Backg.ound: Exercise procrastination is prevalent among colleg. students, causing decline in physical fitness. It is imperative to investig.te the mechanism affecting colleg. students’ physical activity behaviors. This study was aimed at investig.ting the effect of procrastination on colleg. students’ physical exercise behavior, and the chain mediation effects of exercise commitment and action control (AC), to provide a theoretical basis for interventions targ.ting physical exercise behavior among colleg. students. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted using convenience sampling. The g.neral Procrastination Scale, Exercise Commitment Scale, Action Control Scale, and Physical Activity Rating Scale-3 questionnaires were used. Participants were 581 colleg. students (ag. 19.27 ± 0.94 years; 243 males and 338 females). Statistical methods of reg.ession analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) were applied. Results: Procrastination, exercise commitment, and action control were found to be sig.ificant predictors of physical exercise behavior. Among these predictors, exercise commitment and action control showed full mediation effects in the relationship between procrastination and physical exercise behavior, and explained 25.48% and 30.77% of the total variance, respectively. The chain mediation effect of exercise commitment-action control was sig.ificant, accounting for 22.60% of the total variance, and the total indirect effect was 79.33%. Conclusion: Therefore, hig.er procrastination was associated with less participation in physical exercise behavior among colleg. students. Improvements in exercise commitment and volitional decision-making ability for physical exercise behavior promoted physical exercise behavior, and increased exercise commitment promoted volitional decision-making ability among the students. Backg.ound: g.ven the heig.tened risk of developmental challenges associated with preterm birth, it is crucial to explore interventions that may ameliorate potential adverse outcomes. This study aimed to examine whether meeting the 24-h movement behavior (24-HMB) g.idelines, which include recommendations on physical activity (PA), screen time (ST), and sleep (SL), is related to indicators of cog.itive difficulties, internaliz.ng problems (e.g., depression and anxiety), and externaliz.ng problems (e.g., difficulties in making friends and arg.ing) in a sample of preterm youth (children and adolescents born preterm). Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data from 3410 preterm youth (ag.d 6 to 17 years) were included for data analyses. Multivariable log.stic reg.ession was used to investig.te associations between meeting the 24-HMB g.idelines and the above-mentioned health outcomes, while controlling for sociodemog.aphic and health-related factors. Results: The prevalence of meeting 24-HMB g.idelines varied across independent and integ.ated components of the 24-HMB g.idelines. Meeting the ST g.ideline alone (p g.ated g.idelines (i.e., ST + SL and ST + SL + PA) were associated with fewer cog.itive difficulties and reduced internaliz.ng and externaliz.ng problems (p y, meeting the SL g.ideline alone and integ.ated g.idelines (i.e., SL + ST) were associated with lower odds of depression and anxiety (p y, meeting independent, and integ.ated (PA and/or ST) g.idelines were associated with less pronounced difficulties in making friends and arg.ing (p ng 24-HMB g.idelines in an isolated and integ.ated manner are linked to better cog.itive performance and fewer internaliz.ng and externaliz.ng problems in preterm youth. Coal-fired power plants are a major carbon source in China. In order to assess the evaluation of China’s carbon reduction prog.ess with the promise made on the Paris Ag.eement, it is crucial to monitor the carbon flux intensity from coal-fired power plants. Previous studies have calculated CO2 emissions from point sources based on Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 and -3 (OCO-2 and OCO-3) satellite measurements, but the factors affecting CO2 flux estimations are uncertain. In this study, we employ a g.ussian Plume Model to estimate CO2 emissions from three power plants in China based on OCO-3 XCO2 measurements. Moreover, flux uncertainties resulting from wind information, backg.ound values, satellite CO2 measurements, and atmospheric stability are discussed. This study hig.lig.ts the CO2 flux uncertainty derived from the satellite measurements. Finally, satellite-based CO2 emission estimates are compared to bottom-up inventories. The satellite-based CO2 emission estimates at the Tuoketuo and Nongliushi power plants are ∼30 and ∼10 kt d−1 smaller than the Open-Data Inventory for Anthropog.nic Carbon dioxide (ODIAC) respectively, but ∼10 kt d−1 larg.r than the ODIAC at Baotou. © Institute of Atmospheric Physics/Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Science Press 2024.

Soil saliniz.tion is a g.obally prevalent abiotic environmental stress. The imbalance of ions caused by hig. concentrations of sodium chloride results in a 40% reduction in soybean yield. Soybean, as an important crop for soil quality improvement, necessitates the identification of salt-tolerant varieties and g.rmplasms to effectively utiliz. and enhance saline-alkali land. In this study, we assessed the salt tolerance of 435 soybean varieties and g.rmplasms during the seedling stag.. Among them, Qihuang34, you2104, Hongz.udou, Pamanheidou, and Osag. exhibited g.ade 1 salt tolerance rates surpassing other tested materials. Furthermore, Hongz.udou and Qihuang34 demonstrated hig.er salt tolerance during g.rmination and emerg.nce stag.s based on their elevated rates of emerg.nce, salt tolerance index, chlorophyll content, and shoot fresh weig.ts. Overall findings provide valuable resources for molecular breeding efforts aimed at developing salt-tolerant soybean varieties suitable for cultivation in saline-alkali soils. © 2024 the Oil Crop Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Ag.iculture Sciences

This study aims to predict the undrained shear strength of remolded soil samples using non-linear reg.ession analyses,fuz.y log.c,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear strength results from 230 different remolded soil test settings reported in 21 publications were collected,utiliz.ng six different measurement *** water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuz.y log.c and artificial neural network modeling,liquidity index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear reg.ession *** non-linear reg.ession analyses,12 different reg.ession equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear strength of remolded ***-Forward backpropag.tion and the TANSIg.transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling,while the Mamdani inference system was preferred with trapez.idal and triangular membership functions for fuz.y log.c *** experimental results of 914 tests were used for training of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for *** was observed that the accuracy of the artificial neural network and fuz.y log.c modeling was hig.er than that of the non-linear reg.ession ***,a simple and reliable reg.ession equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear strength values with hig.er coefficients of determination.

Localiz.d juvenile spongiotic g.ngival hyperplasia (LJSg.) is a kind of g.ngival hyperplasia with unique patholog.cal manifestations. Its clinical manifestations are atypical, and the etiolog. and pathog.nesis are unclear. No case report was reported in China. The diag.osis of this disease mainly relies on patholog.cal testing, and recurrence may occur after treatment. The best treatment method still lacks medical evidence. This paper reports a case of LJSg. in a teenag.r and summariz.s its clinical, patholog.cal, and treatment throug. literature review.
