In this paper, a finite element model was developed for a turbine blade with thermal barrier coatings to investigate its failure behavior under cyclic thermal loading. Based on temperature and stress fields obtained from finite element simulations, dangerous regions in ceramic coating were determined in terms of the maximum principal stress criterion. The results show that damage preferentially occurs in the chamfer and rabbet of a turbine blade with thermal barrier coatings and its thermal fatigue life decreases with the increase of thermal stress induced by high service temperature.

The energy revolution requires coordination in energy consumption, supply, storage and institutional systems.Renewable energy generation technologies, along with their associated costs, are already fully equipped for large-scale promotion.However, energy storage remains a bottleneck, and solutions areneeded through the use of electric vehicles, which traditionallyplay the role of energy consumption in power systems. Toclarify the key technologies and institutions that support EVsas terminals for energy use, storage, and feedback, the cSEEJPES forum assembled renowned experts and scholars in relevantfields to deliver keynote reports and engage in discussions ontopics such as vehicle–grid integration technology, advancedsolid-state battery technology, high-performance electric motortechnology, and institutional innovation in the industry chain.These experts also provided prospects for energy storage andutilization technologies capable of decarbonizing new powersystems.

In recent years,reinforcement learning(RL)has shown high potential for robotic applications.However,RL heavily relies on the reward function,and the agent merely follows the policy to maximize rewards but lacks reasoning ability.As a result,RL may not be suitable for long-horizon robotic tasks.In this paper,we propose a novel learning framework,called multiple state spaces reasoning reinforcement learning(SRRL),to endow the agent with the primary reasoning capability.First,we abstract the implicit and latent links between multiple state spaces.Then,we embed historical observations through a long short-term memory(LSTM)network to preserve long-term memories and dependencies.The proposed SRRL’s ability of abstraction and long-term memory enables agents to execute long-horizon robotic searching and planning tasks more quickly and reasonably by exploiting the correlation between radio frequency identification(RFID)sensing properties and the environment occupation map.We experimentally validate the efficacy of SRRL in a visual game-based simulation environment.Our methodology outperforms three state-of-the-art baseline schemes by significant margins.

The Ramsar convention on Wetlands is an international framework through which countries identify and protect important wetlands.yet Ramsar wetlands are under substantial anthropogenic pressure worldwide,and tracking ecological change relies on multitemporal data sets.Here,we evaluated the spatial extent,temporal change,and anthropogenic threat to Ramsar wetlands at a national scale across china to determine whether their management is currently sustainable.We analyzed Landsat data to examine wetland dynamics and anthropogenic threats at the 57 Ramsar wetlands in china between 1980 and 2018.Results reveal that Ramsar sites play important roles in preventing wetland loss compared to the dramatic decline of wetlands in the surrounding areas.However,there are declines in wetland area at 18 Ramsar sites.Among those,six lost a wetland area greater than 100 km^(2),primarily caused by agricultural activities.consistent expansion of anthropogenic land covers occurred within 43(75%)Ramsar sites,and anthropogenic threats from land cover change were particularly notable in eastern china.Aquaculture pond expansion and Spartina alterniflora invasion were prominent threats to coastal Ramsar wetlands.The observations within china’s Ramsar sites,which in management regulations have higher levels of protection than other wetlands,can help track progress towards achieving United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).The study findings suggest that further and timely actions are required to control the loss and degradation of wetland ecosystems.

Double-crossover-like(DXL)molecules are a series of DNA motifs containing two strands with identical or different sequences.These homo-or hetero-dimers can further polymerize into bulk structures through specific hydrogen bonding between sticky ends.DXL molecules have high designability,predictivity and sequence robustness;and their supramolecular polymerization products would easily achieve controllable morphology.In addition,among all available DNA nanomotifs,DXL molecules are small in size so that the cost of DXL-based nanostructures is low.These properties together make DXL-based nanostructures good candidates for patterning,templating,information and matter storage,etc.Herein,we will discuss DXL motifs in terms of the detailed molecular design,and their supramolecular polymerization in various dimensions,and related applications.

Background:Previously published meta-epidemiological studies focused on Western medicine have identified some trial characteristics that impact the treatment effect of randomized controlled trials(RcTs).Nevertheless,it remains unclear if similar associations exist in RcTs on chinese herbal medicine(cHM).Further,chinese medicine-related characteristics have not been explored yet.Objective:To investigate trial characteristics related to treatment effect estimates on cHM RcTs.Search strategy:This meta-epidemiological study searched 5 databases for systematic reviews on cHM treatment published between January 2011 and July 2021.Inclusion criteria:An eligible systematic review should only include RcTs of cHM and conduct at least one meta-analysis.Data extraction and analysis:Two reviewers independently conducted data extraction on general characteristics of systematic reviews,meta-analyses and included RcTs.They also assessed the risk of bias of RcTs using the cochrane risk of bias tool.A two-step approach was used for data analyses.The ratio of odds ratios(ROR) and difference in standardized mean differences (dSMD) with 95%confidence interval (cI) were applied to present the difference in effect estimates for binary and continuous outcomes,respectively.Results:Ninety-one systematic reviews,comprising 1338 RcTs were identified.For binary outcomes,RcTs incorporated with syndrome differentiation (ROR:1.23;95%cI:[1.07,1.39]),adopting chinese medicine formula (ROR:1.19;95%cI:[1.03,1.34]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (ROR:1.29;95%cI:[1.06,1.52]) and selective outcome reporting (ROR:1.12;95%cI:[1.01,1.24]),as well as a trial size≥100 (ROR:1.23;95%cI:[1.04,1.42]) preferred to show larger effect estimates.As for continuous outcomes,RcTs with chinese medicine diagnostic criteria (dSMD:0.23;95%cI:[0.06,0.41]),judged as high/unclear risk of bias on allocation concealment (dSMD:-0.70;95%cI:[-0.99,-0.42]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (dSMD:0.30;95%cI:[0.18,0.43]),conducted at a single center

Glioma is the most common and lethal intrinsic primary tumor of the brain.Its controversial origins may contribute to its heterogeneity,creating challenges and difficulties in the development of therapies.Among the components constituting tumors,glioma stem cells are highly plastic subpopulations that are thought to be the site of tumor initiation.Neural stem cells/progenitor cells and oligodendrocyte progenitor cells are possible lineage groups populating the bulk of the tumor,in which gene mutations related to cell-cycle or metabolic enzymes dramatically affect this transformation.Novel approaches have revealed the tumor-promoting properties of distinct tumor cell states,glial,neural,and immune cell populations in the tumor microenvironment.communication between tumor cells and other normal cells manipulate tumor progression and influence sensitivity to therapy.Here,we discuss the heterogeneity and relevant functions of tumor cell state,microglia,monocyte-derived macrophages,and neurons in glioma,highlighting their bilateral effects on tumors.Finally,we describe potential therapeutic approaches and targets beyond standard treatments.

Bazi Bushen (BZBS), a traditional chinese medicine (TcM), has demonstrated therapeutic efficacy in testicular dysfunction within D-galactose and NaNO2 mouse models. This study aimed to ascertain if BZBS could also mitigate the decline in testicular function associated with natural aging. Therefore, male aged mice were employed to evaluate the preventive effects of BZBS on male reproductive aging. This was achieved by assessing sex hormone production, testicular histomorphology, and spermatogenesis. Relative to the untreated aged control group, BZBS administration elevated the levels of sex hormones and spermatocyte populations and preserved normal testicular structure in aged mice. Notably, spermatogenesis was maintained. Further analyses, including malondialdehyde (MDA) assays and real-time PcR, indicated that BZBS diminished testicular oxidative stress and the inflammatory burden. corroborating these findings, mice treated with BZBS exhibited reductions in the populations of senescent and apoptotic cells within the seminiferous tubules, suggesting alleviated cellular damage. In contrast, we observed that rapamycin, a drug known for its longevity benefits, induced excessive testicular apoptosis and did not decrease lipid peroxidation. collectively, our results highlight BZBS's promising clinical potential in counteracting male reproductive aging, underlining its mechanisms of action. © 2024 china Pharmaceutical University
