A new excess Gibbs free energy/equation of state type mixing 0rule was derived byremoving the infinite pressure boundary condition imposed by Wong and *** mixing rulewas extensively tested in terms of a comprehensive data base,consisting of 52 simple nonpolar-nonpolar,carbon dioxide containing,hydrocarbon-hydrocarbon,CFC,polar-polar,nonpolar-polarbinary and multicomponent *** on the complete predictive capability,a comparisonbetween the Wong-Sandler and the mixing rule proposed was *** results indicate that thenew mixing rule is in general superior to the Wong-Sandler’s,and the binary interaction parameteras required by the latter is removed,which reduces computing effort and is reliable in predictions ofvapor-liquid equilibria from low pressures to high pressures.

Post-bond heat treatment(PBHT) applied to a transient liquid phase(TLP) bonding joint is an effective approach to remove the brittle borides and improve its ***,we proposed two types of PBHT strategies to obtain a TLP bonded γ'-strengthened Co-based single crystal superalloy,and the microstructural characteristics and tensile properties of the two heat treated joints were compared to identify the optimal PBHT *** evolution of the brittle boride in the joint after the PBHT was studied by using in-situ *** experimental results allowed to provide a theoretic model to quantitatively evaluate the distribution of the brittle phase after the optimal PBHT and analyze the joint fractures to understand the failure *** obtained results revealed that a post-bond solid solution treatment performed to the joint at a high temperature(over 1275℃) could decrease the area fraction of the boride from 7.2 % to 1.4 % and increase the elongation from 1.9 % to 7.8 %.This work emphasizes the relevance of solid solution temperature when a PBHT strategy is applied.

The influence of ultraviolet light irradiation on the pitting corrosion performance of a Zr_(2)Ni metallic glass was examined using electrochemical methods and immersion test in 0.05 mol/L NaCl *** the results of potentiostatic polarization,the pitting potential of the ultraviolet light-irradiated sample shifted positively with a value of~300 mV,revealing the enhanced pitting corrosion resistance of the *** corrosion morphology after the immersion test also demonstrated lower degree of corrosion damage and improved pitting resistance of the sample with ultraviolet light irradiation.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis revealed more zirconium enrichment in the passive film and no chloride ions adsorption for the samples with ultraviolet irradiation,accounting for the suppression of the pit generation and *** findings indicate that ultraviolet light irradiation improves the pitting corrosion resistance of the Zr-based metallic glasses,which are promising structural materials to be used in corrosion environments with high ultraviolet irradiation.

Background:Phenylketonuria(PKU)is caused by a defect in phenylalanine hydroxylase(PAH).More than 500 mutations have been reported for the gene encoding ***,approximately l%-5%of these include large deletions and large duplications that cannot be detected by conventional ***:In this report we tried to fully characterize a PAH-deficient *** patient was a 2-year-old Japanese boy who was diagnosed with classical PKU at the time of neonatal screening,which was confirmed by the tetrahydrobiopterin-loading ***-related direct sequencing and multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification(MLPA)were used to analyze of the PAH of the ***:Using PCR-related direct sequencing method,we could detect only a heterozygous novel missense mutation:p.136G>C(p.G46R).A second mutation was detected by *** patient was heterozygous for a novel large deletion of exons 12 and 13:c.1200-?_1359+?del(EX12_13del).For genetic counseling,an accurate genetic diagnosis is often ***:Through a combination of MLPA and conventional methods,the success rate of PAH mutation identification can be close to 100%.

The mechanical properties of the Mg97Znly2 extruded alloy containing the long-period stacking ordered phase, the so-called LPSO-phase, with a volume fraction of 24%-25%, were examined by compression tests and cyclic tension-compression deformation tests. The plastic behavior of the extruded alloys with compositions of Mg99.2Zn0.2y0.6 and Mg89Zn4y7 （molar fraction, %）, which were almost the same compositions of Mg matrix phase and LPSO phase in Mg97Zn1y2 Mg/LPSO two-phase alloy, respectively, were also prepared. By comparing their mechanical properties, the strengthening mechanisms operating in the Mg97Zn1 y2 extruded alloy were discussed. Existence of the LPSO-phase strongly enhanced the refinement of Mg matrix grain size during extrusion, which led to a large increment of the strength of alloy. In addition, the LPSO-phases, which were aligned along the extrusion direction in Mg97Zn1y2 extruded alloy, acted as hardening phases, just like reinforced fibers.

In this paper, we analyze the spectral behavior(optical thickness, shape and linewidth) of laser radiation absorption under the correlation heating of ions in an ultracold plasma. The Voigt formula is used to find the absorption *** spectral line width is shown to grow with time while the optical thickness reduces. Our modeling results are in good agreement with the experimental findings reported in the literature.
