A spline filter is used to extract roughness profiles for the measurement of surface texture and is useful when sufficient sections before and after a primary.profile could not be *** is because a spline filter could prevent the end effect,which is the fluctuation of output data that occurs around both ends of the primary.profile and depends on the width of the weighting function of a *** spline filter is based on the calculation of an inverse matrix instead of the convolution of the weighting function of the *** input data include outliers,the output of a spline filter greatly.*** solve this problem,we propose a robust spline ***,output of the robust spline is not in agreement with that of the spline filter when input data do not include ***,the robust spline filter has no lower *** this paper,the"Fast M-estimation Spline Filter(FMSF)"is *** uses the fast M-estimation *** performs robust to input data including outliers,and gives the same output as that of general spline filters to input data without *** value estimated by.this method is in agreement with that estimated by.the least squares method if no outlier *** order to apply.the fast M-estimation method to the spline filter,convolution of weight function is used instead of the inverse *** the input geometry.with shear and point-sy.metric extensions is pre-processed to prevent the end effect.

In surface roughness measurement,if spikes are included in the primary.profile,a problem occurs wherein the Gaussian filter(GF)is unable to extract the shape *** address this problem,the use of a robust filter is ***,ISO16610-31:Gaussian regression filters(GRF)only.provide a single method and a few examples,and does not specify.the conditions under which the primary.profile can be ***,the data presented in the example on robustness in ISO16610-31 do not contain roughness *** actual roughness measurements,no primary.profile exists that does not include a roughness *** the characteristics of GRFs are unknown,it is not y.t clear which filter should be used for which primary.profile,and this is an issue that has been raised at ISO and JIS *** addition,the establishment of filter selection guidelines is necessary.at measurement ***,this paper clarifies the characteristics of GF-series filters,summarizes the points to be considered when using them,and identifies the filter that should be selected according to different *** on the results,a figure that visualizes the characteristics of filters and a flowchart regarding which filter should be used are created;these tools,to the best of the authors’knowledge,did not exist prior to this *** is believed that these results will help fulfil the needs of measuring job sites and also aid in filter selection.

Two-proton relative momentum distributions from the break-up channels 23Al→p+p+21Na and 22Mg→p+p+20Ne at an energy.of 60-70 A MeV have been measured together with two-proton opening angles at the projectile fragment separator beamline (RIPS) in the RIKEN Ring Cy.lotron Facility. The results demonstrate the existence of diproton emission component from single-step 2He for highly.excited 23Al and 22Mg.

The present paper aims at giving some general ideas concerning the micromechanical approach of the strength of a porous material. It is shown that its determination theoretically.amounts to solving a nonlinear boundary.value problem defined on a representative elementary.volume(REV). The principle of nonlinear homogenization is illustrated based on the case of a solid phase having a Green’s strength criterion. An original refinement of the so-called secant method(based on two reference strains) is also provided. The paper also describes the main feature of the Gurson’s model which implements the principle of limit analy.is on a conceptual model of hollow sphere. The last part of the paper gives some ideas concerning poromechanical couplings.

Ray.eigh–Tay.or(RT)instability.which occurs when a heavy.fluid overlies a light fluid in a gravitational field,is an important scenario for planetary.core formation,especially.beneath the planetary.magma *** process has been discussed based on numerical simulations and experiments using analog ***,experiments on the RT instability.using the core-forming melt have not been performed at high *** this study.we perform in situ observation of the RT instability.of liquid Fe and Fe–Si(Si10 and 20 wt.%)alloy. under high pressure using a high-power laser-shock *** observed perturbation on the Fe–Si surface grows exponentially.with time,while there is no obvious growth of perturbations on the Fe in the measured time ***,the growth rate of the RT instability.increases with Si *** timescale of the initial growth of the RT instability.in planetary.interiors is likely.to be much faster(by.more than two orders of magnitude)than the 30–403106 y.ar timescale of planetary.core formation.

Water-rock interaction and groundwater mixing are important phenomena in understanding hy.rogeological sy.tems and the stability.of rock slopes especially.those consisting largely.of moderately.watersoluble minerals like calcite. In this study. the hy.rogeological and geochemical evolutions of groundwater in a limestone quarry.composed of three strata: limestone lay.r(covering), interbedded lay.r under the covering lay.r, and slaty.greenstone lay.r(basement) were investigated. Water-rock interaction in the open-pit limestone quarry.was evaluated using PHREEQC, while hierarchical cluster analy.is(HCA)and principal component analy.is(PCA) were used to classify.and identify.water sources responsible for possible groundwater mixing within rock lay.rs. In addition, Geochemist's Workbench was applied to estimate the mixing fractions to clarify.sensitive zones that may.affect rock slope stability. The results showed that the changes in Ca2+and HCO3àconcentrations of several groundwater samples along the interbedded lay.r could be attributed to mixing groundwater from the limestone lay.r and that from slaty.greenstone lay.r. Based on the HCA and PCA results, groundwaters were classified into several ty.es depending on their origin:(1) groundwater from the limestone lay.r(LO),(2) mixed groundwater flowing along the interbedded lay.r(e.g., groundwater samples L-7, L-11, S-3 and S-4), and(3) groundwater originating from the slaty.greenstone lay.r(SO). The mixing fractions of 41% LO: 59% SO, 64% LO: 36% SO, 43%LO: 57% SOand 25% LO: 75% SOon the normal day. corresponded to groundwaters L-7, L-11, S-3 and S-4,respectively. while the mixing fractions of groundwaters L-7 and L-11(61% LO: 39% SOand 93% LO: 7% SO,respectively. on rainy.day. became the majority.of groundwater originating from the limestone *** indicate that groundwater along the interbedded lay.r significantly.affected the stability.of rock slopes by.enlarging multi-breaking zones in the lay.r through calcite

Introduction: Pregnancy.as much as childbirth constitutes a risky.situation, potentially.fraught with sometimes dramatic complications: maternal death. Objective: We conducted this study.with the aim of establishing the profile of those giving birth in our context with the aim to anticipate operationally.in the future on morbidity.but more on maternal deaths. Methodology. We conducted, using a structured questionnaire, a prospective descriptive study.in representative maternity.wards in the city.of Douala;the study.variables were socio-economic, anthropometric, obstetrical and clinical. Statistical analy.es were carried out with CS Pro 7.3 and SPSS version 25.0 software. The Student, Chi-square and Fischer tests were used to compare the means of the variables and the percentages. Results: We recruited 305 births for our study. The average age of our births was 28.7 y.ars ± 6.1 with an average height of 161.6 cm ± 5.06;an average body.mass index at the start of pregnancy.of 28.0 kilograms/square meter and 31.3 kilograms/square meter at delivery.the average weight gain was 8.4 g ± 5.37;an average gestation of 2.84±1.90;an average parity.of 2.2 ± 2.1 with an average birth interval of 27.7 months ± 23.7. The average gestational age was 39.2 weeks ± 1.21 with pregnancy.pathology.dominated by.malaria;85.9% began their prenatal follow-up before the 14th week of amenorrhea. Conclusion: The profile of childbirth in urban Cameroon does not seem potentially.dy.tocic compared to that of the same regional and racial area.

Introduction: Females with sickle cell disease (SCD), despite having a delay.d pubertal development, are subject to many.worries relating to their abilities to conceive, their capacity.to maintain a maternofetal-risk-free pregnancy.till term and give birth to healthy.children without sickle cell disease. Knowing that unplanned pregnancies are more likely.to increase maternofetal morbidity.and mortality. we sought out to explore the pregnancy.preferences in female patients with sickle cell disease to promote healthy.conception and childbirth in this vulnerable population. Methodology. We conducted a cross-sectional study.involving female patients of child-bearing age with sickle cell disease followed at Laquintinie Hospital Douala or who were members of a local sickle cell association. Pregnancy.preferences were determined using the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy.(DAP) scale. Factors associated with pregnancy.preferences were determined using multivariable linear regression model. Threshold for significance was set at p Results: Seventy.seven patients were included with a mean age of 24.71 ± 5.53 y.ars. Forty.patients (51.95%) had one sexual partner and thirteen women (32.5%) used contraceptive methods. Most patients (46.0%) responded “Strongly.Agree” or “Agree” to the statement “it would be a good thing for me if I became pregnant in the next 3 months”. The mean DAP score was 1.63 ± 0.91 [1.28 ± 0.82 in those who had a sexual partner and 1.99 ± 0.86 in those who had no sexual partner]. Factors that were positively.associated with DAP score were students (b = 0.32, 95% CI [0.21, 0.95], p = 0.003), monthly.income ≥ 100,000 FCFA (b = 0.24, 95% CI [0.07, 0.81], p = 0.022), and not having a sexual partner (b = 0.26, 95% CI [0.11, 0.85], p = 0.012). Conclusion: Most female patients with SCD have a low desire to avoid pregnancy. This is especially.true for patients who are not students, have a partner and have a low monthly.income.
