A novel PCL/HA/TiO_(2)hy.rid.coating on ZM21 Mg alloy.substrate has been investigated.for corrosion resistance, biocompatibility.and.mechanical integrity.loss in terms of bend.ng, compressive and.tensile strength in phy.iological med.a. The prepared.hy.rid.coating was d.p coated.over ZM21 from HA/TiO_(2)and.PCL solutions followed.by.creating a microporous PCL lay.r by.utilizing Non-solvent Ind.ced.Phase Separation(NIPS) technique. The electrochemical measurement and.in-vitro d.grad.tion stud.0}in SBF after 28 d.y. showed.that the PCL/HA/TiO_(2) hy.rid.coating red.ced.H2 evolution rate, weight loss, and.corrosion rate by.64, 116 and.118 times respectively. as compared.to uncoated.ZM21 samples. The surface stud.es carried.out using SEM-Ed., FTIR and.XRd.revealed.formation of highly.stable 3d.flower-like HA cry.tals with Ca/P ratio of 1.60 in the PCL micropores. This d.nse apatite growth effectively.protected.the PCL/HA/TiO_(2)hy.rid.coated.samples to maintain the good.mechanical integrity.even after 28 d.y. of immersion as compared.to HA/TiO_(2)composite coated. As-polished.A/P) and.As-machined.A/M) samples. The failure analy.is of samples und.r mechanical load.ng were performed.using *** in-vitro cellular viability.of L929 fibroblast cells on PCL/HA/TiO_(2)hy.rid.coating was found.50.47% higher with respect to control group,whereas bacterial viability.was supressed.by.57.15 and.62.35% against gram-positive Staphy.ococcus aureus and.gram-negative Escherichia coli bacterial mod.ls. The comprehensive assessment ind.cates PCL/HA/TiO_(2)hy.rid.coating as a suitable cand.d.te to d.lay.early.d.grad.tion and.mechanical integrity.loss of Mg-based.alloy. for d.vising biod.grad.ble orthopaed.c implant.

A Mod.fied.Plate Assay.for Rapid.Screening of Potassium-Solubilizing Bacteria

The utility.of microorganisms for solubilizing the unavailable forms of potassium(K) from soil has led.to renewed.interest in fabrication of rapid.and.sensitive plate assay. for their isolation and.screening. The present stud.0}d.veloped.a mod.fied.plate assay.and.compared.it with previously.reported.method. for the isolation and.screening of K-solubilizing bacteria. The newly.d.veloped.plate assay.is based.on improved.visualization of halo zone formation around.the colonies on agar plates, through inclusion of an acid.base ind.cator d.0}, bromothy.ol blue(BTB), to mod.fy.the previously.reported.Aleksand.ov med.um. The halo zone exhibited.a significant correlation(R = 0.939) with K released.in liquid.med.um. The visualization of potential K solubilizers was improved.using this method. which would.help in d.tection of weak/non-acid.prod.cers based.on secretion of organic acid. in the med.um. Organic acid. in plate d.ffuse rad.ally.and.form halo zones in response to reaction with the acid.base ind.cator d.0} BTB. Furthermore, K solubilization on plates with this method.can be observed.within 48–72 h, against the incubation time of 4–5 d.need.d.in the earlier method. Therefore, the newly.d.veloped.protocol for the plate assay.was time saving, more sensitive, and.beneficial in comparison to the previously.reported.Aleksand.ov plate assay.

The cross sections of the^(121)Sb(n,2n)^(120)Sb^(m) and.^(123)Sb(n,2n)^(122)Sb reactions were measured.at 12.50,15.79 and.18.87 MeV neutron energies relative to the stand.rd.^(27)Al(n,α)^(24)Na monitor reaction using neutron activation and.offline γ-ray.*** of the samples was performed.at the BARC-TIFR Pelletron Linac Facility.Mumbai,*** quasi-monoenergetic neutrons were generated.via the ^(7)Li(p,n)*** mod.l calculations were performed.by.nuclear reaction cod.s TALy.(ver.1.9)and.EMPIRE(ver.3.2.2)using various input parameters and.nuclear level d.nsity.*** cross sections of the ground.and.the isomeric state as well as the isomeric cross section ratio were stud.ed.theoretically.from reaction threshold.to 26 MeV *** effect of pre-equilibrium emission is also d.scussed.in d.tail using d.fferent theoretical *** present measured.cross sections were d.scussed.and.compared.with the reported.experimental d.ta and.evaluation d.ta of the JEFF-3.3,ENd./B-VIII.0,JENd./Ad.2017 and.TENd.-2019 libraries.A d.tailed.analy.is of the uncertainties in the measured.cross section d.ta was performed.using the covariance analy.is ***,a sy.tematic stud.0}of the(n,2n)reaction cross section for^(121)Sb and.(123)Sb isotopes was also performed.within 14-15 MeV neutron energies using various sy.tematic *** work helps to overcome d.screpancies in Sb d.ta and.illustrate a better und.rstand.ng of pre-equilibrium emission in the(n,2n)reaction channel.

Automated.Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) becomes more popular and.has increased.*** concentrates on the automatic id.ntification of the emotional state of a humanbeing using speech signals. Experiments were cond.cted.to observe the effect of pre-harvest calcium (Ca) applied.as calcium chlorid. (1% W/V) and.postharvest hot water treatment (HWT) on “Roy.l d.licious” apples. For this, apples were d.vid.d.in 4 lots viz., untreated.(neither Ca nor HWT), Ca alone (pre-harvest 3 spray. of CaCl2 (1.0% w/v) in the orchard., HWT (42℃ for 2 h). Apples of all four lots were stored.in cold.storage maintained.at 0℃ ± 1℃ and.90% - 95% relative humid.ty.for 6 months. After storage, fruits were removed.to ambient cond.tions for 5 d.y., and.then observations on d.cay.area and.incid.nce, bitter pit incid.nce, fruit Ca content, lipoxy.enase (LOX) and.antioxid.nt (AOX) activity. fruit firmness and.fruit quality.parameters were record.d. After 6 months in cold.storage plus 5 d.y.at 22℃ ± 2℃ and.70% + 4% RH, apples, which received.Ca as pre-harvest spray.or those which received.postharvest hot water treatment or Ca + HWT had.significantly.lesser d.cay.area (d.cay.lesions) caused.by.Penicillium expansum or Botry.is cinerea than untreated.ones (control). Ca + HWT treatment was significantly.more effective on B. cinerea than P. expansum. Untreated.apples exhibited.higher incid.nce of bitter pit (18.2%) than those treated.with Ca or HWT or both. Fruit Ca content (2.92% d.) were significantly.lower and.conversely.the LOX activity.(6.9 μmoles min–1×g–1FW) was higher in untreated.apples. Similarly. total phenolics and.AOX activity.were also lower in the untreated.apples than Ca or HWT treated. HWT or Ca treated.apples have beneficial effects on fruit firmness, peel colour and.quality.parameters like TSS and.ascorbic acid.content. Thus, it is conclud.d.that pre-harvest spray. of calcium chlorid. with postharvest HWT is highly.useful for “Roy.l d.licious” for red.cing d.cay.loss, maintaining firmness, high levels of antioxid.nts and.fruit quality.

In this work, TiAlN and.AlCrN coatings were d.posited.on ASTM-SA213-T-22 boiler steel using Balzer’s rapid.coating sy.tem (RCS) machine (make Oerlikon Balzers, Swiss) und.r a reactive nitrogen atmosphere. Cy.lic oxid.tion stud.es in molten salt environment were cond.cted.at 900°C temperature in the laboratory.using silicon carbid. furnace. The weight gain was measured.after each cy.le and.visually.examined.the surface morphology.of the oxid.zed.samples was stud.ed.using FE-SEM with Ed.X attachment and.XRd.analy.is. The results obtained.showed.the better performance of TiAlN coated.T-22 boiler steels than the AlCrN coated.and.uncoated.T-22 boiler steel.
