The regeneration of Tetracentron sinense *** poor in the understory and in open areas due to the charac-teristics of natural regeneration of the species on forest edges and in *** is unclear whether different light intensities in various habitats affect eco-physiological characteristics of saplings and their natural *** this study,the light intensity in *** habitats was simulated by artificial shading(L1:100%NS(natural sunlight)in the open;L2:50%NS in a forest gap or edge;L3:10%NS in understory)to investigate differences in morphology,leaf structure,physiology,and photosynthesis of 2-year-old sap-lings,and to analyze the mechanism of light intensity on sapling *** differences were observed in morphology(including leaf area,and specific leaf area)under different light *** to L1 and L3,chloroplast structure in L2 was *** increasing time,superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities in L2 became gradually higher than under the other light intensities,while malondialdehyde(MDA)content was *** decreased osmoregulation substance contents of leaves but increased *** results suggest that light intensities significantly affect the eco-physiological characteristics of *** saplings and they would respond most favorably at intermediate levels of light by optimizing eco-physiological ***,50%natural sunlight should be created to promote saplings establishment and population recovery of *** during in situ conservation,including sowing mature seeds in forest edges or gaps and providing appropriate shade protection for seedlings and saplings in the open.

Imide-based conjugated molecules have emerged as a highly promising class of building blocks for constructing n-type semiconducting materials with lowly.ng lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals and exceptional *** imides,such as naphthalene diimides,perylene diimides and their lateral fused analogs,have been synthesized extensively,the design and synthesis of largerπ-extended molecules incorporating more than two imide groups are desirable but still very ***,we report the synthesis of an unprecedented electron-deficient bisanthene tetraimide(ATI)containing a bisantheneconjugated core and four five-membered imide groups,which was successfully achieved via a combined approach of solution and on-surface *** chemical structures,electronic states,formation mechanism and aromaticity of ATI were systematically investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy,noncontact atomic force microscopy,scanning tunneling spectroscopy,and density functional theory calculations.

The interactions between lignin oligomers and solvents determine the behaviors of lignin oligomers self-assembling into uniform lignin nanoparticles(LNPs).Herein,several alcohol solvents,which readily interact with the lignin oligomers,were adopted to study their effects during solvent shifting process for LNPs’*** lignin oligomers with widely distributed molecular weight and abundant guaiacyl units were extracted from wood waste(mainly consists of pine wood),exerting outstanding self-assembly *** and spherical LNPs were generated in H_(2)O-n-propanol cosolvent,whereas irregular LNPs were obtained in H_(2)O-methanol *** unsatisfactory self-assembly performance of the lignin oligomers in H_(2)O-methanol cosolvent could be attributed to two *** one hand,for the initial dissolution state,the distinguishing Hansen solubility parameter and polarity between methanol solvent and lignin oligomers resulted in the poor dispersion of the lignin *** the other hand,strong hydrogen bonds between methanol solvent and lignin oligomers during solvent shifting process,hindered the interactions among the lignin oligomers for self-assembly.

An Incentive Mechanism for Federated Learning:A Continuous Zero-Determinant Strategy Approach

As a representative emerging machine learning technique, federated learning(FL) has gained considerable popularity for its special feature of “making data available but not visible”. However, potential problems remain, including privacy breaches, imbalances in payment, and inequitable *** shortcomings let devices reluctantly contribute relevant data to, or even refuse to participate in FL. Therefore, in the application of FL, an important but also challenging issue is to motivate as many participants as possible to provide high-quality data to FL. In this paper, we propose an incentive mechanism for FL based on the continuous zero-determinant(CZD) strategies from the perspective of game theory. We first model the interaction between the server and the devices during the FL process as a continuous iterative game. We then apply the CZD strategies for two players and then multiple players to optimize the social welfare of FL, for which we prove that the server can keep social welfare at a high and stable level. Subsequently, we design an incentive mechanism based on the CZD strategies to attract devices to contribute all of their high-accuracy data to ***, we perform simulations to demonstrate that our proposed CZD-based incentive mechanism can indeed generate high and stable social welfare in FL.

Remarkable Wear Resistance in a Complex Concentrated Alloy with Nanohierarchical Architecture and Composition Undulation

Sustained wear damages on the sliding surfaces of alloys are generally the culprit responsible for the failure of various mechanical *** by high-entropy effects,here we deliberately deploy nanohierarchical architecture with composition undulation in a Ni50(AlNbTiV)_(50) complex concentrated alloy,which yields ultralow wear rate within the order of 10^(−7) to 10^(−6) mm^(3)/Nm between room temperature and 800℃.Such remarkable wear resistance heretofore represents one of the highest wear resistance reported for the bulk alloys or composites,and originates from the multi-type adaptive friction interface protection governed by intrinsically nano-coupled grains and *** cooperative heterostructure releases gradient frictional stress in stages upon wear at room temperature through the coexistence of multiple deformation pathways while activating a dense nanocrystalline glaze layer upon wear at 800℃ to minimize adhesive and oxidative *** work uncovers a practical avenue for tailoring wear properties with multicomponent heterostructures over a wide temperature range.

Polyethylene oxide(PEO)-based solid-state polymer electrolytes(SPEs)are limited by their poor cyclic stability and inferior ionic conductivity for applicating in high-safety,long-cycling and high-energy-density lithium metal ***,porous boron nitride nanofibers(BNNFs)are filled into PEO-based SPE,which significantly suppresses li dendrites growth and enhances the electrochemical performance of li metal *** with high porosity have more active sites to connect with PEO,which can effectively reduce the crystallinity of the PEO matrix and enhance its ionic ***,owing to the hardness and good stability of BNNFs,BNNFs/PEO/li TFSI electrolyte exhibits a wider electrochemical window,better mechanical property and higher thermal stability compared with PEO/li TFSI ***,the li symmetric cell composed of 1%BNNFs/PEO/li TFSI performs good cyclic stability(>1800 h),and the li||1%BNNFs/PEO/li TFSI||LFP full battery shows obviously improved performances in charge-discharge polarization voltage,discharge specific capacity,rate performance and cyclic stability than the li||PEO/li TFSI||LFP battery.

Size-dependent thermomechanical vibration characteristics of rotating pre-twisted functionally graded shear deformable microbeams

A three-dimensional(3D)thermomechanical vibration model is developed for rotating pre-twisted functionally graded(FG)microbeams according to the refined shear deformation theory(RSDT)and the modified couple stress theory(MCST).The material properties are assumed to follow a power-law distribution along the chordwise *** model introduces one axial stretching variable and four transverse deflection variables including two pure bending components and two pure shear *** complex modal analysis and assumed mode methods are used to solve the governing equations of motion under different boundary conditions(BCs).Several examples are presented to verify the effectiveness of the developed *** coupling the slenderness ratio,gradient index,rotation speed,and size effect with the pre-twisted angle,the effects of these factors on the thermomechanical vibration of the microbeam with different BCs are *** is found that with the increase in the pre-twisted angle,the critical slenderness ratio and gradient index corresponding to the thermal instability of the microbeam increase,while the critical material length scale parameter(MLSP)and rotation speed *** sensitivity of the fundamental frequency to temperature increases with the increasing slenderness ratio and gradient index,and decreases with the other increasing ***,the size effect can suppress the dynamic stiffening effect and enhance the Coriolis ***,the mode transition is quantitatively demonstrated by a modal assurance criterion(MAC).
