XRD,BET and infrared analysis,and the effects of different oxidants on the morphology,phase composition,surface properties and specific surface area of manganese oxides were *** experimental results show that the diameter of manganese oxide particles prepared with H_(2)O_(2)is the smallest,about 50 nm,and the specific surface area is the largest,63.8764 m^(2)/*** has the advantages of abundant surface hydroxyl groups,no introduction of other impurities and large adsorption *** is most suitable to be used as an oxidant for oxidizing manganese sulfate solution to prepare manganese oxide by in-situ *** manganese oxide prepard by H_(2)O_(2)in-situ oxidation method is used as adsorbent to adsorb cobalt and nickel impurities in manganese *** the reaction pH is 6,the reaction time is 30min and the amount of adsorbent is 1.0 g,the adsorption rates of cobalt and nickel impurities in 100ml manganese sulfate solution are 97.59%and 97.67%,*** residual amounts of cobalt and nickel meet the industrial process standard of first-class products(Co,Ni w/%≤0.005)of high-purity manganese sulfate(Hg/t4823-2015)for *** study plays a guiding role in the preparation and regulation of manganese oxide,and provides a new method with high efficiency,purity and adsorbent availability for the preparation of high-purity manganese sulfate solution.

Semantic-aware entity alignment for low resource language knowledge graph

Entity alignment(EA)is an important technique aiming to find the same real entity between two different source knowledge graphs(KGs).Current methods typically learn the embedding of entities for EA from the structure of KGs for *** EA models are designed for rich-resource languages,requiring sufficient resources such as a parallel corpus and pre-trained language ***,low-resource language KGs have received less attention,and current models demonstrate poor performance on those low-resource ***,researchers have fused relation information and attributes for entity representations to enhance the entity alignment performance,but the relation semantics are often *** address these issues,we propose a novel Semantic-aware Graph Neural Network(SGNN)for entity ***,we generate pseudo sentences according to the relation triples and produce representations using pre-trained ***,our approach explores semantic information from the connected relations by a graph neural *** model captures expanded feature information from *** results using three low-resource languages demonstrate that our proposed SGNN approach out performs better than state-of-the-art alignment methods on three proposed datasets and three public datasets.

Enhanced Ion-Selective Diffusion Achieved by Supramolecular Interaction for High Thermovoltage and Thermal Stability

Thermoelectric(TE)generators capable of converting thermal energy into applicable electricity have gained great popularity among emerging energy conversion ***-based ionic thermoelectric(i-TE)materials are promising candidates for energy conversion systems because of their wide sources,innocuity,and low manufacturing ***,common physically crosslinked biopolymer gels induced by single hydrogen bonding or hydrophobic interaction suffer from low differential thermal voltage and poor thermodynamic ***,we develop a novel i-TE gel with supramolecular structures through multiple noncovalent interactions between ionic liquids(ILs)and gelatin molecular *** thermopower and thermoelectric power factor of the ionic gels are as high as 2.83 mV K-1 and 18.33μW m^(-1)K^(-2),*** quasi-solid-state gelatin-[EMIM]DCA i-TE cells achieve ultrahigh 2 h output energy density(E_(2h)=9.9 mJ m^(-2))under an optimal temperature ***,the remarkable stability of the supramolecular structure provides the i-TE hydrogels with a thermal stability of up to 80℃.It breaks the limitation that biopolymer-based i-TE gels can only be applied in the low temperature range and enables biopolymer-based i-TE materials to pursue better performance in a higher temperature range.
