Ultrathin polyimide-based composites with efficient low-reflectivity electromagnetic shielding and infrared stealth performance

Researching and manufacturing materials that possess both electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding and infrared stealth capabilities is of great ***,an ultrathin polyimide-based nonwoven fabric with low-reflection EMI shielding/infrared stealth performance is successfully fabricated by in-situ loading of Fe_(3)O_(4)/Ag nanoparticles on the surface of polyimide(PI)fiber(PFA),and followed by bonding with a commercial cu/Ni *** synergistic assembly of PFA and cu/Ni promotes the rational construction of hierarchical impedance matching,inducing electromagnetic waves(EMW)to enter the composite and be dissipated as much as ***,the existence of cu/Ni mesh on back of PFA facilitates the formation of electromagnetic resonance and destructive interference of EMW reflected from composite,leading to a lowerreflectivity(0.26)EMI shielding performance of 58 dB within 24–40 gHz at a thinner thickness(430μm).More importantly,the fluffy PFA nonwoven fabric and metal cu/Ni mesh endow composite with good thermal insulation and low infrared emissivity,resulting in excellent infrared stealth performance in various *** a result,such excellent compatibility makes it possible to become a promising defense material to be applied in military tent for preventing electromagnetic and infrared radiation.

Sand control mechanism of radial well filled with phase change material in hydrate reservoir

Radial well filled with phase change material has been proposed as a novel sand control method for hydrate exploitation. In order to reveal the sand control mechanism, cFD-DEM coupling method is applied to simulate the migration, settlement, and blockage processes of sand particles in the radial *** obtained results indicate that three scenarios have been recognized for sand particles passing through sand control medium, based on the diameter ratio of sand control medium to sand particle（Dd）:fully passing（Dd= 8.75-22.5）, partially passing and partially blocked（Dd= 3.18-5.63）, and completely blocked（Dd= 2.18-3.21）. After being captured by the sand control medium, sand particles can block pores, which increases fluid flow resistance and causes a certain pressure difference in the radial *** pressure in the radial well should be lower than the hydrate phase equilibrium pressure during sand control design, for the purpose of promoting hydrate decomposition, and sand capture. The length of the radial well should be optimized based on the reservoir pore pressure, production pressure difference,bottom hole pressure, and the pressure gradient in the radial well. It should be noticed that the sand control medium leads to a decrease in permeability after sand particles captured. Even the permeability is reduced to several hundred millidarcy, it is still sufficient to ensure the effective flow of gas and water after hydrate decomposition. Increasing fluid velocity reduces the blocking capacity of the sand control medium, mainly because of deterioration in bridging between sand particles.

A variety of research reports on novel supramolecular topologies have been published over the last ***,it is still a great challenge to tap into the inner functional properties of these ***,two tetranuclear metallamacrocycles 1 and 2 and four octonuclear[2]catenanes 3-6 were constructed successfully via a coordination-driven self-assembly strategy,by conscious design and use of the tetramethyl bidentate pyridine ligand L1,and the appropriate selection of six binuclear half-sandwich rhodium building units with different longitudinal *** complexes have been fully characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and NMR ***,near-infrared photothermal studies of the obtained[2]catenanes reveal different photothermal response in solid and solution states,which may be attributed to a strong fluorescence quenching effect of the half-sandwich organometallic fragment and different conjugated effect of cp^(*)Rh based building blocks in the interlocking *** photothermal conversion efficiencies of[2]catenanes 4-6 fall in the range 30.5%-16.5% *** contribution aims to play a key role in the experimental development of cp^(*)-based photothermal materials.

Aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3))ceramics have been widely utilized as circuit substrates owing to their exceptional *** this study,boron nitride microribbon(BNMR)/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics are prepared using spark plasma sintering(SPS).This study examines the effect of varying the amount of toughened phase BNMR on the density,mechanical properties,dielectric constant,and thermal conductivity of BNMR/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics while also exploring the mechanisms behind the toughening and increased thermal conductivity of the fabricated *** results showed that for a BNMR content of 5 wt%,BNMR/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics displayed more enhanced characteristics than pure Al_(2)O_(3)*** particular,the relative density,hardness,fracture toughness,and bending strength were 99.95%±0.025%,34.11±1.5 gPa,5.42±0.21 MPa·m^(1/2),and 375±2.5 MPa,*** values represent increases of 0.76%,70%,35%,and 25%,respectively,compared with the corresponding values for pure Al_(2)O_(3)***,during the SPS process,BNMRs are subjected to high temperatures and pressures,resulting in the bending and deformation of the Al_(2)O_(3)matrix;this leads to the formation of special thermal pathways within *** dielectric constant of the composite ceramics decreased by 25.6%,whereas the thermal conductivity increased by 45.6%compared with that of the pure Al_(2)O_(3)*** results of this study provide valuable insights into ways of enhancing the performance of Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic substrates by incorporating novel BNMRs as a second *** improvements are significant for potential applications in circuit substrates and related fields that require high-performance materials with improved mechanical properties and thermal conductivities.

Thrombosis and inflammation are primary contributors to the onset and progression of ischemic *** contact-kinin pathway,initiated by plasma kallikrein(PK)and activated factor XII(FXIIa),functions bidirectionally with the coagulation and inflammation cascades,providing a novel target for therapeutic drug development in ischemic *** this study,we identified a bat-derived oligopeptide from Myotis myotis(Borkhausen,1797),designated LE6(Leu-Ser-glu-glu-Pro-glu,702 Da),with considerable potential in stroke therapy due to its effects on the contact kinin ***,LE6 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on PK and FXIIa,with inhibition constants of 43.97μmol/L and 6.37μmol/L,*** vitro analyses revealed that LE6 prolonged plasma recalcification time and activated partial thromboplastin *** murine models,LE6 effectively inhibited carrageenan-induced mouse tail thrombosis,Fecl3-induced carotid artery thrombosis,and photochemically induced intracerebral ***,LE6 significantly decreased inflammation and stroke injury in transient middle cerebral artery occlusion ***,the low toxicity,hemolytic activity,and bleeding risk of LE6,along with its synthetic simplicity,underscore its clinical *** conclusion,as an inhibitor of FXIIa and PK,LE6 offers potential therapeutic benefits in stroke treatment by mitigating inflammation and preventing thrombus formation.

Frequency Domain Fatigue Evaluation on ScR girth-Weld Based on Structural Stress

The Steel catenary Riser(ScR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating *** harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the ScR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue *** structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue ***,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of ScR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of ScR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural ***,a full-scale FE model of ScR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the ScR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into *** research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the ScR.

Supposition of graphene stacks to estimate the contact resistance and conductivity of nanocomposites

In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly influence the conductivity,which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.
