Melanocortins,including a-melanocyte stimulating hormone(a-MSH),b-MSH,g-MSH,and adrenocorticotropin(ACTH),are ancient peptides highly conserved in vertebrates and exhibit diverse well-established functions,including dermal pigmentation,adrenal steroidogenesis and cell proliferation,energy homeostasis,and inflammation.1 Melanocortins exert their diverse functions through five melanocortin receptors(MCRs),MC1R-MC5R,numbered based on the sequence of their cloning.

Tetrachlorobisphenol A (TCBPA) released into the sewage may cause environmental pollution and health risk to human beings. The objective of this study was to investigate the removal ofTCBPA and bacterial community structures in a laboratory-scale hybrid sequencing biofilm batch reactor (SBBR)- constructed wetland (CW) system. The results showed that the removal efficiency of chemical oxidation demand (COD), ammonia, total nitrogen and total phosphorus in the SBBR-CW system was 96.7%, 97.3%, 94.4%, and 8&6% respectively. At the stable operation stage, the system obtained a 71.7%±1.8% of TCBPA removal efficiency with the influent concentration at 200μg/L. Illumina MiSeq sequencing of 16S rRNA gene revealed that the presence of TCBPA not only reduced the bacterial diversity in the SBBR-CW system, but also altered the composition and structure of bacterial community. After the addition of TCBPA, Proteobacteria increased from 31.3% to 38.7%, while Acidobacteria and Parcubacteria decreased greatly in the SBBR. In contrast, Acidobacteria replaced Proteobacteria as the dominant phylum in the upper soils of CW. The results indicated that TCBPA stimulated the growth of GAOs in the SBBR without deteriorating the phosphorus removal due to the presence of sufficient carbon sources. The ammonia oxidizing bacteria, Nitrosomonas, and denitrification bacteria, Hyphomicrobium and Pseudomonas, were inhibited by TCBPA, resulting in a decreasing the removal efficiency of TN and ammonia.

The design and development of highly permeable,selective and stable polymer membranes are great challenges in the gas separation ***,we constructed two intrinsic microporous polyimides(6FPCA and 6FMCA)derived from two isometric diamines(PCA and MCA),which were synthesized by palladium catalyzed C—N coupling *** PCA and MCA diamines contain a hollow beaded structure of 2,2′-paracyclophane as a building block with a specified window size of 3.09Å.The chemical structures of monomers,polyimides were confirmed by NMR,FTIR,and elementary analysis.6FPCA and 6FMCA exhibit good solubility,excellent thermal stability,and mechanical properties.6FPCA exhibits much larger microporosity(434 versus 120 m2·g−1),FFV(0.22 versus 0.15),d-spacing(6.9 versus 5.9Å),and over 10 times higher permeability with a very little decrease in selectivity than the corresponding polyimide(6FpA)with a plane structure,which remarkably increased their separation performance from far below the 2008 Robeson Upper bounds to reach these limitations for O2/N2 and CO2/***,the 6FPCA also demonstrates good plasticization resistance,moderate aging properties,and high CO2/CH4 mixed-gas separation *** results indicate that paracyclophane subunit can be successfully incorporated into polymers to enhance their ultra-microporosity and separation properties,which open a new avenue for developing high performance gas separation membranes with topological ultra-micropores.

The effect of TiO_(2) absorption into two different CaO-BaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold slags from the steel plant on the viscosity,melting performance and microstructure of slags was investigated through the measurement of the viscosity-temperature relationship,melting temperature and Raman *** parameter of the number of non-bridging oxygen per tetrahedrally-coordinated atom(NBO/T)was also calculated to explain the microstructure variation of molten slags with different TiO_(2) *** variation of the actual slag consumption and the depth of the liquid slag in mold was explained through the comparison of the viscosity and the melting temperature of two different *** viscosity of mold slags(basicity=0.6)decreased from 1.1 to 0.68 Pa s with the increase in the Ti0_(2) absorption from 0 to 10%,while that of slags(basicity=0.7)decreased from 0.76 to 0.56 Pa s with the Ti0_(2) absorption from 0 to 6%.The activation energy of both two groups of slags had the tendency to decrease with the increasing TiO_(2) *** network structure of both two groups of slags measured by the Raman spectra showed that the fraction of complex structure units(Q^(1),Q^(2),Q^(3) and A1-O-Al)decreased and simple structure units(Al-O-and Q^(0))increased with the increase in TiO_(2) ***/T also increased with the increase in the TiO2 absorption,indicating that the absorption of TiO_(2) into slags resulted in the destruction of silicate/aluminate ***,the absorption of TiO_(2) into the current CaO-BaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) mold slags decreased the degree of polymerization of these slags and then led to the decrease of viscosity.

Biological treatment processes are critical for sewage purification,wherein microbial interactions are tightly associated with treatment *** studies have focused on assessing how environmental factors(such as salinity)affect the diversity and composition of the microbial community but ignore the connections among ***,we described the microbial interactions in response to elevated salinity in an activated sludge system by performing an association network *** was found that higher salinity resulted in low microbial diversity,and small,complex,more competitive overall networks,leading to poor performance of the treatment *** of major phyla(Proteobacteria,Bacteroidetes,and Chloroflexi)and functional bacteria(such as AOB,NOB and denitrifiers)differed substantially under elevated salinity *** with subnetworks of Nitrosomonadaceae,Nitrosomonas(AOB)made a greater contribution to nitrification under higher salinity(especially 3%)in the activated sludge *** established more proportion of cooperative relationships with other bacteria to resist 3%salinity ***,identified keystone species playing crucial roles in maintaining process stability were dynamics and less abundant under salinity *** gleaned from this study deepened our understanding of microbial interaction in response to elevated salinity in activated sludge systems.

ECG quality assessment based on a kernel support vector machine and genetic algorithm with a feature matrix

We propose a systematic ECG quality classification method based on a kernel support vector machine(KSVM) and genetic algorithm(GA) to determine whether ECGs collected via mobile phone are acceptable or not. This method includes mainly three modules, i.e., lead-fall detection, feature extraction, and intelligent classification. First, lead-fall detection is executed to make the initial classification. Then the power spectrum, baseline drifts, amplitude difference, and other time-domain features for ECGs are analyzed and quantified to form the feature matrix. Finally, the feature matrix is assessed using KSVM and GA to determine the ECG quality classification results. A Gaussian radial basis function(GRBF) is employed as the kernel function of KSVM and its performance is compared with that of the Mexican hat wavelet function(MHWF). GA is used to determine the optimal parameters of the KSVM classifier and its performance is compared with that of the grid search(GS) method. The performance of the proposed method was tested on a database from PhysioNet/Computing in Cardiology Challenge 2011, which includes 1500 12-lead ECG recordings. True positive(TP), false positive(FP), and classification accuracy were used as the assessment indices. For training database set A(1000 recordings), the optimal results were obtained using the combination of lead-fall, GA, and GRBF methods, and the corresponding results were: TP 92.89%, FP 5.68%, and classification accuracy 94.00%. For test database set B(500 recordings), the optimal results were also obtained using the combination of lead-fall, GA, and GRBF methods, and the classification accuracy was 91.80%.

The effect of electromagnetic stirring on molten steel flow and heat transfer in a 260 mm× 300 mm bloom mold was investigated by using a method combining both finite element method and finite volume method. The simu lation results related to magnetic fields were consistent with the onsite measured data. The magnetic flux density in creased with increasing the current intensity but decreased with increasing the current frequency. Electromagnetic stirring caused molten steel to flow with rotation on a horizontal section and two sets of recirculation regions with opposite fellow directions in a longitudinal section formed. The maximum tangential velocity increased with increasing the current intensity and frequency. Rotator cuff tendons respond to continuous loading in both states of rest and motion;therefore,it is not surprising that rotator cuff tear(RCT)is the most common musculoskeletal injury of the *** to the classification of RCTs,massive RCT is defined as a tear of>5 cm or a tear involving two or more rotator cuff tendons.[1]When a massive RCT cannot be repaired surgically,i.e.,a tear in which direct tendon-to-bone repair in the remaining rotator cuff is not possible,it was termed as irreparable massive RCT.[2]Unsurprisingly,patients with irreparable massive RCT have extremely poor functional outcomes.
