Fast and robust production of quantum superposition states by the fractional shortcut to adiabaticity

The fractional shortcut to adiabaticity(f-STA) for the production of quantum superposition states is proposed firstly via a three-level system with a Λ-type linkage pattern and a four-level system with a tripod structure. The fast and robust production of the coherent superposition states is studied by comparing the populations for the f-STA and the fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage(f-STIRAP). The states with equal proportions can be produced by fixing the controllable parameters of the driving pulses at the final moment of the whole process. The effects of the pulse intensity and the time delay of the pulses on the production process are discussed by monitoring the populations on all of the quantum states. In particular, the spontaneous emission arising from the intermediate state is investigated by the quantum master equation. The result reveals that the f-STA exhibits superior advantages over the f-STIRAP in producing the superposition states.

Dear Editor,In this letter, a constrained networked predictive control strategy is proposed for the optimal control problem of complex nonlinear highorder fully actuated (HOFA) systems with noises. The method can effectively deal with nonlinearities, constraints, and noises in the system, optimize the performance metric, and present an upper bound on the stable output of the system.

Helium transport through nanoscale inorganic mineral pores and pore throats is essential for its overall *** elucidate helium's transport dynamics within nanopores,we employed equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to investigate helium's static self-diffusion and pressure-driven flow in quartz slit-shaped *** also introduced water and various gases,including hydrogen,methane,ethane,nitrogen,and carbon dioxide,into the nanopores to assess their influence on helium *** findings indicate minimal helium adsorption on quartz pore *** conditions where the pore size is less than 5 nm and the pressure under 10 MPa,environmental factors markedly influence helium *** pore sizes,high temperatures,and low gas pressures enhance helium desorption and facilitate faster *** observed a positive correlation between helium flow velocity and factors such as pore size,pressure gradient,and surface smoothness of the ***,the presence of pore water and carrier gases in quartz nanopores,which diffuse more slowly than helium,tends to reduce helium surface adsorption and slow its *** the carrier gases studied,nitrogen showed similar adsorption capacity,diffusivity,and stability to helium,while carbon dioxide displayed the highest adsorption capacity and the slowest diffusion rate,markedly differing from *** on the simulation results,we concluded that water and carrier gases primarily function as transport mediums in helium migration,moving together with ***,which shares similar properties with helium,effectively assists in this co-migration ***,carbon dioxide,due to its high adsorption capacity and slow diffusion,tends to be lost during *** a result,gas reservoirs with high nitrogen levels and low carbon dioxide levels are more likely to have higher helium ***,the smaller pore sizes and higher gas pressures in caproc

Establishing supply chains for future ammonia energy systems requires the development of efficient materials and processes for ammonia production under mild conditions. Recent researches disclose unique functionalities of binary alkali and alkaline earth metal hydrides in mediating ammonia synthesis. Thanks to the rich compositional and structural properties of the metalhydrogen system, we herein report that LiBaH3, as a narrow band gap perovskite hydride, exhibits a strong response to visible light illumination. Specifically, hydridic hydrogen undergoes reductive elimination of producing H2and creates an electron-rich surface. Such an environment favors dinitrogen fixation to form N–H bonds. Based on this chemical property, a chemical looping ammonia synthesis process mediated by LiBaH3and driven by both photo and thermal energies was proposed and *** work demonstrates that hydride perovskites are promising candidates for mediating photo-assisted nitrogen fixation reactions.

The effect of particle shape on the impact of dry granular flow remains an open area for further investigation. Five distinct particle shapes were examined in this study using discrete element simulations after calibrating the numerical model using a published work. The findings indicated that the particle shape had a significant influence on granular mobility. With negligible variations in normalized kinetic energy between particles of different shapes， the effect of particle shape on the increasing rate of kinetic energy became more obvious. All irregular particle scenarios had longer accumulated particle lengths down the channel than spherical particles. Variations in particle shape led to adjustments in the distribution of impact forces on the barrier. These findings substantially enhance our understanding of the distinctive effects of particle shapes on the impact mechanism of dry granular flow.
