To develop porous organic frameworks,precise control of the stacking manner of two-dimensional porous motifs and structural characterization of the resultant framework are *** these points of view,porous molecular crystals formed through reversible intermolecular hydrogen bonds,such as;hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks(HOFs),can provide deep insight because of their high crystallinity,affording single-crystalline X-ray diffraction *** this study,we demonstrate that the stacking manner of hydrogen-bonded hexagonal network(HexNet)sheets can be controlled by synchronizing a homological triangular macrocyclic tecton and a hydrogen-bonded cyclic supramolecular synthon called the phenylene triangle.A structure of the resultant HOF was crystallographically characterized and revealed to have a large channel aperture of 2.4 *** HOF also shows thermal stability up to 290°C,which is higher than that of the conventional HexNet frameworks.

Stable water isotopes are natural tracers quantifying the contribution of moisture recycling to local precipitation,i.e.,the moisture recycling ratio,but various isotope-based models usually lead to different results,which affects the accuracy of local moisture *** this study,a total of 18 stations from four typical areas in China were selected to compare the performance of isotope-based linear and Bayesian mixing models and to determine local moisture recycling *** the three vapor sources including advection,transpiration,and surface evaporation,the advection vapor usually played a dominant role,and the contribution of surface evaporation was less than that of *** the abnormal values were ignored,the arithmetic averages of differences between isotope-based linear and the Bayesian mixing models were 0.9%for transpiration,0.2%for surface evaporation,and–1.1%for advection,respectively,and the medians were 0.5%,0.2%,and–0.8%,*** importance of transpiration was slightly less for most cases when the Bayesian mixing model was applied,and the contribution of advection was relatively *** Bayesian mixing model was found to perform better in determining an efficient solution since linear model sometimes resulted in negative contribution *** test with two isotope scenarios indicated that the Bayesian model had a relatively low sensitivity to the changes in isotope input,and it was important to accurately estimate the isotopes in precipitation ***,the Bayesian mixing model should be recommended instead of a linear *** findings are useful for understanding the performance of isotope-based linear and Bayesian mixing models under various climate backgrounds.

Macrophages are one of the most abundant leukocyte populations infiltrating tumor tissues and can exhibit both tumoricidal and tumor-promoting *** 1989,we reported the purification of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)from culture supernatants of mitogen-activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and tumor ***-1 is a potent monocyte-attracting chemokine,identical to the previously described lymphocyte-derived chemotactic factor or tumor-derived chemotactic factor,and greatly contributes to the recruitment of blood monocytes into sites of inflammatory responses and *** in vitro-cultured tumor cells often produce significant amounts of MCP-1,tumor cells are considered to be the main source of ***,various nontumor cells in the tumor stroma also produce MCP-1 in response to *** performed in vitro and in vivo have provided evidence that MCP-1 production in tumors is a consequence of complex interactions between tumor cells and non-tumor cells and that both tumor cells and non-tumor cells contribute to the production of *** MCP-1 production was once considered to be a part of host defense against tumors,it is now believed to regulate the vicious cycle between tumor cells and macrophages that promotes the progression of tumors.

Nutritional Evaluation by Nurses and Physical Recovery of Malnourished Patients after Esophagectomy

Following an esophagectomy, nurses’ patient nutrition observations are important for physical recovery and quality of life. The study proposed to identify the factors associated with physical recovery among esophageal cancer patients after surgery based on nurses’ observations and nutritional evaluations. Data were collected from the nursing records of 21 esophagectomy patients. The data included patients’ rate of weight loss, body mass index (BMI), energy intake, and postoperative complications. Patients were divided into two groups according to their weight loss rate: y between the two groups. There was no difference in albumin levels during hospitalization;however, after esophagectomy, energy intake at discharge was insufficient in both groups. The ≥8% weight loss may be facilitated, or at least confounded, by the presence of recurrent nerve paralysis and aspiration pneumonia. Thus, the nursing records typically identified the need to check for recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and aspiration pneumonia in conjunction with nutritional assessment to enhance patients’ physical recovery. When weight loss was significant, nurses provided oral intake support with the NST, and patients maintained oral intake levels similar to the group with weight loss under 8%. In order to better support physical recovery among malnourished, post esophagectomy patients, nurses need to monitor for signs of recurrent nerve palsy and aspiration pneumonia in addition to nutritional intake.

The surface topography of a material can influence osteoclast ***,the surface structural factors that promote osteoclast activity have not yet been investigated in ***,we investigated osteoclastogenesis by testing various defined patterns with different dimensions and *** systematic patterns,made of a cyclo-olefin polymer,were prepared at a micron-,submicron-,and nano-scale with a groove,hole,or pillar shape with a 1:1 pitch ***264.7 cells were cultured on these patterns in the presence of the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand(RANKL).Osteoclast formation was induced in the order:pillar>groove≥*** two-dimensional factors also indicated that submicron-sized patterns strongly induced osteoclast *** optimal pillar dimension for osteoclast formation was 500 nm in diameter and 2μm in ***,we observed two types of characteristic actin structure,i.e.,belt-like structures with small hollow circles and isolated ring-like structures,which formed on or around the pillars depending on size and ***,resorption pits were observed mainly on the top of calcium phosphate-coated ***,osteoclasts prefer convex shapes,such as pillars for differentiation and *** results indicate that osteoclastogenesis can be controlled by designing surfaces with specific morphologies.
