Slope-climbing of cropland and its effects in China

In recent decades,the spatio-temporal patterns of China’s croplands have been reshaped by disturbances from anthropogenic activities,with complex changes in the topographic characteristics of ***-climbing of croplands(SCCL)is an important issue that threatens sustainable agricultural *** providing land with prominent location advantages,SCCL weakens the water and fertilizer retention capacity for cropland,intensifies various geological disasters,and adversely affects the ecological environment and food yield of these *** is crucial to determine the spatio-temporal variation features and effects of SCCL in China to formulate more accurate cropland protection policies and to maintain food security;however,the current lack of relevant studies is detrimental for capturing trends in cropland resources and sustainable cropland *** this study,we constructed a multi-scale slope spectrum for cropland and total terrain to explore the spatial differences and trends of SCCL from a three-dimensional *** evaluated the natural and socioeconomic effects of SCCL in China from multiple *** indicate that the proportion of cropland with slopes below 2°,5°,and 6°in China decreased by 0.43%,0.47%,and 0.50%from 1980 to 2020,*** became apparent during 1980-1990 and 2010-2020,especially over the recent *** cropland climbing index(CCI)and upper limited slope change(ULSC)to measure the spatio-temporal pattern of SCCL were 0.99%and 1.17°,respectively,during *** the agricultural regional scale,the SCCL was also concentrated in 1980-1990 and 2010-2020,and it is more pronounced in the southern *** proportion of provinces and prefecture-level cities with high-intensity SCCL during 1980-2020 were 87.10%and 49.73%,*** was comparatively more pronounced and broader from 2010 to *** this period,17.84%of prefecture-level cities had no SCCL,and the average CCI for all prefecture-level citi

The infection of host plants by many different viruses causes reactive oxygen species(Ros)accumulation and yellowing symptoms,but the mechanisms through which plant viruses counteract RoS-mediated immunity to facilitate infection and symptom development have not been fully *** plant viruses are transmitted by insect vectors in the field,but the molecular mechanisms underly.ng virus-host-insect interactions are *** this study,we investigated the interactions among wheat,barley yellow dwarf virus(ByDV),and its aphid vector and found that the ByDV movement protein(MP)interacts with both wheat catalases(CATs)and the 26S proteasomeubiquitin receptor non-ATPase regulatorysubunit2homolog(PSMD2)to facilitate the 26S proteasome-mediateddegradation of CATs,promotingviral infection,disease symptom development,and aphid *** of the ByDV MP gene in wheat enhanced the degradation of CATs,which leading to increased accumulation of ROS and thereby enhanced viral ***,transgenic wheat lines overexpressing ByDV MP showed significantly reduced proliferation of wingless aphids and an increased number of winged *** with this observation,silencing of CAT genes also enhanced viral accumulation and reduced the proliferation of wingless aphids but increased the occurrence of winged *** contrast,transgenic wheat plants overexpressing TaCAT1 exhibited the opposite changes and showed increases in grain size and weight upon infection with *** assays demonstrated that ByDV MP interacts with PSMD2 and promotes 26S proteasome-mediated degradation of TaCAT1 likely in a ubiquitination-independent ***,our study reveals a molecular mechanism by which a plant virus manipulates the Ros production system of host plants to facilitate viral infection and transmission,shedding new light on the sophisticated interactions among viruses,host plants,and insect vectors.

Role of inflammatory lipid and fatty acid metabolic abnormalities induced by plastic additives exposure in childhood asthma

Lipid metabolism play an essential role in occurrence and development of asthma,and it can be disturbed by phthalate esters(PAEs)and organophosphate fame retardants(OPFRs).As a chronic infammatory respiratory disease,the occurrence risk of childhood asthma is increased by PAEs and OPFRs exposure,but it remains not entirely clear how PAEs and OPFRs contribute the onset and progress of the *** have profiled the serum levels of PAEs and OPFRs congeners by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry,and its relationships with the dysregulation of lipid metabolism in asthmatic,bronchitic(acute infammation)and healthy(non-infammation)*** PAEs and nine OPFRs congeners were found in the serum of children(1–5 years old)from Shenzhen,and their total median levels were 615.16 ng/m L and 17.06 ng/m L,***,the serum levels of mono-methyl phthalate(MMP),tri-propyl phosphate(TPP)and tri-n-butyl phosphate(TNBP)were significant higher in asthmatic children than in healthy and bronchitic children as ***-one characteristic lipids and fatty acids of asthma were screened by machine-learning random forest model based on serum lipidome data,and the alterations of infammatory characteristic lipids and fatty acids including palmitic acids,12,13-Di HODE,14,21-Di HDHA,prostaglandin D2 and Lyso PA(18:2)showed significant correlated with high serum levels of MMP,TPP and *** results imply PAEs and OPFRs promote the occurrence of childhood asthma via disrupting infammatory lipid and fatty acid metabolism,and provide a novel sight for better understanding the effects of plastic additives on childhood asthma.

Prospects for Jovian seismology with the Lenghu planetary telescope

Jupiter is one of the top priorities for deep space exploration in China and other countries. The structure of Jupiter's interior, in particular, is a crucial but still unclear scientific topic. This paper discusses current scientific understanding of Jupiter's interior by summarizing the history of past and current exploration and data analysis. We review recent space-based and ground-based observation methods and analyze their feasibility. To gain new insight into the internal structure of Jupiter, we propose to study Jupiter's innards by planetary seismology. Ground-based observation, namely the Jupiter Seismologic Interferometer Polarization Imager(SIPI) in Lenghu,will be developed to obtain the Doppler velocity distribution on the surface of Jupiter and identify oscillation signals. Lenghu has observation conditions that are not only exceptional in China but even in the world, capable of providing novel insight into the interior of Jupiter. This will also be the first study in China of the interior of Jupiter using asteroseismology, which has significant implications for China's plans to explore Jupiter via spacecraft-mounted instruments.

Two-dimensional Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3)Janus magnetic semiconductor with large magnetic exchange interaction and high-T_(C)

The two-dimensional(2D)Janus monolayers are promising in spintronic device application due to their enhanced magnetic couplings and Curie *** der Waals CrCl_(3) monolayer has been experimentally proved to have an in-plane magnetic easy axis and a low Curie temperature of 17 K,which will limit its application in spintronic *** this work,we propose a new Janus monolayer Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) based on the first principles *** phonon dispersion and elastic constants confirm that Janus monolayer Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) is dynamically and mechanically *** Monte Carlo simulation results based on magnetic exchange constants reveal that Janus monolayer Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) is an intrinsic ferromagnetic semiconductor with TC of 180 K,which is much higher than that of CrCl_(3) due to the enhanced ferromagnetic coupling caused by S ***,the magnetic easy axis of Janus Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) can be tuned to the perpendicular direction with a large magnetic anisotropy energy(MAE)of 142eV/***,the effect of biaxial strain on the magnetic property of Janus monolayer Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) is *** is found that the Curie temperature is more robust under tensile *** work indicates that the Janus monolayer Cr_(2)Cl_(3)S_(3) presents increased Curie temperature and out-of-plane magnetic easy axis,suggesting greater application potential in 2D spintronic devices.

Artificial neural network-based method for discriminating Compton scattering events in high-purity germaniumγ-ray spectrometer

To detect radioactive substances with low activity levels,an anticoincidence detector and a high-purity germanium(HPGe)detector are typically used simultaneously to suppress Compton scattering background,thereby resulting in an extremely low detection limit and improving the measurement ***,the complex and expensive hardware required does not facilitate the application or promotion of this ***,a method is proposed in this study to discriminate the digital waveform of pulse signals output using an HPGe detector,whereby Compton scattering background is suppressed and a low minimum detectable activity(MDA)is achieved without using an expensive and complex anticoincidence detector and *** electric-field-strength and energy-deposition distributions of the detector are simulated to determine the relationship between pulse shape and energy-deposition location,as well as the characteristics of energy-deposition distributions for fulland partial-energy deposition *** relationship is used to develop a pulse-shape-discrimination algorithm based on an artificial neural network for pulse-feature *** accurately determine the relationship between the deposited energy of gamma(γ)rays in the detector and the deposition location,we extract four shape parameters from the pulse signals output by the *** learning is used to input the four shape parameters into the ***,the pulse signals are identified and classified to discriminate between partial-and full-energy deposition *** partial-energy deposition events are removed to suppress Compton *** proposed method effectively decreases the MDA of an HPGeγ-energy dispersive *** results show that the Compton suppression factors for energy spectra obtained from measurements on ^(152)Eu,^(137)Cs,and ^(60)Co radioactive sources are 1.13(344 keV),1.11(662 keV),and 1.08(1332 keV),respectively,and that the corresponding MDAs are 1.4%,5.

Paleozoic Multi-Stage Magmatic Events Related to Proto-Tethys and Paleo-Tethys Evolution:Insights from Intrusive Rocks in the Eastern Altyn Orogen,NW China

Abundant mafic-felsic intrusions distributed in the Altyn Orogen record orogenic histories related to Proto-Tethys and Paleo-Tethys *** U-Pb dating of the intrusive rocks in the eastern Altyn Orogen identifies at least three major tectono-magmatic episodes,yielding ages of∼426,∼376–373 and∼269–254 *** first two emplacement episodes correspond to the post-collisional magmatism in the Altyn ***∼426 Ma granitoids possess adakitic characteristics coupled with enriched isotopes,suggesting that they originated from partial melting of thickened lower continental crust induced by upwelling asthenospheric mantle after slab break-off of the South Altyn Ocean ***,the∼376–373 Ma mafic-intermediate rocks and coeval granitoids represent a large thermal event that involved mantle melting with induced new juvenile lower continental crust melting in a post-collisional extensional ***,the∼254 Ma diabase dykes intruded into the∼269 Ma granitoids,which were related to the widespread Late Paleozoic magmatism resulting from Paleo-Tethys Ocean ***-collisional magmatism in the Altyn Orogen significantly enhances understanding of the tectono-magmatic evolution in the northern Tibetan *** penetrative influence of Paleo-Tethys Ocean subduction was more extensive than previously thought.

Bioceramic scaffolds with two-step internal/external modification of copper-containing polydopamine enhance antibacterial and alveolar bone regeneration capability

Magnesium-doped calcium silicate(CS)bioceramic scaffolds have unique advantages in mandibular defect repair;however,they lack antibacterial properties to cope with the complex oral ***,for the first time,the CS scaffold was functionally modified with a novel copper-containing polydopamine(PDA(Cu^(2+)))rapid deposition method,to construct internally modified(*P),externally modified(@PDA),and dually modified(*P@PDA)*** morphology,degradation behavior,and mechanical properties of the obtained scaffolds were evaluated in *** results showed that the CS*P@PDA had a unique micro-/nano-structural surface and appreciable mechanical *** the prolonged immersion stage,the release of copper ions from the CS*P@PDA scaffolds was rapid in the early stage and exhibited long-term sustained *** in vitro evaluation revealed that the release behavior of copper ions ascribed an excellent antibacterial effect to the CS*P@PDA,while the scaffolds retained good cytocompatibility with improved osteogenesis and angiogenesis ***,the PDA(Cu^(2+))-modified scaffolds showed effective early bone regeneration in a critical-size rabbit mandibular defect ***,it was indicated that considerable antibacterial property along with the enhancement of alveolar bone regeneration can be imparted to the scaffold by the two-step PDA(Cu^(2+))modification,and the convenience and wide applicability of this technique make it a promising strategy to avoid bacterial infections on implants.
