Strong Antiferromagnetic Exchange-Coupling Observed in Hydride-Bridged Dimeric Dysprosium(Ⅲ)Single-Molecule Magnet

One dihydride-bridged dimeric Dy(Ⅲ)guanidinate complex,formulated as[{(Me_(3)Si)_(2)NC(NiPr)_(2)}_(2)Dy(μ-H)]_(2)(1Dy),was successfully isolated and the introduction of hydride bridges significantly reduces the intramolecular Dy(Ⅲ)…Dy(Ⅲ)distance to only 3.688(1)Å.To investigate the effect of such a short Dy(Ⅲ)…Dy(Ⅲ)distance on magnetism,we also prepared its dibromide-bridged analogue[{(Me_(3)Si)_(2)NC(NiPr)_(2)}_(2)Dy(μ-Br)]_(2)(2Dy),which has a much longer Dy(Ⅲ)…Dy(Ⅲ)distance of 4.605(4)Å.Surprisingly,2Dy demonstrates much larger effective energy barrier for magnetization reversal(U_(eff))and higher blocking temperature(T_(B)).The worse performance of 1Dy is attributed to the concerted effect of strong antiferromagnetic interactions between Dy(Ⅲ)ions(J_(total)=–2.683 cm^(–1))and the unparallel arrangement of magnetic principle axes of the Dy(Ⅲ)ions for 1Dy.

Tourmaline guiding the electric field and dechlorination pathway of 2,3-dichlorophenol by Desulfitobacterium hafniense

The dehalogenation of organohalides has been a research hotspot in bioremediation field;however,the influence of tourmaline,a natural ore that can generate spontaneous electric field,on organohalide-respiring bacteria(OHRB)and their dechlorination process is not well *** this study,the effect and mechanism of tourmaline on the reductive dechlorination of 2,3-dichlorophenol(2,3-DCP)by Desulfitobacterium hafniense DCB-2Twere *** characterization results confirmed that tourmaline had good stability and the optimal dosage of tourmaline was 2.5 g/L,which shortened the total time required for dechlorination reaction to 72 ***,tourmaline amendment also increased the proportion of 2-chlorophenol(2-CP)from 18%to 30%of end products,while that of 3-CP decreased *** theoretical calculations showed that the bond charge of the orthosubstituted chlorine declined from-0.179 to-0.067,and that of meta-substituted chlorine increased from-0.111 to-0.129,which indicated that the spontaneous electric field of tourmaline affected the charge distribution of 2,3-DCP and was more conducive to the generation of ***,tourmaline with the spontaneous electric field affected the reductive dechlorination pathway of Desulfitobacterium,and the tourmaline-OHRB combining system might serve as a novel strategy for the bioremediation of environments polluted with chlorinated phenols.

Monotropein Induced Apoptosis and Suppressed Cell Cycle Progression in Colorectal Cancer Cells

Objective: To determine whether monotropein has an anticancer effect and explore its potential mechanisms against colorectal cancer(CRC) through network pharmacology and molecular docking combined with experimental verification. Methods: Network pharmacology and molecular docking were used to predict potential targets of monotropein against CRC. Cell counting kit assay, plate monoclonal assay and microscopic observation were used to investigate the antiproliferative effects of monotropein on CRC cells HCT116, HT29 and LoVo. Flow cytometry and scratch assay were used to analyze apoptosis and cell cycle, as well as cell migration, respectively in HCT116, HT29, and LoVo cells. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of proteins related to apoptosis, cell cycle, and cell migration, and the expression of proteins key to the Akt pathway. Results: The Gene Ontology and Reactome enrichment analyses indicated that the anticancer potential of monotropein against CRC might be involved in multiple cancer-related signaling pathways. Among these pathways, RAC-beta serine/threonine-protein kinase(Akt1, Akt2), cyclin-dependent kinase 6(CDK6), matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP9), epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR), cell division control protein 42 homolog(CDC42) were shown as the potential anticancer targets of monotropein against CRC. Molecular docking suggested that monotropein may interact with the 6 targets(Akt1, Akt2, CDK6, MMP9, EGFR, CDC42). Subsequently, cell activity of HCT116, HT29 and LoVo cell lines were significantly suppressed by monotropein(Pduced cell apoptosis by inhibiting Bcl-2 and increasing Bax, induced G_1–S cycle arrest in colorectal cancer by decreasing the expressions of CyclinD1, CDK4 and CDK6, inhibited cell migration by suppressing the expressions of CDC42 and MMP9(P<0.05), and might play an anticancer role through Akt signaling pathway. Discovering more and new geometrically frustrated systems remains an active point of inquiry in fundamental physics for the existence of unusual states of ***,we report spin-liquid-like behavior in a two-dimensional(2D)rhombic lattice Fe-metal-organic framework(Fe-MOF)with frustrated *** Fe-MOF exhibits a high frustration factor f=|θCW|/TN≥315,and its long-range magnetic order is suppressed down to 180 *** theoretical calculations demonstrate strong antiferromagnetic coupling between adjacent Fe3+ions,indicating the potential of a classical spin-liquid-like ***,a T-linear heat capacity parameter,γ,originating from electronic contributions and with magnetic field independence up to 8 T,can be observed in the specific heat capacity measurements at low-temperature,providing further proof for the spin-liquid-like *** work highlights the potential of MOF materials in geometrically frustrated systems,and will promote the research of exotic quantum physics phenomena.

Revealing the role of honokiol in human glioma cells by RNA-seq analysis

Background:Glioma is a kind of tumor that easily deteriorates and originates from glial cells in nerve *** is a bisphenol compound that is an essential monomeric compound extracted from the roots and bark of Magnoliaceae *** also has anti-infection,antitumor,and immunomodulatory *** this study,we found that honokiol induces cell apoptosis in the human glioma cell lines U87-MG and ***,the mechanism through which honokiol regulates glioma cell apoptosis is still ***:We performed RNA-seq analysis of U251-MG cells treated with honokiol and control ***-protein interaction(PPI)network analysis was performed,and the 10 top hub unigenes were examined via real-time quantitative ***,MAPK signaling and ferroptosis were detected via western ***:332 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were found,comprising 163 increased and 169 decreased *** of the DEGs revealed that various biological processes were enriched,including‘response to hypoxia’,‘cerebellum development cellular response to hypoxia,’‘iron ion binding,’‘oxygen transporter activity,’‘oxygen binding,’‘ferric iron binding,’and‘structural constituent of cytoskeleton.’Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis revealed that the DEGs were enriched in the following pathways:‘mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK)’,‘Hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1)’,‘ferroptosis,’‘Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR),’‘Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase(PI3K)-protein kinase B(Akt),’and‘phagosome.’Among these pathways,the MAPK signaling pathway and ferroptosis were veriﬁ***:This study revealed the potential mechanism by which honokiol induces apoptosis and provided a comprehensive analysis of DEGs in honokiol-treated U251-MG cells and the associated signaling *** data could lead to new ideas for future research and therapy for patients with glioma.

Benchmark experiment on slab^(238)U with D-T neutrons for validation of evaluated nuclear data

A benchmark experiment on^(238)U slab samples was conducted using a deuterium-tritium neutron source at the China Institute of Atomic *** leakage neutron spectra within energy levels of 0.8-16 MeV at 60°and 120°were measured using the time-of-flight *** samples were prepared as rectangular slabs with a 30 cm square base and thicknesses of 3,6,and 9 *** leakage neutron spectra were also calculated using the MCNP-4C program based on the latest evaluated files of^(238)U evaluated neutron data from CENDL-3.2,ENDF/B-Ⅷ.0,JENDL-5.0,and *** on the comparison,the deficiencies and improvements in^(238)U evaluated nuclear data were *** results showed the following.(1)The calculated results for CENDL-3.2 significantly overestimated the measurements in the energy interval of elastic scattering at 60°and 120°.(2)The calculated results of CENDL-3.2 overestimated the measurements in the energy interval of inelastic scattering at 120°.(3)The calculated results for CENDL-3.2 significantly overestimated the measurements in the 3-8.5 MeV energy interval at 60°and 120°.(4)The calculated results with JENDL-5.0 were generally consistent with the measurement results.
