Facet-dependent transformation and toxicity of nanoscale zinc oxide in the synthetic saliva

The nanoscale zinc oxide(n-ZnO)was used in food packages due to its superior antibac terial activity,resulting in potential intake of n-ZnO through the digestive system,wherein n-ZnO interacted with *** recent,facet engineering,a technique for controll.ng the exposed facets,was applied to n-ZnO,whereas risk of n-ZnO with specific exposed facets in saliva was *** nanoflakes(ZnO-0001)and nanoneedles(ZnO-1010)with the pri mary exposed facets of{0001}and{1010}respectively were prepared in this study,investigat ing stability and toxicity of ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 in synthetic *** ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 partially transformed into amorphous Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)within 1 hr in the saliva even containing orgnaic components,forming a ZnO-Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)core-shell *** less,ZnO-1010 relative to ZnO-0001 would likely transform into Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2),being attributed to superior dissolution of{1010}facet due to its lower vacancy formation energy(1.15 eV than{0001}facet(3.90 eV)).The toxicity of n-ZnO to Caco-2 cells was also dependent on the primary exposed facet;ZnO-0001 caused cell toxicity through oxidative stress,whereas ZnO-1010 resulted in lower cells viability than ZnO-0001 through oxidative stress and mem brane *** functional theory calculations illustrated that·O_(2)^(-)was formed and released on{1010}facet,yet O_(2)^(2-)instead of·O_(2)^(-)was generated on{0001}facet,leading to low oxidative stress from *** findings demonstrated that stability and toxicity of n-ZnO were dependent on the primary exposed facet,improving our understanding o health risk of nanomaterials.

The morphology,size,quantity,and composition of complex oxide+carbonitride in H13 steel held at 1250℃for 5,10,and 15 h were *** results show that the ratio and number of complex carbonitrides with cores in H13 steel are gradually increased when holding at 1250℃compared with those in the original H13 steel,and the core size *** are one or more oxide cores in(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,n_(1-y)),including xCaO·zAl_(2)O_(3),xCaO·yMgO·zAl_(2)O_(3),and CaO after holding at 1250℃,in addition to MgO·Al_(2)O_(3)and Al_(2)O_(3)in the original *** equilibrium temperature for(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,n_(1-y))precipitation at the solidification front and decomposition in the solid state was theoretically analyzed,which was affected by the x value and the product of Ti and n contents in H13 ***,the composition of(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,n_(1-y))is influenced by the oxide *** is convinced that(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,n_(1-y))with oxide cores has a higher stability,especially for oxides with a high Al_(2)O_(3)*** treatment at high temperature facilitates a more reasonable analysis of oxide+carbonitride,and the generation mechanism of oxide+carbonitride was discussed.

Bi_(2)Se_(3)-based flexible thin film with high thermoelectric performance is promising for the waste heat recovery *** this work,a novel post-sel.nization method is employed to prepare n-type Bi_(2)Se_(3)flexible thin films with highly textured *** strengthened texture and Se vacancy optimization can be simultaneously achieved by optimizing the sel.nization *** highly oriented texture leads to the increased carrier mobility and results in a high electric conductivity of~290.47 S·cm^(-1)at 623 ***,a high Seebeck coefficient(>110μW·K-1)is obtained due to the reduced carrier concentration,induced by optimizing vacancy ***,a high power factor of 3.49μW·cm^(-1)·K^(-2)at 623 K has been achieved in asprepared highly-bendable Bi_(2)Se_(3)flexible thin films sel.nized at 783 *** study introduces an effective post-sel.nization method to tune the texture structure and vacancies of Bi_(2)Se_(3)flexible thin films,and correspondingly achieves high thermoelectric performance.

Hot Deformation Behavior and Workability of a new ni–W–Cr Superalloy for Molten Salt Reactors

The hot deformation behavior of a newly developed ni–W–Cr superalloy for use in 800℃molten salt reactors(MSRs)was looked into by isothermal compression tests in the temperature range of 1050–1200℃with a strain rate of 0.001–1 s^(−1)under a true strain of *** Arrhenius-type model for the ni–W–Cr superalloy was constructed by fitting the corrected flow stress *** this model,the effect of dispersion of solid solution elements during thermal deformation on microstructure evolution was considered,as well as the effects of friction and adiabatic heating on the temperature and strain rate-dependent variation of flow *** hot deformation activation energy of the ni–W–Cr superalloy was 323 kJ/mol,which was less than that of the Hastelloy n alloy(currently used in MSRs).According to the rectified flow stress data,processing maps were *** conjunction with the corresponding deformation microstructures,the flow instability domains of the ni–W–Cr superalloy were determined to be 1050–1160℃/0.03–1 s^(−1)and 1170–1200℃/0.001–0.09 s^(−1).In these deformation conditions,a locally inhomogeneous microstructure was caused by flow-i.e.,incomplete dynamic recrystallization and hot working parameters should avoid sliding into these *** ideal processing hot deformation domain for the ni–W–Cr superalloy was determined to be 1170–1200℃/0.6–1 s^(−1).

With continuous hydrocarbon exploration extending to deeper basins,the deepest industrial oil accumulation was discovered below 8,200 m,reveal.ng a new exploration ***,the extent to which oil exploration can be extended,and the prediction of the depth limit of oil accumulation(DlOA),are issues that have attracted significant attention in petroleum *** it is difficult to characterize the evolution of the physical properties of the marine carbonate reservoir with burial depth,and the deepest drill.ng still cannot reach the ***,the DlOA cannot be predicted by directly establishing the relationship between the ratio of drill.ng to the dry layer and the *** this study,by establishing the relationships between the porosity and the depth and dry layer ratio of the carbonate reservoir,the relationships between the depth and dry layer ratio were obtained *** depth corresponding to a dry layer ratio of 100%is the *** on this,a quantitative prediction model for the DlOA was finally *** results indicate that the porosity of the carbonate reservoir,lower Ordovician in Tazhong area of Tarim Basin,tends to decrease with burial depth,and manifests as an overall low porosity reservoir in deep *** critical porosity of the DlOA was 1.8%,which is the critical geological condition corresponding to a 100%dry layer ratio encountered in the *** depth of the DlOA was 9,000 *** study provides a new method for DlOA prediction that is beneficial for a deeper understanding of oil accumulation,and is of great importance for scientific guidance on deep oil drill.ng.

low Surface Brightness Galaxies Selected by Different Model Fitting

We present a study of low surface brightness galaxies(lSBGs) selected by fitting the images for all the galaxies inα.40 SDSS DR7 sample with two kinds of single-component models and two kinds of two-component models(disk+bulge):single exponential,single sersic,exponential+deVaucular(exp+deV),and exponential+sérsic(exp+ser).Under the criteria of the B band disk central surface brightness μ_(0,disk)(B)≥22.5 mag arcsec^(-2) and the axis ratio b/a> 0.3,we selected four none-edge-on lSBG samples from each of the models which contain 1105,1038,207,and 75 galaxies,*** are 756 galaxies in common between lSBGs selected by exponential and sersic models,corresponding to 68.42% of lSBGs selected by the exponential model and 72.83% of lSBGs selected by the sersic model,the rest of the discrepancy is due to the difference in obtaining μ_(0) between the exponential and sersic *** on the fitting,in the range of 0.5≤n≤1.5,the relation of μ_(0) from two models can be written as μ_(0,sérsic)-μ_(0,exp)=-1.34(n-1).The lSBGs selected by disk+bulge models(lSBG_(2)comps) are more massive than lSBGs selected by single-component models(lSBG_1comp),and also show a larger disk *** the bulges in the majority of our lSBG_(2)comps are not prominent,more than 60% of our lSBG_(2)comps will.not be selected if we adopt a single-component model *** also identified 31 giant low surface brightness galaxies(glSBGs) from lSBG_(2)*** are located at the same region in the color-magnitude diagram as other *** we compared different criteria of glSBGs selection,we find that for gas-rich lSBGs,M_(*)> 10^(10)M_⊙ is the best to distinguish between glSBGs and normal lSBGs with bulge.

In recent years,multicolor cascade supramolecular assemblies with controllable topological morphology have become a research hotspot due to their wide application in light-emitting materials,cell imaging and other ***,several kinds of macrocycles including cucurbiturils,calixarene and cyclodextrins are used as building blocks to construct fluorescent assemblies with anthryl-conjugated phenylpyridine（G）,wherein cucurbit[8]uril （CB[8]） and G can form nanowires at a stoichiometric ratio of n:n through host-guest encapsulation to form a non-coval.nt ***,the macrocycle confinement effect drastically enhances the fluorescence emission of G and emission peak generated bathochromic shift from 500 nm to 600 *** the supramolecular polymer is further assembled with amphiphilic calix[4]arene （SC4A8）,the fluorescence emission of G?CB[8]further increases to 1.4 times,accompanied by the morphological transformation from l.near structure to nanorod ***,a very small amount of dye Cy5 is added to the assembly solution as an energy receptor,and the negatively charged G?CB[8]@SC4A8 system is regarded as an energy *** efficient energy transfer process enables near-infrared （nIR） emission at 675 nm with 71%energy transfer efficiency (ΦET) at a donor/receptor ratio of 100:***,the cascade supramolecular assembly has been successfully applied to targeted imaging in the nucleus of Hela and A549 cancer cells.
