The vagus nerve(VN)plays an important role in regulating physiological conditions in the gastrointestinal(GI)tract by communicating via the parasympathetic pathway to the enteric nervous system(ENs).However,the lack of knowledge in the neurophysiology of the VN and GI tract limits the development of advanced treatments for autonomic dysfunctions related to the *** better understand the complicated underlying mechanisms of the VN-GI tract neurophysiology,it is necessary to use an advanced device enabled by microfabrication *** several candidates including intraneural probe array and extraneural cuff electrodes,microchannel electrode array devices can be used to interface with smaller numbers of nerve fibers by securing them in the separate channel *** microchannel electrode array devices to interface teased nerve structures are relatively bulky with thickness around 200µ*** thick design can potentially harm the delicate tissue structures,including the nerve *** this paper,we present a flexible thin film based microchannel electrode array device(thickness:11.5µm)that can interface with one of the subdiaphragmatic nerve branches of the VN in a *** demonstrated recording evoked compound action potentials(ECAP)from a transected nerve ending that has multiple nerve ***,our analysis confirmed that the signals are from C-fibers that are critical in regulating autonomic neurophysiology in the GI tract.

Laparoscopic hepatectomy for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been shown to have superior short-term and comparable long-term outcomes compared with open hepatectomy in experienced centres(1).short-term advantages include small incisions,reduced post-operative pain,faster recovery,reduced blood loss and lower risk of complications(2).However,the loss of tactile sensation makes it challenging to accurately locate lesions and define tumour margins.

Rescattering of stimulated Raman side scattering(sRss)is observed for the first time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(PIC)*** construct a theoretical model for the rescattering process,which can predict the region of occurrence of mth-order sRss and estimate its *** rescattering process is identified by the 2D PIC simulations under typical conditions of a direct-drive inertial confinement fusion *** electrons produced by second-order sRss propagate nearly perpendicular to the density gradient and gain nearly the same energy as in first-order sRss,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies for a wide range of ignition conditions show that sRss and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial confinement fusion.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

We examine electron kinetic effects in broadband-laser-driven back-stimulated Raman scattering(BsRs)bursts using particle-in-cell *** bursts occur during the nonlinear stage,causing reflectivity spikes and generating large numbers of hot ***-duration simulations are performed to observe burst events,and a simplified model is developed to eliminate the interference of the broadband laser’s random intensity *** the simplified model,we isolate and characterize the spectrum of electron plasma *** spectrum changes from a sideband structure to a turbulence-like structure during the burst.A significant asymmetry in the spectrum is *** asymmetry is amplified and transferred to electron phase space by high-intensity broadband laser pulses,leading to violent vortex-merging and generation of hot *** proportion of hot electrons increases from 6.76%to 14.7%during a single violent burst *** demonstrate that kinetic effects profoundly influence the BsRs evolution driven by broadband lasers.

A decomposition of light’s spin angular momentum density

Light carries intrinsic spin angular momentum(sAM)when the electric or magnetic field vector rotates over time.A familiar vector equation calculates the direction of light’s sAM density using the right-hand rule with reference to the electric and magnetic polarisation *** Maxwell’s equations,this vector equation can be decomposed into a sum of two distinct terms,akin to the well-known Poynting vector decomposition into orbital and spin *** present the first general study of this spin decomposition,showing that the two terms,which we call canonical and Poynting spin,are chiral analogies to the canonical and spin momenta of light in its interaction with *** canonical momentum,canonical spin is directly *** canonical and Poynting spin incorporate spatial variation of the electric and magnetic fields and are influenced by optical *** decomposition allows us to show that a linearly polarised vortex beam,which has no total sAM,can nevertheless exert longitudinal chiral pressure due to equal and opposite canonical and Poynting spins.

EsR2–HDA6 complex negatively regulates auxin biosynthesis to delay callus initiation in Arabidopsis leaf explants during tissue culture

Plants exhibit an astonishing ability to regulate organ regeneration upon *** of leaf explants promotes the biosynthesis of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA),which is polar-transported to excised regions,where cell fate transition leads to root founder cell specification to induce de novo root *** regeneration capacity of plants has been utilized to develop in vitro tissue culture ***,we report that IAA accumulation near the wounded site of leaf explants is essential for callus formation on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D)-rich callus-inducing medium(CIM).Notably,a high concentration of 2,4-D does not compensate for the action of IAA because of its limited efflux;rather,it lowers IAA biosynthesis via a negative feedback mechanism at an early stage of in vitro tissue culture,delaying callus *** auxin negative feedback loop in CIM-cultured leaf explants is mediated by an auxin-inducible APETALA2 transcription factor,ENHANCER OF sHOOT REGENERATION 2(EsR2),along with its interacting partner HIsTONE DEACETyLAsE 6(HDA6).The EsR2–HDA6 complex binds directly to,and removes the H3ac mark from,the yUCCA1(yUC1),yUC7,and yUC9 loci,consequently repressing auxin biosynthesis and inhibiting cell fate transition on 2,4-D-rich *** findings indicate that negative feedback regulation of auxin biosynthesis by EsR2 and HDA6 interferes with proper cell fate transition and callus initiation.

An Efficient Long short-TermMemory and Gated Recurrent Unit Based smart Vessel Trajectory Prediction Using Automatic Identification system Data

Maritime transportation, a cornerstone of global trade, faces increasing safety challenges due to growing sea traffic volumes. This study proposes a novel approach to vessel trajectory prediction utilizing Automatic Identification system (AIs) data and advanced deep learning models, including Long short-Term Memory (LsTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Bidirectional LsTM (DBLsTM), simple Recurrent Neural Network (simpleRNN), and Kalman Filtering. The research implemented rigorous AIs data preprocessing, encompassing record deduplication, noise elimination, stationary simplification, and removal of insignificant trajectories. Models were trained using key navigational parameters: latitude, longitude, speed, and heading. spatiotemporal aware processing through trajectory segmentation and topological data analysis (TDA)was employed to capture dynamic *** using a three-month AIs dataset demonstrated significant improvements in prediction accuracy. The GRU model exhibited superior performance, achieving training losses of 0.0020 (Mean squared Error, MsE) and 0.0334 (Mean Absolute Error, MAE), with validation losses of 0.0708 (MsE) and 0.1720 (MAE). The LsTM model showed comparable efficacy, with training losses of 0.0011 (MsE) and 0.0258 (MAE), and validation losses of 0.2290 (MsE) and 0.2652 (MAE). Both models demonstrated reductions in training and validation losses, measured by MAE, MsE, Average Displacement Error (ADE), and Final Displacement Error (FDE). This research underscores the potential of advanced deep learning models in enhancing maritime safety through more accurate trajectory predictions, contributing significantly to the development of robust, intelligent navigation systems for the maritime industry. © 2024 The Authors.
