Compressive properties of homemade carbon fiber composite laminates with delamination defect

Large numbers of aircraft composite structures were researched,and the distribution of delamination sizes and though thickness positions in the composite laminates were investigated.An experiment was conducted to probe into the effect of delamination sizes and through thickness positions on the compressive strengths of laminates with single embedded circular delamination with the most dangerous delamination sizes and positions defined from the distribution.A shell model was established for compressive strength prediction,and the virtual crack closure technique(VCCT) was employed for the strain energy release rate calculation.The finite element(FE) prediction was in good agreement with the experimental measurements,for the predicted compressive strengths stood within 10%error of experimental results.It was observed that the compressive strength was highly effected by the delamination size,while the though thickness position of delamination did not have significant effect on the compressive strength.

A population-based case-control study was conducted to evaluate the relative fac^tors in the environments, agricultural works, outdoor activities, and the effectiveness of Lyme borreliosis （LB）- associated personal protective measure.c; in Beijing. Thirty-four cases and 272 controls were personally interviewed by well-trained interviewers. Venous blood samples were taken from eac：h subject. Sowing or harvesting in summer （OR=2.571, 95% CI： 1.109-5.962）, living in house with weeding in the yard （OR=2.247, 95% CI： 1.062-4.755）.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a prevalent and aggressive liver malignancy.The interplay between bile acids(BAs)and the gut microbiota has emerged as a critical factor in HCC development and progression.Under normal conditions,BA metabolism is tightly regulated through a bidirectional interplay between gut microorganisms and BAs.The gut microbiota plays a critical role in BA metabolism,and BAs are endogenous signaling molecules that help maintain liver and intestinal homeostasis.Of note,dysbiotic changes in the gut microbiota during pathogenesis and cancer development can disrupt BA homeostasis,thereby leading to liver inflammation and fibrosis,and ultimately contributing to HCC development.Therefore,understanding the intricate interplay between BAs and the gut microbiota is crucial for elucidating the mechanisms underlying hepatocarcinogenesis.In this review,we comprehensively explore the roles and functions of BA metabolism,with a focus on the interactions between BAs and gut microorganisms in HCC.Additionally,therapeutic strategies targeting BA metabolism and the gut microbiota are discussed,including the use of BA agonists/antagonists,probiotic/prebiotic and dietary interventions,fecal microbiota transplantation,and engineered bacteria.In summary,understanding the complex BA-microbiota crosstalk can provide valuable insights into HCC development and facilitate the development of innovative therapeutic approaches for liver malignancy.

Supported metal catalysts are widely used in the modern chemical industry.The electronic interaction between supports and active components is of great significance for heterogeneous catalysis.Graphdiyne(GDY),a new type of carbon allotrope with sp-hybridized carbon atoms,πconjugate structure,and electron transmission capability,is a promising candidate as catalyst support.Recent years have witnessed the rapid progress of GDY-supported metal catalysts for different catalysis reactions.Considering that most processes in the current chemical industry are thermocatalytic reactions,we herein give an overview about the advances and particular characteristics of GDY-supported catalysts in these reactions.The geometric structure and electronic properties of GDY are first introduced.Then,the synthesis methods for GDY-supported metal catalysts and their applications in thermocatalytic reactions are discussed,in which the effect of electronic interaction on catalytic performance is highlighted.Finally,the current challenges and future directions of GDY-supported metal catalysts for thermocatalysis are proposed.It is expected that this review will enrich our understanding of the advances of GDY as a superior support for metal catalysts in thermocatalytic reactions.

Magnesium-ion batteries(MIBs)have attracted extensive attention due to their high theoretical capacity,superior safety,and low cost.Nonetheless,the development of MIBs is hindered by the lack of cathode materials with long cycle life and rate capability.MXene stands out as a prime choice for MIB cathode or collector for anode-free magnesium batteries(AFMBs)because of its larger surface area,adjustable surface properties,and good electrical conductivity.In this paper,we summarized the preparation and layering methods of MXene and discussed the prospects of MXene as a cathode or collector for MIBs.This review will be immensely beneficial in critically analyzing the synthesis techniques and the applications of MXene material as MIB cathode or AFMB collector.In addition,the challenges of the preparation and layering were concluded,along with raising the research strategies of MXene for storing Mg ions.

Objective This study aimed to explore the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)in the matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)signaling pathway and the risk of vascular senescence(VS).Methods In this cross-sectional study,between May and November 2022,peripheral venous blood of151 VS patients(case group)and 233 volunteers(control group)were collected.Fourteen SNPs were identified in five genes encoding the components of the MMP-2 signaling pathway,assessed through carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity(cf PWV),and analyzed using multivariate logistic regression.The multigene influence on the risk of VS was assessed using multifactor dimensionality reduction(MDR)and generalized multifactor dimensionality regression(GMDR)modeling.Results Within the multivariate logistic regression models,four SNPs were screened to have significant associations with VS:chemokine(C-C motif)ligand 2(CCL2)rs4586,MMP2 rs14070,MMP2rs7201,and MMP2 rs1053605.Carriers of the T/C genotype of MMP2 rs14070 had a 2.17-fold increased risk of developing VS compared with those of the C/C genotype,and those of the T/T genotype had a19.375-fold increased risk.CCL2 rs4586 and MMP-2 rs14070 exhibited the most significant interactions.Conclusion CCL2 rs4586,MMP-2 rs14070,MMP-2 rs7201,and MMP-2 rs1053605 polymorphisms were significantly associated with the risk of VS.

Thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)polymeric materials based on through-space charge transfer(TSCT)have emerged as a highly studied topic in recent years.However,the construction of TSCT TADF materials via a supramolecular approach is still a big challenge.In this work,we report the noncovalent synthesis of TSCT TADF materials using a cyclic peptide-based bottle-brushed supramolecular polymer as a scaffold.By bringing the TSCT donor and acceptor in close proximity in space using the supramolecular scaffold,distinctive TADF emission in both solution and solid states could be achieved.Furthermore,the TADF system could be utilized as a sensitizer to coassemble with fluorescence acceptors to build thermally assisted fluorescence systems,resulting in color-tunable delayed fluorescence with high efficiency and color purity.Our findings provide a facile yet effective approach to designing and fabricating TSCT TADF materials,which might hold great potential for applications in the fields of organic light-emitting diode,bioimaging,and sensing.

Cavity-enhanced single quantum dots(QDs)are the main approach towards ultra-high-performance solid-state quantum light sources for scalable photonic quantum technologies.Nevertheless,harnessing the Purcell effect requires precise spectral and spatial alignment of the QDs’emission with the cavity mode,which is challenging for most cavities.Here we have successfully integrated miniaturized Fabry-Perot microcavities with a piezoelectric actuator,and demonstrated a bright single-photon source derived from a deterministically coupled QD within this microcavity.Leveraging the cavity-membrane structures,we have achieved large spectral tunability via strain tuning.On resonance,a high Purcell factor of~9 is attained.The source delivers single photons with simultaneous high extraction efficiency of 0.58,high purity of 0.956(2)and high indistinguishability of 0.922(4).Together with its compact footprint,our scheme facilitates the scalable integration of indistinguishable quantum light sources on-chip,therefore removing a major barrier to the development of solid-state quantum information platforms based on QDs.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma(PMEC)is a rare malignancy that arises from minor salivary glands within the tracheobronchial tree.The clear cell variant of PMEC is exceptionally uncommon and presents notable diagnostic challenges,primarily attributable to its morphological similarity to other tumors containing clear cells.CASE SUMMARY A 22-year-old male,formerly in good health,came in with a two-month duration of persistent cough and production of sputum.Subsequent imaging and bronchoscopy examinations revealed a 2 cm tumor in the distal left main bronchus,which resulted in complete atelectasis of the left lung.Further assessment via positron emission tomography/computed tomography scans and endoscopic biopsy confirmed the primary malignant nature of the tumor,charac-terized by clear cell morphology in most of the tumor cells.The patient underwent a left lower lobe sleeve resection accompanied by systematic mediastinal lymph node dissection.Molecular pathology analysis subsequently revealed a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion,leading to a definitive pathological diagnosis of the clear cell variant of PMEC,staged as T2N0M0.After surgery,the patient experienced a smooth recovery and exhibited no signs of recurrence during the one-and-a-half-year follow-up period.CONCLUSION This article describes an unusual case of a clear cell variant of PMEC characterized by the presence of a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion in a 22-year-old male.The patient underwent successful left lower lobe sleeve resection.This case underscores the distinctive challenges associated with diagnosing and treating this uncommon malignancy,underscoring the importance of precise diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies.
