Efficacy and safety of Cimicifuga foetida extract on menopausal syndrome in Chinese women

Background It is now recognized that Cimicifuga foetida extract is effective in alleviating menopausal symptoms. But the durations reported were usually short. This paper compares the clinical effects of different regimens of three-month course on climacteric symptoms in Chinese women, so as to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Cimicifuga foefida extract. Methods This was a prospective, randomized trial. Ninety-six early menopausal women were recruited and randomly assigned into 3 groups to take different kinds of medicine for 3 months; participants were given Cimicifuga foefida extract daily in group A （n=32）, given estradiol valerate and progesterone capsule cycle sequentially in group B （n=32）, and given estradiol valerate and medroxyprogesterone acetate cycle sequentially in group C （n=32）. The questionnaires of Kupperman menopause index, Menopause-Specific Quality of Life, and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale were finished before and after the treatment. The status of vaginal bleeding and breast tenderness was recorded every day. Results Eighty-nine participants （89/96, 92.7%） completed the treatment. Kupperman menopause index decreased after taking the medicine for 3 months in each group （with all P〈0.001）, but the score after the treatment was higher in group A than in the other 2 groups. Except for the score of sexual domain in group A （P=0.103）, the scores of all domains of the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life decreased significantly after the treatment in all groups （with all P〈-0.01）. Score of anxity decreased significantly in group A （P=0.0l 5） and B （P=0.003）. Incidence of breast tenderness was 12.9% （4/31） in groupA, 36.7% （11/30） in group B, and 14.3% （4/28） in group C. Incidence of vaginal bleeding was 6.5% （2/31）in group A, 26.7% （8/30） in group B, and 82.1% （23/28）in group C. Over the years,the high magnetic induction of industrial Mn-added electrical steel is assumed to be the enhancement of{100}texture derived from its austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot rolling(phase transformation(PT)method).However,it is still undetermined without straightforward experimental *** reason for{100}texture improvement of Mn-added electrical steel is experimentally confirmed due to the recrystallization induced by the austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot ***,a more promising methodology to further improve{100}texture and formability of hot-rolled electrical steel is promoted by the control of hot rolling deformation condition(shear deformation(SD)method).The results show that the nucleation mechanisms of{100}oriented recrystallized grains are different in the samples by SD and PT methods,which are in-depth shear deformation and austenite-ferrite phase transformation,*** this case,coarse{100}oriented recrystallized grains and low residual stress are obtained in the sample by SD method,which is responsible for its superior{100}texture and *** contrast,the sample by PT method forms fine recrystallized grains with random orientations and accumulates severe residual stress.

A new exceptionally preserved corystosperm wood from the Jurassic of East Asia

Corystosperms, an extinct group of “seed ferns” that lived from the late Permian to the Cretaceous or Eocene, are significant for seed plant phylogeny for their unique roles in partially resolving the long-standing question of angiosperm origins.A new fossil wood taxon, Fengweioxylon sinense gen. et sp. nov. is reported here based on exceptionally preserved wood material from the Jurassic in western Liaoning, China, whose peculiar wood structure enables it to be recognized as the first unequivocal fossil wood record of a corystosperm plant in Laurasia. The anatomical structures of this corystosperm wood show gymnospermous characters. The discovery of the new specimen will provide more anatomical evidence for understanding the systematic and affinity of this seed plants.

中国西部资源丰富但经济发展却相对落后,中国东部资源稀缺但经济发展相对迅速。在西部遭受某种"资源诅咒"的前提下,西部民众如何看待"东部经济发展"和"西部资源开发"的关系?研究使用"西部社会经济发展变迁调查"数据,旨在探讨宏观的财政制度影响下,西部民众对这种资源诅咒的社会认知,即财政转移支付及实施的透明度能否影响西部民众所持有的东部经济发展是以牺牲西部资源为代价的这一认知。数据分析结果显示,财政转移支付越高的省份,民众越不认同"东部经济发展"会导致"西部资源流失";财政透明度越高的省份,民众更认同"东部经济发展"会导致"西部资源流失"。这表明在信息对称的情形下,西部民众对东部发展优先的东部主义持消极态度,但财政转移支付在某种程度上能缓解这种消极态度。

真菌性角膜炎(fungal keratitis,FK)是一种由致病真菌引起的、致盲率极高的感染性角膜病,随着现代医学的发展,早期患者或者对药物敏感的真菌感染患者,药物或手术治愈率较前有了明显的提高,但是晚期患者及对药物不敏感的致病真菌感染患者,药物难以控制、溃疡迁延不愈、病情进展恶化,目前仍旧是临床上角膜盲的主要病因之一。在文中我们将就真菌性角膜炎药物及手术治疗的近5a国内外的研究进展作一综述。

Node ranking based on graph curvature and PageRank

Identifying key nodes in complex networks is crucial for understanding and controlling their dynamics. Traditional centrality measures often fall short in capturing the multifaceted roles of nodes within these networks. The Page Rank algorithm, widely recognized for ranking web pages, offers a more nuanced approach by considering the importance of connected nodes. However, existing methods generally overlook the geometric properties of networks, which can provide additional insights into their structure and functionality. In this paper, we propose a novel method named Curv-Page Rank(C-PR), which integrates network curvature and Page Rank to identify influential nodes in complex networks. By leveraging the geometric insights provided by curvature alongside structural properties, C-PR offers a more comprehensive measure of a node's influence. Our approach is particularly effective in networks with community structures, where it excels at pinpointing bridge nodes critical for maintaining connectivity and facilitating information flow. We validate the effectiveness of C-PR through extensive experiments. The results demonstrate that C-PR outperforms traditional centrality-based and Page Rank methods in identifying critical nodes. Our findings offer fresh insights into the structural importance of nodes across diverse network configurations, highlighting the potential of incorporating geometric properties into network analysis.

目的制定炔诺酮片的国际药典质量标准。方法参照国内外已有的炔诺酮及炔诺酮片的质量标准和文献,按照国际药典标准的制定要求,选择合适的方法并进行验证。结果薄层鉴别系统适用性试验中炔诺酮和炔雌醇可有效分离;有关物质检测色谱条件可有效分离9种已知杂质和其他未知杂质,液质联用试验证明主峰相对保留时间1.1倍处的杂质为炔雌醇;炔诺酮片在含0.09%的SDS的0.1 mol·L^(-1)的盐酸中30 min均能溶出90%以上,溶出曲线达到平台;按照含量测定的色谱条件实验,炔诺酮在0.746~29.840μg·m L^(-1)内与峰面积呈良好线性关系(r=0.999 9),炔诺酮和炔雌醇的分离度大于4.0。结论制定的质量标准简便、准确,充分考虑了方法的可行性、试剂可及性,可有效控制产品质量。
