Nuclear charge radius predictions by kernel ridge regression with odd-even effects

The extended kernel ridge regression(EKRR)method with odd-even effects was adopted to improve the description of the nuclear charge radius using five commonly used nuclear *** are:(i)the isospin-dependent A^(1∕3) formula,(ii)relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,(iii)Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov(HFB)model HFB25,(iv)the Weizsacker-Skyrme(WS)model WS*,and(v)HFB25**** the last two models,the charge radii were calculated using a five-parameter formula with the nuclear shell corrections and deformations obtained from the WS and HFB25 models,*** each model,the resultant root-mean-square deviation for the 1014 nuclei with proton number Z≥8 can be significantly reduced to 0.009-0.013 fm after considering the modification with the EKRR *** best among them was the RCHB model,with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.0092 *** extrapolation abilities of the KRR and EKRR methods for the neutron-rich region were examined,and it was found that after considering the odd-even effects,the extrapolation power was improved compared with that of the original KRR *** strong odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii of Ca and Cu isotopes and the abrupt kinks across the neutron N=126 and 82 shell closures were also calculated and could be reproduced quite well by calculations using the EKRR method.

Recently, facial-expression recognition (FER)has primarily focused on images in the wild, includingfactors such as face occlusion and image blurring, ratherthan laboratory images. Complex ﬁeld environmentshave introduced new challenges to FER. To addressthese challenges, this study proposes a cross-fusion dualattention network. The network comprises three parts:(1) a cross-fusion grouped dual-attention mechanism toreﬁne local features and obtain global information;(2) aproposed C2 activation function construction method,which is a piecewise cubic poly.omial with threedegrees of freedom, requiring less computation withimproved ﬂexibility and recognition abilities, whichcan better address slow running speeds and neuroninactivation problems;and (3) a closed-loop operationbetween the self-attention distillation process andresidual connections to suppress redundant informationand improve the generalization ability.of the *** recognition accuracies on the RAF-DB, FERPlus,and AffectNet datasets were 92.78%, 92.02%, and63.58%, respectively. Experiments show that this modelcan provide more effective solutions for FER tasks.

El Niño-Southern oscillation(ENSo)is the strongest interannual climate mode influencing the coupled ocean-atmosphere system in the tropical Pacific,and numerous dynamical and statistical models have been developed to simulate and predict *** some simplified coupled ocean-atmosphere models,the relationship between sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies and wind stress(τ)anomalies can be constructed by statistical methods,such as singular value decomposition(SVD).In recent years,the applications of artificial intelligence(AI)to climate modeling have shown promising prospects,and the integrations of AI-based models with dynamical models are active areas of *** study constructs U-Net models for representing the relationship between SSTAs andτanomalies in the tropical Pacific;the UNet-derivedτmodel,denoted asτUNet,is then used to replace the original SVD-basedτmodel of an intermediate coupled model(ICM),forming a newly AI-integrated ICM,referred to as *** simulation results obtained from ICM-UNet demonstrate their ability to represent the spatiotemporal variability.of oceanic and atmospheric anomaly fields in the equatorial *** the ocean-only case study,theτUNet-derived wind stress anomaly fields are used to force the ocean component of the ICM,the results of which also indicate reasonable simulations of typical ENSo *** results demonstrate the feasibility.of integrating an AI-derived model with a physics-based dynamical model for ENSo modeling ***,the successful integration of the dynamical ocean models with the AI-based atmospheric wind model provides a novel approach to ocean-atmosphere interaction modeling studies.

The real-time monitoring of the weld pool during deposition is important for automatic control in plasma arc additive *** obtain a high deposition accuracy,it is essential to maintain a stable weld pool *** this study,a novel passive visual method is proposed to measure the weld pool *** the proposed method,the image quality was improved by designing a special visual system that employed an endoscope and a *** also includes pixel brightness-based and gradient-based algorithms that can adaptively detect feature points at the boundary when the weld pool geometry *** algorithm can also be applied to materials with different solidification *** was performed to measure the real weld pool length in world coordinates,and outlier rejection was performed to increase the accuracy.of the ***,tests were carried out on the intersection component,and the results showed that the proposed method performed well in tracking the changing weld pool length and was applicable to the real-time monitoring of different types of materials.

Computational screening of single gases to replace SF_(6)for electrical insulation has been challenged by the difficulty in combining various mutually exclusive properties especially for dielectric performance with liquefaction and environmental *** reveal the inherent correlations between dielectric strength(Er),boiling point(Tb),and global warming potential(GWP)of dielectric materials,a coupled structure-activity relationship(CSAR)model has been proposed for the first *** means of the generic descriptors,as deduced from the electrostatic potentials,and the specific descriptors,as introduced from the respective microscopic mechanisms,the complex interdependence between Er,Tb,and GWP of the insulation gases is quantitatively characterised by the 3-D coupling *** coupling mechanism for the right balance of properties is uncovered in terms of the first-principle *** CSAR model outperforms the previous SAR models in predicting Er,Tb,and GWP simultaneously in a self-consistent *** importantly,the concept of CSAR could be extended readily to any multidimensional macroscopic *** replacement compounds have been identified tentatively to be the promising candidates to replace SF_(6)using the CSAR model.

An anti-saturation fault-tolerant adaptive torsional vibration control method with fixed-time prescribed performance for the rolling mill main drive system(RMMDS)was investigated,which is affected by control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter ***,we gave a continuously differentiable saturation function to approximate the control input saturation characteristic of the RMMDS,translating the saturation characteristic into the matched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain in the ***,an RMMDS mathematical model with unmatched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain was developed,taking into account the presence of control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter *** on the established mathematical model,an error transformation model of the roll speed tracking was constructed by the equivalent error transformation *** to the error transformation model,a barrier Lyapunov function and a novel adaptive controller were studied to ensure that the roll speed tracking error always evolves inside a fixed-time asymmetric ***,numerical simulations were performed in Matlab/Simulink to verify the effectiveness and superiority.of the proposed control method in suppressing the RMMDS torsional vibration.

Impacts of multi-scenario land use change on ecosystem services and ecological security pattern: A case study.of the yellow River Delta

The yellow River Delta(yRD), a critical economic zone along China's eastern coast, also functions as a vital ecological reserve in the lower yellow River. Amidst rapid industrialization and urbanization, the region has witnessed significant land use/cover changes(LUCC), impacting ecosystem services(ES) and ecological security patterns(ESP). Investigating LUCC's effects on ES and ESP in the yRD is crucial for ecological security and sustainable development. This study utilized the PLUS model to simulate 2030 land use scenarios, including natural development(NDS), economic development(EDS), and ecological protection scenarios(EPS). Subsequently, the InVEST model and circuit theory were applied to assess ES and ESP under varying LUCC scenarios from 2010 to 2030. Findings indicate:(1) Notable LUCC from 2010 to 2030, marked by decreasing cropland and increasing construction land and water bodies.(2) From 2010 to 2020, improvements were observed in carbon storage,water yield, soil retention, and habitat quality, whereas 2020–2030 saw increases in water yield and soil retention but declines in habitat quality and carbon storage. Among the scenarios, EPS showed superior performance in all four ES.(3) Between 2010 and 2030, ecological sources, corridors, and pinchpoints expanded, displaying significant spatial heterogeneity. The EPS scenario yielded the most substantial increases in ecological sources,corridors, and pinchpoints, totaling 582.89 km^(2), 645.03 km^(2),and 64.43 km^(2), respectively. This study highlights the importance of EPS, offering insightful scientific guidance for the yRD's sustainable development.

A 2D axisymmetric numerical model was established to investigate the variations of molten pool with different melt rates during the vacuum arc remelting of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel,and the ingot growth was simulated by dynamic mesh *** results show that as the ingot grows,the molten pool profile changes from shallow and flat to V-shaped,and both the molten pool depth and the mushy width ***,the variation of both the molten pool shape and the mushy width melt rate is clarified by the thermal equilibrium *** melt rate increases,both the molten pool depth and the mushy width *** is caused by the increment in sensible heat stored in the ingot due to the limitation of the cooling capacity.of the *** nonlinear increment in sensible heat leads to a nonlinear increase in the mushy *** addition,as melt rate increases,the local solidification time(LST)of ingot decreases obviously at first and then *** melt rate is controlled in a suitable range,LST is the lowest and the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the ingot is the smallest,which can effectively improve the compactness degree of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel.
