Effect of Shading During Grain Filling on the Physicochemical Properties of Fresh Waxy Maize

Grain physicochemical properties determine the table quality of fresh waxy maize. Two waxy maize varieties, Suyunuo 5 （shading tolerant） and FHN003 （shading sensitive）, were used to estimate the effect of shading （plants received 30% less radiation than control） during grain filling （from 0 d to 23 d after pollination） on physicochemical properties of fresh waxy maize grain. Shading decreased the grain fresh weight of Suyunuo 5 and FHN003 by 8.4 and 19.1%, respectively. Shading increased the grain water content of FHN003, whereas that of Suyunuo 5 was not affected. In both varieties for shading treatment, soluble sugar, starch and protein contents were decreased, whereas zein content was increased. The changes in globulin, albumin and glutenin contents under shading were variety dependent. In both varieties, shading decreased λmax, iodine binding capacity and the percentage of large starch granules （diameter 〉17 μm） but increased crystallinity. The results of rapid visco analysis showed that the viscosity characteristics （except for pasting temperature） of both varieties were decreased by shading; however, FHN003 was more severely affected than Suyunuo 5. Under shading, Antet and %R were decreased in both varieties, whereas the changes in △Hgol and transition temperatures were variety dependent. Hardness, cohesiveness and chewiness were decreased in both varieties. Significant differences in physicochemical characteristics were observed between the two varieties.

Recently,an environmentally friendly electrolysis process of soluble vanadates is proposed and successfully confirmed for V_(2)O_(3) *** this paper,the solubilities of various vanadates(***_(3),Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4))in NaCl molten salt are *** dependences of V_(2)O_(3) extraction on vanadate form,anode material and molten salt system are studied.A long-term electrolysis is carried *** result indicates that the solubilities of all vanadates are high and meet electrolytic *** to Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4),NaVO_(3) exhibits larger current efficiency and lower electricity *** using SnO_(2) anode instead of graphite anode,the current efficiency of NaVO_(3) electrolysis can be increased to 58.1%and carbon pollution is avoided at 700℃.The extraction rate of V_(2)O_(3) reaches 81.3%after long-term electrolysis of 51 *** work optimizes the electrochemical preparation process of V_(2)O_(3) from various vanadates and contributes to the improvement of current efficiency and extraction rate.

Objective:To assess efficacy of Chinese medicine(CM)on insomnia considering characteristics of treatment based on syndrome ***:A total of 116 participants aged 18 to 65 years with moderate and severe primary insomnia were randomized to the placebo(n=20)or the CM group(n=96)for a 4-week treatment and a 4-week *** CM clinicians independently prescribed treatments for each patient based on syndromes *** primary outcome was change in total sleep time(TST)from *** endpoints included sleep onset latency(SOL),wake time after sleep onset(WASO),sleep efficiency,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and CM ***:The CM group had an average 0.6 h more(95%confidence interval(CI):0.3–0.9,P<0.001)TST and 34.1%(10.3%–58.0%,P=0.005)more patients beyond 0.5 h TST increment than that of the placebo *** was changed–3.3(–3.8 to–2.7)in the CM group,a–2.0(–3.2 to–0.8,P<0.001)difference from the placebo *** CM symptom score in the CM group decreased–2.0(–3.3 to–0.7,P=0.003)more than the placebo *** and WASO changes were not significantly different between *** analysis of prescriptions by these clinicians revealed blood deficiency and Liver stagnation as the most common *** for these clinicians displayed relative stability,while the herbs *** adverse events were mild and were not related to study ***:CM treatment based on syndrome differentiation can increase TST and improve sleep quality of primary *** is effective and safe for primary *** future studies,the long-term efficacy validation and the exploratory of eutherapeutic clinicians'fixed herb formulas should be addressed.(Registration ***01613183).

High fidelity numerical simulations on the unsteady flow field of low-pressure turbine cascades with and without upstream disturbance at moderate Reynolds number

This paper numerically investigates the aerodynamic performance of the T106A low-pressure turbine based with different inflow conditions at moderate Reynolds number by using high performance computing based on high order unstructured *** different inflow conditions respectively of uniform and disturbed are considered,while for the latter a small circular cylinder is placed upstream of the cascade to generate wake turbulence as a long-standing disturbance.A high order Fourier-spectral/hp element method is employed to solve the flow dynamics in the cascade of high complex *** transition characteristics are quantified in terms of the distribution of cascade wall surface pressure and friction coefficient,the distribution of wake profile pressure loss and the evolution characteristics of boundary layer flow structures as *** numerical results show that the current numerical simulations accurately predict the flow transition performance of low-pressure turbine cascades and capture the effects of wake-generated disturbance on the cascade,which is shown to effectively modify the flow transition performance as compared with the uniform inflow case.

DEL RBC transfusion should be avoided in particular blood recipient in East Asia due to allosensitization and ineffectiveness

Previously, both primary and secondary anti-D alloimmunizations induced by "Asian type" DEL (RHD1227A allele) were observed in two incidents. We investigated how often these alloimmunization events occur. The transfusions of any D-negative patients were investigated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Medical College, China, during the entire 2009. The antigens of D, C, c, E, and e were routinely serotyped. The "Asian type" DEL variant was genotyped and the RHD heterozygote was determined through two published methods. The changes in anti-D levels were monitored by the indirect antiglobulin test (IAT) and flow cytometry. Thirty D-negative transfused patients were included in the study. We focused on 11 recipients who were transfused with packed red blood cells (RBCs) from DEL donors at least one time. Of those 11 recipients, seven were anti-D negative before transfusion and four were anti-D positive (one patient with an autoantibody). One of the seven pre-transfusion anti-D negative patients produced a primary-response anti-D after being transfused with 400 ml of DEL blood twice. All four pre-transfusion antibody positive patients were not observed hemoglobin (Hb) levels increased, as expected after transfusions. Two patients had an increase in anti-D from 1:8 to 1:64 by IAT, which was also shown by flow cytometry. None of the patients experienced an acute hemolytic episode. Our data indicated that the primary anti-D induced by DEL transfusion or the secondary anti-D elevated by DEL in a truly D-negative patient might not be unusual. We suggest that a truly D-negative childbearing-aged woman should avoid DEL transfusion to protect her from primary anti-D allosensitization. In addition, anti-D positive recipients should also avoid DEL red cell transfusion due to the delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction (DHTR).

Superior machinability of steel enhanced with BN and MnS particles

The strategy that replacing part of MnS with BN was proposed in order to decrease the sulfur content in sulfur based free-cutting steel. The effects of BN and MnS inclusions on the microstructure and machinability of the steel were systematically investigated. The results show that most of the BN and MnS inclusions exist individually in the steel and only a small amount of them are in a composite state form- ing either isolated particles or clusters of particles. In the case of multi-phased steel, the theoretical calculation predicts that the volume of large BN particles should be 0.7 times of the volume of large MnS particles. The machinability of this type of BN and MnS alloy steel over a wide range of cutting speeds ranging from a low speed appropriate for drilling to a high speed appropriate for turning is confirmed as being equal to or superior to that of an MnS reference steel, even though the sulfur content in the composite steel is only half that of the MnS steel. The aptitude for cutting effect of 240 ppm nitrogen and 115 ppm boron in the composite steel is demonstrated to be equivalent or even better than 1000 ppm sulfur in MnS free-cutting steel.

Neural Attentional Relation Extraction with Dual Dependency Trees

Toughening mechanisms of a high-strength acicular ferrite steel heavy plate

An ultra-low carbon acicular ferrite steel heavy plate was obtained with an advanced thermo-mechanical control process-relaxed precipitation controlled transformation （TMCP-RPC） at Xiangtan Steel, Valin Group. The heavy plate has a tensile strength of approximately 600 MPa with a lower yield ratio. The impact toughness of the heavy plate achieves 280 J at ？40°C. The fine-grained mixed microstructures of the heavy plate mainly consist of acicular ferrite, granular bainite, and polygonal ferrite. The high strength and excellent toughness of the heavy plate are attributed to the formation of acicular ferrite microstructure. The prevention of blocks of martensite/retained austenite （M/A） and the higher cleanness are also responsible for the superior toughness.

Effect of M-EMS on the solidification structure of a steel billet

Effects of mold electromagnetic stirring （M-EMS） on the solidification structure of 45# steel billet were investigated by examination of interdendritic corrosion. The results show that the primary and secondary dendrite arm spacings increase from the edge of the billet to the center and decrease obviously with increasing electromagnetic torque, which will be beneficial to refine the solidification structure and enlarge the equiaxed crystal zone. The ratio of equiaxed crystal increases by 15.9% with the electromagnetic torque increasing from 230 to 400 cN·cm. The increase of stirring intensity can improve the cooling rate and the impact of M-EMS on it reduces from the edge of the billet to the central area, where the cooling rates are similar at different torques. The closer to the central area, the less the influence of M-EMS on the cooling rate is. The ratio of the primary to secondary dendrite arm spacing is approximately 2.0, namely, λ1≈2λ2, and is constant irrespective of the stirring intensity and position of the billet. Original position analysis （OPA） results indicate that the center segregation of the billet is greatly improved, and the more uniform and compact solidification structure will be obtained with the increase of stirring intensity.

Laser ablation is an important process during Laser-Assisted Grinding(LAG)of hard and brittle *** realize controllable material removal during laser ablation of RB-SiC composites,ablation experiments under different Laser Energy Density(LAED)and LAG experiments are *** rules and mechanism of physical phase,ablation morphology and crack characteristics caused by laser irradiation are *** forces of LAG and Conventional Grinding(CG)are *** results show that ablation surface changes from slight oxidation to obvious material removal with LAED increasing,and ablation depth increases *** ablation products change from submicron SiO_(2)particles to nanoscale particles and *** LAED promotes SiC decomposition and sublimation,which leads to the increase of C *** SiC phase forms corrugated shape in recast layer and columnar shape in Heat Affected Zone(HAZ)at 56 J/mm^(2).The cold and heat cycle leads to formation of fishbone *** ablation specimen under 30 J/mm^(2),the grinding force can be reduced by a maximum of 39%and brittle damage region is *** material removal and microcrack generated will significantly reduce the hardness and improve machinability,which can promote grinding efficiency.
