Three-dimensional thermohaline anomaly structures of rings in the Kuroshio Extension region

Using AVISO satellite altimeter observations during 1993–2015 and a manual eddy detection method, a total of 276 anticyclonic rings and 242 cyclonic rings shed from the Kuroshio Extension(KE) were identified, and their three-dimensional(3D) anomaly structures were further reconstructd based on the Argo float data and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology(JAMSTEC) cruise and buoy data through an interpolation method. It is found that the cyclonic(anticyclonic) rings presented consistent negative(positive) anomalies of potential temperature;meanwhile the relevant maximum anomaly center became increasingly shallow for the cyclonic rings whereas it went deeper for the anticyclonic rings as the potential temperature anomaly decreased from the west to the east. The above deepening or shoaling trend is associated with the zonal change of the depth of the main thermocline. Moreover, the composite cold ring between 140° and 150°E was found to exhibit a double-core vertical structure due to the existence of mode water with low potential vorticity. Specifically, a relatively large negative(positive) salinity anomaly and a small positive(negative) one appeared for the composite cyclonic(anticyclonic) ring at the depth above and below 600 m, respectively. The underlying driving force for the temperature and salinity anomaly of the composite rings was also attempted, which varies depending on the intensity of the background current and the temperature and salinity fields in different areas of the KE region, and the rings’ influences on the temperature and salinity could reach deeper than 1 000 m on average.

The use of high-permittivity(high-k) thin films as gate dielectrics is essential in the development of lowpower electronics,In this work,rare-earth thulium oxide(Tm_(2)O_(3)) thin films were prepared by a facile solution process and annealed at various temperatures from 400 to 700℃.The evolution of the physical and dielectric properties of Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film with annealing temperature was *** is demonstrated that the Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film annealed at 600℃ exhibits the optimal performance,including a low leakage current of 3×10^(-10) A/cm^(2),a large areal capacitance of 250 nF/cm^(2) at 100 Hz,and a high permittivity value of *** Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film as a gate insulator was integrated into the thin film transistor(TFT) employing In_(2)O_(3)-based semiconducting *** In_(2)O_(3) TFT with 600℃-annealed Tm_(2)O_(3) dielectric exhibits the superior perfo rmance,with a high I_(on)/I_(off) of 1.65×10^(7),a small subthre shold swing(SS) value of 0.2 V/dec,a V_(TH) of+1.8 V,and a mobility of 1.68 cm^(2)/(V·s).Furthermore,an inverter constructed by connecting the TFT with a resistor exhibits full-swing *** work provides a facile and appealing method for preparing the high-k Tm_(2)O_(3) thin films as alternative gate dielectrics with the potential for use in low-power electronics and logic circuit applications.

Fracture morphologies of a hot stamped steel and comparisons with several sheet metals

Hot stamping has been widely used in car industry to produce safety components. Most existing re- searches focused on the stamping and quenching process, but less on the mechanical properties of stamped parts. The fracture behaviors of hot stamped boron steel B1500HS have been studied, and other four commonly used sheet metals with different strengths, including Q235, TRIP780, QP980 and MS1300, were also introduced for comparison. Both uniaxial tests and mechanical trimming tests were performed, and the fracture surfaces under different stress states were observed and discussed. The SEM observations showed that the fracture models are closely related to the stress states, i. e., the tensile surfaces have ductile rupture characters while the trimming surfaces have brittle rupture characters. Compared with other steels, the quenched boron steel has smaller dimple size accompa- nied by shear planes in the tensile surface, and has smaller burnish zone in the trimming surface, and its cutting surface with ＇S＇ like shape is also very different with others. Furthermore, two fitted em pirical models were derived to describe the quantitative correlations between the average dimple diam- eter and the steel strength and between the percentage of burnish zone and the steel strength.

Sini decoction alleviates inflammation injury after myocardial infarction through regulating arachidonic acid metabolism

Objective:Myocardial inflammation during myocardial infarction(MI) could be inhibited by regulating arachidonic acid(AA) *** studies demonstrated that Sini Decoction(SND) was identified to be an effective prescription for treating heart failure(HF) caused by *** the anti-inflammatory mechanism of SND remained *** work was designed to investigate the anti-inflammato ry mechanism of SND through the AA metabolism pathway in vitro and in vivo ***:An inflammatory injury model of H9c2 cells was established by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated macrophage-conditioned medium(CM).The MI model was built by the ligation of left anterior descending(LAD) branch of coronary artery in ***,the rats were divided into five groups:sham group,MI group,MI+Celecoxib group,MI+low-dose SND group(SND-L) and MI+high-dose SND group(SND-H).Cardiac function,histopathological changes and serum cytokines were examined four weeks *** blot analysis was conducted to verify the key enzymes levels in the AA metabolic pathway,including phospholipase A2(PLA2),cyclooxygenases(COXs) and lipoxygenases(LOXs).Results:These in vivo results demonstrated that SND could improve the cardiac function and pathological changes of rats with MI,and regulate the key inflammatory molecules in the AA metabolism pathway,including sPLA2,COX-1,COX-2,5-LOX and *** vitro,SND could decrease the release of proinflammatory cytokines including TNF-α and IL-6 and inhibit cell apoptosis in CM-induced H9c2 ***,SND could protect H9c2 cells from the damage of CM by regulating nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB) signal pathway and the expression of ***: SND may be a drug candidate for anti-inflammatory treatment during MI by regulating the multiple targets in the AA metabolism pathway.

“悲剧”与“现代性”通常被视为两个互不相干的概念，前者泛指展现人间苦难的文学作品，后者标识人类文明演变的最新阶段，但在20世纪初期和中期，有不少中外学者曾在这两者之间做出因果连接。乔治·斯坦纳及其追随者认为，现代社会崇尚科学理性，导致悲剧艺术在17世纪之后一蹶不振；胡适和许多同时代其他学人则将现代性在中国姗姗来迟部分归咎于悲剧的缺失。拨开历史的迷雾，我们现在可以清晰地看到，这两个论断其实都站不住脚，因为它们基于过分狭隘的悲剧定义，而且错误地坚持悲剧的凄惨结局不可或缺。
