Objective The aim of our study was to assess the complications of hepatic fibrosis associated with bile duct ligation and the potential curative role of sepia ink extract in hepatic damage induced by bile duct ligation. Methods Rattus norvegicus rats were divided into 3 groups: Sham-operated group, model rats that underwent common bile duct ligation (BDL), and BDL rats treated orally with sepia ink extract (200 mg/kg body weight) for 7, 14, and 28 d after BDL. Results There was a significant reduction in hepatic enzymes, alP, GGT, bilirubin levels, and oxidative stress in the BDL group after treatment with sepia ink extract. Collagen deposition reduced after sepia ink extract treatment as compared to BDL groups, suggesting that the liver was repaired. Histopathological examination of liver treated with sepia ink extract showed moderate degeneration in the hepatic architecture and mild degeneration in hepatocytes as compared to BDL groups. Conclusion Sepia ink extract provides a curative effect and an antioxidant capacity on BDL rats and could ameliorate the complications of liver cholestasis.

Isolation and characterization of marine-derived actinomycetes with cytotoxic activity from the Red Sea coast

Objective: To isolate and evaluate the cytotoxic activity of different actinomycetes species isolated from the Red Sea coast in Sharm el-Sheikh, ***: Forty actinomycetes strains were isolated from different sediments and seawater samples collected from the Red Sea coast in Egypt. Actinomycetes were recognized by morphological and microscopic examinations. Cell viability and cytotoxicity induced by the crude extracts on breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 were assessed using methylene blue assay. The strains with promising cytotoxic activity were identified by sequencing and amplifying the 16 S r RNA genes. The antibacterial activities of the crude extracts were performed using Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion ***: The results indicated that five ethyl acetate extracts exhibited cytotoxicity towards breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231. The highest cytotoxic activity was found for the ethyl acetate extracts of EGY2 and EGY39. The isolate EGY3 was identified as a new Streptomyces species, while the actinomycete EGY22 was found to be a member of the genus Nocardiopsis sp. The crude extract of the isolate EGY8 showed slightly high antimicrobial activity against different test ***: The results of the present study reveal that marine sediments of the Red Sea are a potent source of novel species of actinomycetes. The isolates may be useful in discovery of novel bioactive compounds and an important step in the development of microbial natural product research.

Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP): About 146 Cases at Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Nouakchott Mauritania

Introduction: Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), entered our service in October 2015, since then it became a part of the service daily activity. The aim of our study is to assess the acceptance of the technic by our patients and by the nursing staff and to analyze the results of our initial experience. Materials and Methods: Retrospective study over 14-month (October 2015 to December 2016);bringing together all the patients who received TURP. The inclusion criteria are to have benefited from a TURP in our service. The exclusion criteria all patients operated by other techniques. It was a monopolar resection of the prostate using a glycocolle loop, the size limit of the prostate was 65 cc or less. A questionnaire on the knowledge of the technique and its acceptance is made. The parameters studied the age of the patient;surgical indications;the course of the operation, the complications and the course. The frequency of TURP compared to other techniques and the demand for this technique by patients. The urinary catheter was left in place for 4 days, the patients were seen again on day 7 after the catheter was removed to assess the urine flow, a question regarding the opinion of the nursing staff was included and analyzed separately. Results: The total number of patients was 146;the mean age was 68.2 years. The main cause of consultation was urine retention 65%. The average duration of the intervention was 56 minutes. The average length of hospital stay was 28 hours. The urinary catheter was removed on day 4. Complications were bleeding in 7% of cases requiring blood transfusions. Failure to remove the indwelling catheter leads to revision via the transurethral route. The TURP syndrome was observed in 2 patients in our early patients but quickly resolved. The outcome was favorable in 75% of cases. Post operating management give satisfaction for nurse and acceptance was a success. Conclusion:

The aim of this paper deals with the study of the Horn matrix function of two complex variables. The convergent properties, an integral representation of H2(A,A′,B,B′;C;z,w) is obtained and recurrence matrix relations are given. Some result when operating on Horn matrix function with the differential operator D and a solution of certain partial differential equations are established. The Hadamard product of two Horn’s matrix functions is studied, certain results as, the domain of regularity, contiguous functional relations and operating with the differential operator D and D2 are established.

Urinary lithiases occupy an important position with respect to urological activities in our department. In our Sahel region, lithiasic pathology represents 40% in urology in Senegal [1]. In Mauritania, we did not find a study evaluating the prevalence of this pathology. The frequency and gravity are variable. The objective of the study was to report the clinical profile and the results of management of urinary lithiasis in our environment. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective, descriptive study spanning over two years (April 2015 to March 2017) in the urology department of Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Nouakchott. all patients operated for urinary lithiasis during this period were included in the study. The operative techniques used were semi rigid ureteroscopy, extra corporeal lithotrity, open surgery. Our center did not have flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The indications were lithotrity for calculations lower than 20 mm of low density. Biger than 20 mm were by open surgery. Semi rigid ureteroscopy for distal ureteral calculi. Medical treatment or monitoring for non-obstructive calculi is less than 7 mm. Urine drainage by jj probe or nephrostomy are performed. We excluded all patients with lithiasis for the medical treatment. The result was good when absence of lithiasis residues was less than 7 mm and removal of the obstruction. Results: A total of 164 patients were found. The average age was 41 years, and F/M ratio was 1/10. Considering geographical origin, 82% of patients came from rural areas. The presenting complaint was mainly Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (56%) and Renal Colicky Pain (31%). The bladder and kidneys were the most common (respective 45% and 35%) sites of stone location. Bilateral stones were 18%. Staghorn stones constituted 6% of the cases. Cold-formed steel structures are steel structure products constructed from sheets or coils using cold rolling, press brake or bending brake method. These structures are extensively employed in building construction industry due to their light mass, ductility by economic cold forming operations, favorable strength-to-mass ratio and other factors. The utilization of cold formed steel sections with concrete as composite can hugely reduce the construction cost. However, the use of cold formed steel members in composite concrete beams has been very limited. A comprehensive review of developments in composite beam with cold formed steel sections was introduced. It was revealed that employing cold-formed steel channel section to replace reinforcement bars in conventional reinforced concrete beam results in a significant cost reduction without reducing strength capacity. The use of composite beam consisting of cold-formed steel open or close box and filled concrete could also reduce construction cost. Lighter composite girder for bridges with cold-formed steel of U section was introduced. Moreover, types of shear connectors to provide composite action between cold-formed steel beam and concrete slab were presented. However, further studies to investigate the effects of metal decking on the behavior of composite beam with cold-formed steel section and introduction of ductile shear connectors were recommended.

Kinetic Electron-Ion Two Streams Instability in Space Dusty Plasma with Temperature Gradient

The excitation, growing and damping of current instability is an important and vital subject for a lot of studies through its importance in communication for instance and in understanding the nature of space and the interpretation of many phenomena in space and astrophysics. Recent analytical and numerical works are presented to describe and investigate the excitation and growing of kinetic electron-ion two streams instability in anisotropic inhomogeneous dusty space plasmas. We elucidated the thermal effects of plasma species on the characteristics of such instability. It is found that the gradient of space plasma temperature, , is a cause of interesting physical phenomena. Besides, different parameters, such as electron to ion temperature ratio , magnetized plasma and dust grains, are also found to play a crucial role in the growth and depression of such instability.

Aim:Prostate cancer(PCa)is the second most prevalent male cancer worldwide and designated the sixth most frequent male cancer in Arab *** prostate specific antigen(PSA)has become the best and most valuable biomarker for screening of PCa,elevated levels of PSA can reflect the presence of malignant cells but can overlap with benign prostatic *** is a necessity to develop and improve current tools for early detection and diagnosis of *** study was done to evaluate the validation of serum insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),IGF binding protein-3(IGFBP-3),chromogranin A(CgA)and combination with PSA in treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and PCa ***:The study included 72 patients with PCa,70 BPH patients and 56 healthy male subjects of matched *** history and clinical data were recorded for all ***:Serum PSA attained sensitivity of 84%at 82%specificity with an accuracy of 83%,although IGF-1,IGFBP-3 and CgA did not recognize PCa ***:Combinations of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 biomarkers with PSA were effectively differentiated between PCa and control groups as well as improving the overall value of sensitivity,specificity and diagnostic accuracy of PCa to 85%and 86%for IGF-1/PSA and IGFP-3/PSA respectively.
