Over the years,the high magnetic induction of industrial Mn-added electrical steel is assumed to be the enhancement of{100}texture derived from its austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot rolling(phase transformation(PT)method).However,it is still undetermined without straightforward experimental *** reason for{100}texture improvement of Mn-added electrical steel is experimentally confirmed due to the recrystallization induced by the austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot ***,a more promising methodology to further improve{100}texture and formability of hot-rolled electrical steel is promoted by the control of hot rolling deformation condition(shear deformation(SD)method).The results show that the nucleation mechanisms of{100}oriented recrystallized grains are different in the samples by SD and PT methods,which are in-depth shear deformation and austenite-ferrite phase transformation,*** this case,coarse{100}oriented recrystallized grains and low residual stress are obtained in the sample by SD method,which is responsible for its superior{100}texture and *** contrast,the sample by PT method forms fine recrystallized grains with random orientations and accumulates severe residual stress.

Objective To investigate the effect and possible mechanism of flavonoids extracted from Morus indica(FMI) on blood lipids and *** The experimental hyperlipidemia-diabetic rats were induced by high-fat diet(HFD) and low dose of Streptozotocin(STZ).Flavonoids-treated rats were pretreated with FMI(50,100,and 200 mg/kg).The plasma,skeletal muscle,and livers were isolated for biochemical assays,HE staining,immunohistochemistry,and Western blotting *** The results showed that the body weight in flavonoidstreated(100 and 200 mg/kg) rats was reduced(P < 0.05,0.01) compared to HFD-fed *** obviously reduced total cholesterol(P < 0.01),triglycerides(P < 0.05),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(P < 0.05),increased high-density lipoprotein(P < 0.05),and significantly decreased the atherosclerosis index(P < 0.01);FMI(100 and 200 mg/kg) also down-regulated the elevation of blood glucose induced by STZ(P < 0.05,0.01);At the meantime,FMI increased hepatic superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and reduced hepatic malondialdehyde(MDA) content *** addition,the results showed that the expression of hepatic CYP2E1 was markedly decreased while the expression of GLUT-4 in skeletal muscles was increased by *** The above results demonstrate that the effect of FMI is related to its up-regulation of hepatic SOD activity,reduction of hepatic MDA content,down-regulation of hepatic CYP2E1 expression,and increase of GLUT-4 expression in skeletal muscle,which suggests that FMI may prevent or improve hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia caused by an excessive HFD.

The neuroendocrine hormone amylin, also known as islet amyloid polypeptide, is co-localized, co-packaged and cosecreted with insulin from adult pancreatic islet β cells to maintain glucose homeostasis. Specifically, amylin reduces secretion of nutrient-stimulated glucagon, regulates blood pressure with an effect on renin-angiotensin system, and delays gastric emptying. The physiological actions of human amylin attribute to the conformational α-helix monomers whereas the misfolding instable oligomers may be detrimental to the islet β cells and further transform to β-sheet fibrils as amyloid deposits. No direct evidence proves that the amylin fibrils in amyloid deposits cause diabetes. Here we also have performed a systematic review of human amylin gene changes and reported the S20 G mutation is minor in the development of diabetes. In addition to the metabolic effects, human amylin may modulate autoimmunity and innate inflammation through regulatory T cells to impact on both human type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Birefringence is crucial for birefringent crystals to modulate polarized light and nonlinear optical crystals to enable phase-matching. It is closely related to the arrangement of advantageous functional groups with large microcosmic polarizability anisotropy in the structure. Currently, designing crystals with large birefringence by modulating the arrangement of advantageous functional groups is still a challenge. In this work, the arrangement of the advantageous [B3O7] groups is optimized by introducing rigid tetrahedral [SO4] groups, resulting in a novel boron-rich borosulfate, Na2B6SO13, which exhibits unprecedented [B6SO13](infinity) double chain and an enhanced birefringence (Delta n = 0.07 at 589.3 nm) against the borate parent LiB3O5. Theoretical calculations confirm that the birefringence is mainly attributable to the uniform alignment of [B3O7] groups. Na2B6SO13 also possesses a deep ultraviolet (DUV) cutoff edge (lambda < 185 nm). This work provides a feasible method to design DUV birefringent crystals with large birefringence by inducing the arrangement of advantageous functional groups.

The stability of matrix graphite under neutron irradiation and in corrosive environments is crucial for the safe operation of molten salt reactors(MSRs).Raman spectroscopy and a slow positron beam were employed to investigate the effects of He ion irradiation fluences and subsequent annealing on the microstructure and defects of the matrix *** ions with 500 keV energy and fluences ranging from 1.1×10^(15)ions∕cm^(2)to 3.5×10^(17)ions∕cm^(2)were used to simulate neutron irradiation at 300 *** samples with an irradiation fluence of 3.5×10^(16)ions∕cm^(2)were subjected to isochronal annealing at different temperatures(573 K,873 K and 1173 K)for 3 *** Raman results revealed that the D peak gradually increased,whereas the intrinsic G peak decreased with increasing irradiation *** the same irradiation fluence,the D peak gradually decreased,whereas the intrinsic G peak increased with increasing annealing *** positron beam analysis demonstrated that the density or size of irradiation defects(vacancy type)increased with higher irradiation fluence,but decreased rapidly with increasing annealing *** Raman spectral analysis of sample cross sections subjected to high irradiation fluences revealed the emergence of amorphization precisely at the depth where ion damage was most pronounced,whereas the surface retained its crystalline *** and positron annihilation analyses indicated that the matrix graphite exhibited good irradiation resistance to He ions at 300 ***,vacancy-type defects induced by He ion irradiation exhibit poor thermal stability and can be easily removed during annealing.

Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a biodegradable and eco-friendly polymer that is increasingly being incorporated into various applications in contemporary society. However, the limited stability of PLA-based products remains a significant challenge for their broader use in various applications. In this study, poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)/poly(D-lactic acid) (PDLA) melt-blown nonwovens were prepared by melt spinning. The structure, thermal properties, thermal stability, biodegradability and crystalline morphology of the melt-blown nonwovens were investigated. DSC and WAXD confirmed the formation of stereocomplex (SC) crystallites in the PLLA matrix. The storage modulus (G '), loss modulus (G ''), and complex viscosity (divided by eta*divided by) of the PLLA/PDLA blend increased with an increase in SC crystallite content. The thermal degradation temperatures of PLLA/PDLA melt-blown nonwovens increased with the incorporation of SC crystallites, and the maximum rate of decomposition increased to 385.5 degrees C, thus enhancing the thermal stability. Compared with neat PLLA melt-blown nonwovens, the hydrophobicity of PLLA/PDLA melt-blown nonwovens was improved, and WCA increased to 139.7 degrees. The SC crystallites were more resistant to degradation by proteinase K compared to neat PLLA. However, the degradation rate of PLLA/PDLA melt-blown nonwovens remained at a high level. This work provides an effective strategy to obtain high-performance PLLA melt-blown nonwovens.

Heavy metal(loid)(HM)pollution in agricultural soils has become an environmental concern in antimony(Sb)mining ***,priority pollution sources identification and deep understanding of environmental risks of HMs face great challenges due to multiple and complex pollution sources ***,an integrated approach was conducted to distinguish pollution sources and assess human health risk(HHR)and ecological risk(ER)in a typical Sb mining watershed in Southern *** approach combines absolute principal component score-multiple linear regression(APCS-MLR)and positivematrix factorization(PMF)models with ER and HHR *** pollution sources were distinguished for both models,and APCS-MLR model was more accurate and *** HM concentration source was natural source(39.1%),followed by industrial and agricultural activities(23.0%),unknown sources(21.5%)and Sb mining and smelting activities(16.4%).Although natural source contributed the most to HM concentrations,it did not pose a significant *** and agricultural activities predominantly contributed to ER,and attention should be paid to Cd and *** mining and smelting activities were primary anthropogenic sources of HHR,particularly Sb and As *** ER and HHR assessments,Sb mining and smelting,and industrial and agricultural activities are critical sources,causing serious ecological and health *** study showed the advantages of multiple receptor model application in obtaining reliable source identification and providing better source-oriented risk *** pollution management,such as regulating mining and smelting and implementing soil remediation in polluted agricultural soils,is strongly recommended for protecting ecosystems and humans.
