The flower-like silver nanoparticles have been synthesized by reducing silver nitrate （AgNO3） with ascorbic acid （AA） as the reductant and polyvinyl pyrrolidone （PVP） as the capping agent under vigorous stirring. Such flower-like nanoparticles are aggregates of small nanoplates and nanorods. They were tested as substrates for the surface-enhanced Raman scattering （SERS）, showing high sensitivity for detecting Rhodamine 6G （RBG） at a concentration as low as 10 7 mol/L. It has been found that replacing mechanical stirring with ultrasound sonication would drastically change the particle morphology, from flower-like nanoparticles to well-dispersed smaller nanoparticles. Furthermore, when trace amounts of NaC1 were added into the reagents, well-dispersed Ag nanoparticles formed even in vigorous stirring. These phenomena can be explained with the diffusion and reactant supply during nucleation and growth of Ag nanoparticles.

Floral nectar is thought to be one of the most important rewards that attract pollinators in Pedicularis; however, few studies have examined variation of nectary structure and/or nectar secretion in the genus, particularly among closely related species. Here we investigated nectary morphology, nectar quality, and nectar production dynamics in flowers of Pedicularis section Cyathophora. We found a conical floral nectary at the base of the ovary in species of the rex-thamnophila clade. Stomata were found on the sudace of the nectary, and copious starch grains were detected in the nectary tissues. In contrast, a semi-annular nectary was found in flowers of the species of the superba clade. Only a few starch grains were observed in tissues of the semi-annular nectary, and the nectar sugar concentration in these flowers was much lower than that in the flowers of the rexthamnophila clade. Our results indicate that the floral nectary has experienced considerable morphological, structural, and functional differentiation among closely related species of Pedicularis. This could have affected nectar production, leading to a shift of the pollination mode. Our results also imply that variation of the nectary morphology and nectar production may have played an important role in the speciation of sect. Cyathophora.

The message delivery .ratio and transmission delay is affected deeply by road traffic flow in vehicular ad hoc networks （VANETs）. An opportunistic routing based on geography and road traffic flow for VANETs （ORRIS） was proposed. ORRIS leverages the knowledge of geography positions, motion vectors and road traffic flows. In order to estimate the traffic flow density, the history of encounter number of the vehicles in the opposite direction is considered in ORRIS. The forwarding decisions are made by distributed vehicles based on the geography topology and the road traffic flow. The real map based simulation results show that ORRIS has a better performance than other algorithms, especially when the road traffic is busy or the traffic flow rates have great differences between roads.

Tower, Spar platform and mooring system are designed in the project based on a given 6-MW wind turbine. Under wind-induced only, wave-induced only and combined wind and wave induced loads, dynamic response is analyzed for a 6-MW Spar-type floating offshore wind turbine （FOWT） under operating conditions and parked conditions respectively. Comparison with a platform-fixed system （land-based system） ofa 6-MW wind turbine is carried out as well. Results demonstrate that the maximal out-of-plane deflection of the blade of a Spar-type system is 3.1% larger than that of a land-based system; the maximum response value of the nacelle acceleration is 215% larger for all the designed load cases being considered; the ultimate tower base fore-aft bending moment of the Spar-type system is 92% larger than that of the land-based system in all of the Design Load Cases （DLCs） being considered; the fluctuations of the mooring tension is mainly wave-induced, and the safety factor of the mooring tension is adequate for the 6-MW FOWT. The results can provide relevant modifications to the initial design for the Spar-type system, the detailed design and model basin test of the 6-MW Spar-type system.

Reheating Austenitizing Temperature of Spring Steel 60Si2MnA for Railway

The microsturctural transformation of austenite grain, pearlite interlamellar spacing, and lamellar cement ite thickness of spring steel 60Si2MnA for railway were studied in the hot-rolled and reheated states. Furthermore, the effect of microstructural characterization on its final mechanical properties was discussed. The results showed that as far as 60Si2MnA, the pearlite interlamellar spacing determined the hardness, whereas, the austenite grain determined the toughness. Compared with microstructure and mechanical properties in the hot rolled state, after reheating treatment at 950 ℃, its average grain sizes are apparently fine and the pearlite interlamellar spacing and lamellar cementite thickness coarsen to some extent, but both hardness and impact toughness increase to HRC 48 and 8.5 J, respectively. In the course of making spring, the optimum reheating austenitizing temperature for the 60Si2MnA steel is 950 ℃.
