Free radicals trigger the closure of open pores in lignin-derived hard carbons toward improved sodium-storage capacity

The chemical activation of various precursors is effective for creating additional closed pores in hard carbons for sodium storage.However,the formation mechanism of closed pores under the influence of pore-forming agents is not well understood.Herein,an effective chemical activation followed by a high-temperature self-healing strategy is employed to generate interconnected closed pores in lignin-derived hard carbon(Hcs).By systematic experimental design combined with electron paramagnetic res-onance spectroscopy,it can be found that the content of free radicals in the carbon matrix influences the closure of open pores at high temperatures.Excessively high activation temperature(>700 c)leads to a low free radical concentration,making it difficult to achieve self-healing of open pores at high tempera-tures.By activation at 700°c,a balance between pore making and self-healing is achieved in the final hard carbon.A large number of free radicals triggers rapid growth and aggregation of carbon microcrys-tals,blocking pre-formed open micropores and creating additional interconnected closed pores in as-obtained hard carbons.As a result,the optimized carbon anode(LK-700-1300)delivers a high reversible capacity of 330.8 mA h g^(-1) at 0.03 A g^(-1),which is an increase of 86 mA h g^(-1) compared to the pristine lignin-derived carbon anode(L-700-1300),and exhibits a good rate performance(202.1 mA h g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1)).This work provides a universal and effective guidance for tuning closed pores of hard carbons from otherprecursors.

Despite epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKl)have shown remarkable efficacy in patients with EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer(NScLc),acquired resistance inevitably develops,limiting clinical efficacy.We found that TET2 was poly-ubiquitinated by E3 ligase cUL7^(FBXW11) and degraded in EGFR-TKI resistant NScLc ells.Genetic perturbationof TET2 rendered parental cells more tolerant to TKI treatment.TET2 was stabilized by MEK1 phosphorylation at Ser 1107,while MEK1 inactivation promoted its proteasome degradation by enhancing the recruitment of cUL7^(FBXW11),Loss of TET2 resulted in the upregulation of TNF/NF-kB signaling that confers the EGFR-TKI resistance.Genetic or pharmacological inhibition of NF-kB attenuate the TKI resistance both in vitro and in vivo.Our findings exemplified how a cell growth controlling kinase MEK1 leveraged the epigenetic homeostasis by regulating TET2,and demonstrated an alternative path of non-mutational acquired EGFR-TKI resistance modulated by TET2 deficiency.Therefore,combined strategy exploiting EGFR-TKI and inhibitors of TET2/NF-κB axis holds therapeutic potential for treating NScLc patients who suffered from this resistance.

Efficient electrocatalysts are vital to large-current hydrogen production in commercial water splitting for green energy generation.Herein,a novel heterophase engineering strategy is described to produce polymorphic coSe2electrocatalysts.The composition of the electrocatalysts consisting of both cubic coSe2（c-coSe2） and orthorhombic coSe2（o-coSe2） phases can be controlled precisely.Our results demonstrate that junction-induced spin-state modulation of co atoms enhances the adsorption of intermediates and accelerates charge transfer resulting in superior large-current hydrogen evolution reaction（HER）properties.Specifically,the coSe2-based heterophase catalyst with the optimal c-coSe2content requires an overpotential of merely 240 mV to achieve 1,000 mA·cm-2as well as a Tafel slope of 50.4 mV·dec-1.Furthermore,the electrocatalyst can maintain a large current density of 1,500 mA·cm-2for over 320 h without decay.The results reveal the advantages and potential of heterophase junction engineering pertaining to design and fabrication of low-cost transition metal catalysts for large-current water splitting.

Exploring dark matter-gauge boson effective interactions at current and future colliders

In this study,we systematically investigate collider constraints on effective interactions between Dark Matter(DM)particles and electroweak gauge bosons.We consider the simplified models in which scalar or Dirac fermion DM candidates couple only to electro weak gauge bosons through high dimensional effective operators.considering the induced DM-quarks and DM-gluons operators from the Renormalization Group Evolution(RGE)running effect,we present comprehensive constraints on the effective energy scaleΛand Wilson coefficients cB(Λ),cW(Λ)from direct detection,indirect detection,and collider searches.In particular,we present the corresponding sensitivity from the Large Hadron Electron collider(LHec)and Future circular collider in the electronproton mode(Fcc-ep)for the first time,update the mono-j and mono-γsearch limits at the Large Hadron collider(LHc),and derive the new limits at the circular Electron Positron collider(cEPc).

Nanocavity enriched cuPd alloy with high selectivity for cO2 electroreduction toward c2H4

Electrocatalysis of cO2reduction reaction is an effective way to convert cO2into high value-added products,but the selectivity of cu-based catalysts for c2+products needs to be improved due to the high energy barrier of c-c coupling.Therefore,a viable catalyst design strategy to decrease energy barrier of c-c coupling should be put forward.Here,a nanocavity-enriched cuPd single atom alloy（cuPd SAA） catalyst is designed to promote cc coupling process.The faradaic efficiency of cuPd SAA for ethylene and c2+reaches 75.6% and 85.7% at-0.7 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode（RHE）,respectively.Based on the results given by in situ characterization,the porous hollow structure dramatically increases the ratio of the linear-bond*cO,thus enhancing the faradaic efficiency for ethylene.Density functional theory（DFT） calculation reveals that the Pd doping can regulate the electronic structure of neighboring cu atoms to decrease the energy barrier of c-c coupling,further improving the faradaic efficiency.This work provides a new idea for designing catalyst with high selectivity for ethylene.

We report the detection of aγ-ray bubble spanning at least 100deg2 in ultra-high energy(UHE)up to a few PeV in the direction of the star-forming region cygnus X,implying the presence super PeVatron(s)accelerating protons to at least 10 PeV.A log-parabola form with the photon indexΓ(E)=(2.71±0.02)+(0.11±0.02)×log10(E/10 TeV)is found fitting the gamma-ray energy spectrum of the bubble well.UHE sources,“hot spots”correlated with very massive molecular clouds,and a quasi-spherical amorphousγ-ray emitter with a sharp central brightening are observed in the bubble.In the core of~0.5°,spatially associating with a region containing massive OB association(cygnus OB2)and a microquasar(cygnus X-3),as well as previously reported multi-TeV sources,an enhanced concentration of UHEγ-rays is observed with 2 photons at energies above 1 PeV.The general feature of the bubble,the morphology,and the energy spectrum,are reasonably reproduced by the assumption of a particle accelerator in the core,continuously injecting protons into the ambient medium.

A flexible ultra-broadband multi-layered absorber working at 2 GHz-40 GHz printed by resistive ink

A flexible extra broadband metamaterial absorber(MMA)stacked with five layers working at 2 GHz–40 GHz is investigated.Each layer is composed of polyvinyl chloride(PVc),polyimide(PI),and a frequency selective surface(FSS),which is printed on PI using conductive ink.To investigate this absorber,both one-dimensional analogous circuit analysis and three-dimensional full-wave simulation based on a physical model are provided.Various crucial electromagnetic properties,such as absorption,effective impedance,complex permittivity and permeability,electric current distribution and magnetic field distribution at resonant peak points,are studied in detail.Analysis shows that the working frequency of this absorber covers entire S,c,X,Ku,K and Ka bands with a minimum thickness of 0.098λ_(max)(λ_(max) is the maximum wavelength in the absorption band),and the fractional bandwidth(FBW)reaches 181.1%.Moreover,the reflection coefficient is less than-10 dB at 1.998 GHz–40.056 GHz at normal incidence,and the absorptivity of the plane wave is greater than 80%when the incident angle is smaller than 50°.Furthermore,the proposed absorber is experimentally validated,and the experimental results show good agreement with the simulation results,which demonstrates the potential applicability of this absorber at 2 GHz–40 GHz.

Field induced chern insulating states in twisted monolayer–bilayer graphene

Unraveling the mechanism underlying topological phases, notably the chern insulators(ch Is) in strong correlated systems at the microscopy scale, has captivated significant research interest. Nonetheless, ch Is harboring topological information have not always manifested themselves, owing to the constraints imposed by displacement fields in certain experimental configurations. In this study, we employ density-tuned scanning tunneling microscopy(DT-STM) to investigate the ch Is in twisted monolayer–bilayer graphene(t MBG). At zero magnetic field, we observe correlated metallic states.While under a magnetic field, a metal–insulator transition happens and an integer ch I is formed emanating from the filling index s = 3 with a chern number c = 1. Our results underscore the pivotal role of magnetic fields as a powerful probe for elucidating topological phases in twisted Van der Waals heterostructures.

采用浸渍法制备了3种具有稳定多孔结构的支撑材料(SiO_(2),Mg O,TiO_(2))负载的Na-Mn_(2)O_(3)载氧体,采用XRD、N2吸附-脱附、SEM、H_(2)-TPR等方法对载氧体的微观结构进行表征,研究了不同还原温度下各种支撑材料对Na-Mn_(2)O_(3)载氧体化学链甲烷氧化偶联性能的影响。实验结果表明,支撑材料主要影响载氧体的催化活性和储氧能力,SiO_(2)比MgO和TiO_(2)具有更发达的孔结构和更高的比表面积,Na-Mn_(2)O_(3)/Si O_(2)的催化性能最佳,在800℃下c2选择性达74.25%、c2产率为14.12%;Na-Mn_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2)和Na-Mn_(2)O_(3)/MgO具有较好的结构稳定性,活性组分具有较好的晶格氧稳定性;MgO与Mn_(2)O_(3)的前体在载氧体制备过程中化学反应最显著,形成了Mg_(6)MnO_(8)并产生较高的储氧能力。
