Micro-flow structure at regime transition from bubbling to turbulent fluidization in a fluidized bed

Gas-solid fluidized beds have found extensive utilization in frontline manufacturing,in particular as low-velocity *** fluidization status,the bubbling or turbulent flow regime and the transition in between,determine the system performance in practical *** the convoluted hydrodynamics are quantitively evaluated through numerous data-processing methodologies,none of them alone can reflect all the critical information to identify the transition from the bubbling to the turbulent ***,this study was to exploit a coupling data processing methodology,in the combination of standard deviation,power spectrum density,probability density function,wavelet transform,and wavelet multiresolution method,to jointly explain the micro-flow structure at the regime transition from bubbling to turbulent *** transient differential pressure fluctuation was measured for the evaluation in a fluidized bed(0.267 m i.d.×2.5 m height)with fCC catalysts(d_(p)=65μm,ρ_(p)=1780kg/m^(3))at different superficial gas velocities(0.02–1.4 m/s).The results show that the onset of turbulent fluidization starts earlier in the top section of the bed than in the bottom *** wavelet decomposition displays that the fluctuation of differential pressure mainly concentrates on the sub-signals with an intermediate frequency *** sub-signals could be synthesized into three types of scales(micro-scale,meso-scale,and macro-scale),representing the multi-scale hydrodynamics in the fluidized *** micro-scale signal has the characteristic information of bubbling fluidization,and the characteristic information of turbulent fluidization is mainly represented by the meso-scale *** work provides a systematic comprehension of fluidization status assessment and serves as an impetus for more coupling analysis in this sector.

Immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic modality against cancer in the ***,only 10-30%of patients respond to ICB,primarily due to poor immunogenicity and insufficient T cell infiltration in solid ***,we presented an approach for high-performance cancer treatment using the programmed cell death protein-1 and programmed cell death ligand-1(PD-1/PD-L1)inhibitor(BMS-202)-loaded PEGylated graphene oxide(GPi).On the one hand,GPi dissociated tight junctions of vascular endothelial cells(VECs)in tumor,thus promoting the extravasation and intratumoral accumulation of liposomal doxorubicin(LipDox),which then effectively induced immunogenic cell death of tumor *** the other hand,GPi also stimulated VECs to upregulate the expression of cell-cell interaction molecules,such as intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1 and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1,which facilitated the infiltration of T cells in *** acting as a stimulator of VECs,GPi could exert responsive release of BMS-202 under the acidic tumor microenvironment and blockade PD-1/PD-L1 axis in ***,the alternating administration of GPi and LipDox effectively inhibited tumor growth in a 4T1 tumor model,providing a novel treatment mode for chemo-immunotherapy.

Dynamic Response Impact of Vehicle Braking on Simply Supported Beam Bridges with Corrugated Steel Webs Based on Vehicle-Bridge Coupled Vibration Analysis

A novel approach for analyzing coupled vibrations between vehicles and bridges is presented,taking into account spatiotemporal effects and mechanical phenomena resulting fromvehicle *** modeling and solution of bridge vibrations induced by vehicle deceleration are realized using this *** method’s validity and reliability are substantiated through numerical examples.A simply supported beam bridge with a corrugated steel web is taken as an example and the effects of parameters such as the initial vehicle speed,braking acceleration,braking location,and road surface roughness on the mid-span displacement and impact factor of the bridge are *** results show that vehicle braking significantly amplifies mid-span displacement and impact factor responses in comparison to uniform vehicular motion across the ***,the influence of wheelto-bridge friction forces is of particular significance and cannot be *** the vehicle initiates braking near the middle of the span,both the mid-span displacement and impact factor of the bridge exhibit substantial increases,further escalating with higher braking *** favorable road surface conditions,the midspan displacement and the impact factor during vehicle braking may exceed the design values stipulated by *** is important to note that road surface roughness exerts a more pronounced effect on the impact factor of the bridge in comparison to the effects of vehicle braking.

Geochronological and geochemical constraints on the petrogenesis and geodynamic process of Hemler,Vlinder,and Il'ichev seamount lavas in NW Pacific

Oceanic intraplate volcanoes with linear age progressions are usually accepted to be derived from melting of an upwelling mantle *** seamount groups in NW Pacific,however,show complex age-distance relationships that are difficult to explain using the classic“mantle plume hypothesis”,and thus their origins are *** this study,we present ^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar age,geochemical,and Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic data of lavas from Hemler,Vlinder,and Il’ichev seamounts in NW Pacific,to elucidate their petrogenesis and geodynamic *** lavas from Hemler,Vlinder,and Il’ichev seamounts are classified as alkali basalt,basanite/nephelinite,and *** with Mg O>8 wt.%exhibit high contents of CaO,feO^(T),and TiO_(2),similar to the composition of melts formed from reaction between carbonated eclogite-derived melts and fertile *** lavas have elevated Zr/Hf ratios(40.6-45.2)and negative Zr and Hf anomalies,indicating the presence of a carbonate component in the mantle *** are enriched in incompatible trace elements and have enriched mantle 1(EM1)-like SrNd-Pb-Hf isotopic *** isotopic compositions of Vlinder,Il’ichev basanite,and Hemler lavas in this study are similar to the Rarotonga *** occurring at the same seamount,the Il’ichev alkali basalts display more depleted SrNd-Hf isotopic compositions compared to Il’ichev *** to plate tectonic reconstruction results,the ages of Hemler(100.1 Ma),Vlinder pre-(100.2 Ma)and post-shield(87.5 Ma),and Il’ichev(56.4 Ma)lavas clearly deviate from the Macdonald,Arago,Rarotonga,and Samoa hotspot tracks,indicating that they cannot directly originate from mantle *** propose that in the mid-Cretaceous,when the Pacific plate passed over Rarotonga hotspot,melting of Rarotonga plume formed the Vlinder(main-shield stage),Pako,and Ioah *** Rarotonga(and possibly Samoa)plume materials would have been dispersed into the surrounding asthenosphere by mantle conve

Enhancement of comprehensive properties of Nb–Si based in-situ composites by Ho rare earth doping

This study examines the microstructure,mechanical properties （with a focus on room-temperature toughness）, and oxidation resistance of Ho-doped NbDSi based in-situ composites. The base alloy consists of the coarse primary Nb5Si3phase and the Nb5Si3+Nbss （Nb solid solution） eutectic cells. Ho doping influences the solidification path. When the Ho doping is higher than0.2 at%, the alloys transform into eutectic alloys. Ho can be solid-solved in trace amounts in the Nbss phase. However, most of Ho forms a stable Ho oxide phase, which alleviates oxygen contamination problem to some ***, the interface separation between Ho oxide and other phases reduces the plastic deformation ***, with 0.4 at%Ho doping, the KQvalue is18.03 MPa·m1/2, which is 31.1%higher than that of the base alloy. The strength of the Ho-doped alloys does not deteriorate with an increase in toughness. However, the large network-like Ho2O3in the 0.8Ho alloy causes a decrease in toughness and strength. In addition, the Ho oxide phase effectively blocks the inward oxygen *** 0.8 at%Ho doping, the oxidation mass gain per unit area is 10.16 mg·cm2, which is 39.7%lower than that of the base alloy.

A reweighted damped singular spectrum analysis method for robust seismic noise suppression

(Multichannel)Singular spectrum analysis is considered as one of the most effective methods for seismic incoherent noise *** utilizes the low-rank feature of seismic signal and regards the noise suppression as a low-rank reconstruction ***,in some cases the seismic geophones receive some erratic disturbances and the amplitudes are dramatically larger than other *** presence of this kind of noise,called erratic noise,makes singular spectrum analysis(SSA)reconstruction unstable and has undesirable effects on the final *** robustify the low-rank reconstruction of seismic data by a reweighted damped SSA(RD-SSA)*** incorporates the damped SSA,an improved version of SSA,into a reweighted *** damping operator is used to weaken the artificial disturbance introduced by the low-rank projection of both erratic and random *** central idea of the RD-SSA method is to iteratively approximate the observed data with the quadratic norm for the first iteration and the Tukeys bisquare norm for the rest *** RD-SSA method can suppress seismic incoherent noise and keep the reconstruction process robust to the erratic *** feasibility of RD-SSA is validated via both synthetic and field data examples.

Superatom-assembled boranes,carboranes,and low-dimensional boron nanomaterials based on aromatic icosahedral B_(12)and C_(2)B_(10)

Using the experimentally known aromatic icosahedral superatoms I_(h)B_(12)H_(12)2−and D_(5d)1,12-C_(2)B_(10)H_(12)as building blocks and based on extensive density functional theory calculations,we predict herein a series of core–shell superpolyhedral boranes and carboranes in a bottom-up approach,including the high-symmetry Th B_(12)@B_(152)H_(72)2−(2),C2h C_(2)B_(10)@B_(152)H_(72)(3),D_(3d)B_(12)@B_(144)H_(66)(4),I_(h)B_(12)@C_(24)B_(12)0H_(72)2−(6),and D_(5d)C_(2)B_(10)@C_(24)B_(12)0H_(72)(7).More interestingly,the superatom-assembled linear D2h B_(36)H_(32)^(2−)(8),close-packed planar D_(3d)B_(84)H_(60)^(2−)(10),and nearly close-packed core−shell D_(3d)B_(12)@B144H_(6)6(4)can be extended periodically to form the one-dimensional(1D)α-rhombohedral borane nanowire B_(12)H_(10)(Pmmm)(9),two-dimensional(2D)α-rhombohedral monolayer borophane B_(12)H_(6)(P m1)(11),and the experimentally known three-dimensional(3D)α-rhombohedral boron(R m)(12)which can be viewed as an assembly of the monolayer B_(12)H_(6)(11)staggered in vertical direction,setting up a bottom-up strategy to form low-dimensional boron-based nanomaterials from their borane“seeds”via partial or complete *** bonding analyses indicate that the high stability of these nanostructures originates from the spherical aromaticity of their icosahedral B_(12)or C_(2)B_(10)structural units which possess the universal skeleton electronic configuration of 1S21P61D101f8 following the Wade’s n+1 *** infrared(IR)and Raman spectra of the most-concerned neutral B_(12)@B144H_(6)6(4)and C_(2)B_(10)@C_(24)B_(12)0H_(72)(7)are computationally simulated to facilitate their experimental characterizations.

UiO-66-NH_(2)nanoparticles supported on layered double hydroxides as an excellent adsorbent for levofloxacin capture

The adsorption performances of individual adsorbent such as UiO-66-NH_(2)and MgAl-layered double hydroxides(MgAl-LDH)toward levofloxacin(LVX)is less satisfactory due to the disappointing uptake capacity and adsorption ***,a 3D flower-like composite adsorbent prepared via iterative hydrothermal synthesis method anchoring UiO-66-NH_(2)nanoparticles onto the MgAl-LDH *** to the synergistic effects of UiO-66-NH_(2),and MgAl-LDH,the MgAl-LDH@UiO-66-NH_(2)exhibits an outstanding adsorption performance toward ***,the maximum LVX uptake capacity over MgAl-LDH@UiO-66-NH_(2)reached 268 mg/g,which was higher than that of the individual adsorption materials UiO-66-NH_(2)(41 mg/g),MgAl-LDH(140 mg/g),and some adsorbents reported in previous *** rapid adsorption process can reach equilibrium within 20 min,which conformed well to the pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm *** thermodynamic result also indicated that the adsorption was spontaneous and exothermic,simultaneous coexisting physical and chemical adsorption ***,the MgAl-LDH@UiO-66-NH_(2)still maintained excellent adsorption capacity with a slightly decrease after fifth cycle,exhibiting a remarkable reuse and stable *** work provides a highly novel strategy to prepare recyclable composite adsorbent for the LVX capture from aqueous solution.
