Hippocampal neuronal loss causes cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer’s *** hippocampal neurogenesis is reduced in patients with Alzheimer’s *** stimulates adult hippocampal neurogenesis in rodents and improves memory and slows cognitive decline in patients with Alzheimer’s ***,the molecular pathways for exercise-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis and improved cognition in Alzheimer’s disease are poorly ***,regulator of G protein signaling 6(RGs6)was identified as the mediator of voluntary running-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis in ***,we generated novel RGs6fl/fl;APP_(sWE) mice and used retroviral approaches to examine the impact of RGs6 deletion from dentate gyrus neuronal progenitor cells on voluntary running-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis and cognition in an amyloid-based Alzheimer’s disease mouse *** found that voluntary running in APP_(sWE) mice restored their hippocampal cognitive impairments to that of control *** cognitive rescue was abolished by RGs6 deletion in dentate gyrus neuronal progenitor cells,which also abolished running-mediated increases in adult hippocampal *** hippocampal neurogenesis was reduced in sedentary APP_(sWE) mice versus control mice,with basal adult hippocampal neurogenesis reduced by RGs6 deletion in dentate gyrus neural precursor ***6 was expressed in neurons within the dentate gyrus of patients with Alzheimer’s disease with significant loss of these RGs6-expressing ***,RGs6 mediated voluntary running-induced rescue of impaired cognition and adult hippocampal neurogenesis in APP_(sWE) mice,identifying RGs6 in dentate gyrus neural precursor cells as a possible therapeutic target in Alzheimer’s disease.

The effects of roughness geometries and relative roughness height at the slip flow regime to investigate the thermal and hydraulic performances of microchannel have been considered in the present article using a thermal Lattice Boltzmann Method(TLBM).A two dimensional 9-bit(D2Q9)single relaxation time(sRT)model is used to simulate this *** micro-flows,the local density variation is still relatively.s.all,but the total density changes,therefore,in order to account this density variation and its effect on the kinematic viscosityν,a new relaxation time proposed by Niu et al.[13]is *** roughness geometry is modeled as a series of square and circular riblets with a relative roughness height from 0%to 10%of the channel *** friction coefficients in terms of Poiseuille number(Pn)and the dimensionless heat transfer rate in terms of Nusselt number(Nu)have been discussed in order to analyze the roughness *** thermal-hydraulic performance(η)is calculated considering the simultaneous effects of thermal and fluid friction(pressure drop)at the slip flow regime at Knudsen number,Kn,ranging from 0.01 to 0.10 with other controlling parameters for both kind of *** results have been compared with previous published works and it is found to be in very good agreement.

Background Administrative data are frequently used in stroke *** accurate identification of patients who had an ischaemic stroke,and those receiving thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy(EVT)is critical to ensure representativeness and *** examined differences in patient samples based on mode of identification,and propose a strategy for future patient and procedure identification in large administrative *** We used non-public administrative data from the state of California to identify all patients who had an ischaemic stroke discharged from an emergency department(ED)or inpatient hospitalisation from 2010 to 2017 based on International Classification of Disease(ICD-9)(2010-2015),ICD-10(2015-2017)and Medicare severity-Diagnosis-related Group(Ms-DRG)discharge *** identified patients with interhospital transfers,patients receiving thrombolytics and patients treated with EVT based on ICD,Current Procedural Terminology(CPT)and Ms-DRG *** determined what proportion of these transfers and procedures would have been identified with ICD versus Ms-DRG discharge *** Of 365099 ischaemic stroke encounters,most(87.70%)had both a stroke-related ICD-9 or ICD-10 code and stroke-related Ms-DRG code;12.28% had only an ICD-9 or ICD-10 code and 0.02% had only an Ms-DRG *** all transfers(99.99%)were identified using ICD *** identified 32433 thrombolytic-treated patients(8.9% of total)using ICD,CPT and Ms-DRG codes;the combination of ICD and CPT codes identified nearly all(98%).We identified 7691 patients treated with EVT(2.1%of total)using ICD and Ms-DRG codes;both Ms-DRG and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes were necessary because ICD codes alone missed 13.2%of *** codes only pertain to outpatient/ED patients and are not useful for EVT *** ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis codes capture nearly all ischaemic stroke encounters and transfers,while the combination of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes are adequate

Flexible Zn-based batteries have attracted increasing research interest as essential components of wearable energy.s.orage ***,the advancement of flexible aqueous Zn-based batteries based on Co-Ni layered double hydroxide （CoNi-LDH） as the cathode material is hampered by their poor cycling stability and the corrosiveness of alkaline ***,CoNi-LDH nanosheets enriched with H vacancies (CoNi-LDH（v）) were constructed on a flexible carbon cloth （CC） substrate via electrochemical deposition and *** Zn-based battery comprising CoNi-LDH（v）@CC as the cathode exhibited highly reversible conversion reactions and stable operation in 3 M ZnsO4electrolyte （pH=4）.The battery delivered an excellent specific capacity (225 mA h g-1,0.26 mA h cm-2),acceptable cycling stability（53.9%,900 cycles）,and high discharging *** abundant H vacancies served as active sites for the reversible intercalation of Zn2+and the extravasation of NO3-generated channels and space for Zn2+transport and storage,together enabling an excellent Zn2+storage ***,a sandwich-structured solid-state CoNi-LDH（v）@CC//Zn@CC battery was fabricated and was found to exhibit a noteworthy electrochemical performance and mechanical *** a proof of concept,the unencapsulated battery powered a digital watch under various deformation conditions and operated stably for 80 ***,the flexible battery displayed outstanding customizability,maintaining an open-circuit voltage of 1.42 V even after being cut *** proposed engineering strategy contributes to the realization of textiles with truly wearable energy.s.orage devices.

We demonstrate the transmission of directly modulated 10-Gb/s WDM signals over 320 km of negative dispersion fiber (dispersion: -2.5 ps/km/nm @1550 nm) without dispersion compensation. The results indicate that a regional metro WDM network could be implemented cost-effectively by using the proposed negative dispersion fiber and direct modulated lasers.

A single Mooring system with sag-Extensibility and Flexural Rigidity Applied to Offshore Platform

Floating platform system has been extensively used in ocean exploitation, particularly for a tension-leg platform （TLP） system in deep water. Most of the TLPs are multi-mooring systems, where multi-joints are connected to the tension-legs so that the platform is not allowed to twist freely and may.s.bject to enormous force induced by large incident waves in the weak-direction of the structure. This study aims to exploit a single moored offshore platform system that may attract less force and can be operated with less effort. In our analysis, in addition to mechanical properties of the tether, two important properties are also taken into consideration for the single mooring tether with expanded cross sectional dimension and utilization of stronger material, namely, the sag-extensibility and the flexural rigidity. Finally, the dynamic structural behavior produced by the mechanical effects on the new system is investigated and compared with that of traditional design while the wave-structure interactions of large body are also accounted for. Our study finds that the neglect of sag-extensibility or the flexural rigidity of large, strong mooring cable may result in a conservative but not necessarily.s.fe design.

Low Temperature Electrical Transport in Double Layered CMR Manganite La1.2sr1.4Ba0.4Mn2O7

The electrical transport behavior and magnetoresistance (MR) of a polycrystalline double layered manganite La1.2sr1.4Ba0.4Mn2O7, synthesized by the sol-gel method, are investigated in the temperature range 4.2 K - 300 K. The sample exhibits an insulator-to-metal transition at 87 K (TIM) and the spin-glass (sG)-like behavior is observed below 50 K (TsG). The transport behavior is analyzed in the entire temperature range considering three different regions: paramagnetic insulating region (T>TIM), ferromagnetic metallic region (TsG IM) and antiferromagnetic insulating region (TsG) by fitting the temperature dependent resistivity data to the equations governing the conduction process in the respective temperature regions. The results show that the conduction at T>TIM follows Mott variable range hopping (VRH) process, while the two-magnon scattering process is evidenced at TsG IM which is suppressed with the applied magnetic field of 4 T. The low temperature conductivity data are also fitted with Mott VRH equation. The sample exhibits a large MR (≈45%) over a temperature range???? 5 K – 50 K and it shows ≈32% MR at 5 K with a magnetic field of 0.5 T.

Numerical studies on internal fire whirls(IFW)generated in a vertical shaft model with a single corner gap were reported in this *** generation of IFW,burning rate of fuel and temperature were studied experimentally *** simulations on medium-scale IFW were carried out using a fully-coupled large eddy.s.mulation incorporating subgrid scale turbulence and a fire source with heat release rates compiled from experimental *** transient flame shape was studied and then simulated numerically by using *** dynamic phenomena of generation and development of IFW were simulated and then compared with experimental *** predicted results were validated by comparing with experimental data,which demonstrated that an IFW can be simulated by Computational Fluid *** results for flame surface,temperature,and flame length agreed well with the experimental *** IFW flame region and intermittent region were longer than those for an ordinary pool *** modified empirical formula for centerline temperature was *** of vertical and tangential velocity in axial and radial directions were also *** vortex core radius was found to be determined by the fuel bed *** field was not measured extensively due to resources *** measured temperature distribution with predictions is acceptable because temperature is related to the heat release rate,air flow and pressure gradient.
