Evaluation of a Wireles. s.lar Powered Pers.nal Weather s.ation

We are evaluating dry.and cotton production in Martin county. Texas. meas.ring cotton lint y.eld per unit of rainfall. our goal is.to collect rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon s.lection of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the cos. of us.ng, for example, a tipping bucket-ty.e rain gauge would be too expens.ve and thus.s.arched for an alternative method. We s.lected an all-in-one commercially.available weather s.ation;hereafter, referred to as.a Pers.nal Weather s.ation (PWs. that is.both wireles. and s.lar powered. our objective was.to evaluate average meas.rements.of rainfall obtained with the PWs.and to compare thes. to meas.rements.obtained with an automatic weather s.ation (AWs.. For this.purpos., we ins.alled four PWs.deploy.d within 20 m of the Plant s.res. and Water cons.rvation Meteorological Tower that was.us.d as.our AWs. located at Us.A-ARs.c.opping s.0}tems.Res.arch Laboratory. Lubbock, TX. In addition, we meas.red and compared hourly.average values.of s.ort-wave irradiance (Rs.b>gs.b>), air temperature (Ts.b>airs.b>) and relative humidity.(RH), and wind s.eed (Ws., and calculated values.of dewpoint temperature (Ts.b>dews.b>). This.comparis.n was.done over a 242-day.period (1 oc.ober 2022-31 May.2023) and res.lts.indicated that there was.no s.atis.ical difference in meas.rements.of rainfall between the PWs.and AWs. Hourly.average values.of Rs.b>gs.b> meas.red with the PWs.and AWs.agreed on clear day., but PWs.meas.rements.were higher on c.oudy.day.. There was.no s.atis.ical difference between PWs.and AWs.hourly.average meas.rements.of Ts.b>airs.b>, RH, and calculated Ts.b>dews.b>. Hourly.average meas.rements.of Rs.b>gs.b> and Ws.were more variable. We concluded that the PWs.we s.lected will provide adequate values.of rainfall and other weather variables.to meet our goal of evaluating dry.and cotton lint y.eld per unit rainfall.

Background: Violence agains. women has.become an international public health and human rights.is.ue in recent decades. The violence s.ffered by.s.x workers.is.of little interes. for res.arch, y.t it cons.itutes.a major health and s.fety.problem. We propos. to as.es. the extent of the phenomenon of gender-bas.d violence (GBV) among s.x workers.(s.s. in the city.of Bangui in the cAR. Methodology. This.is.a des.riptive c.os.-s.ctional epidemiological s.udy.covering the period from July.to oc.ober 2021 carried out among s.s.in Bangui, the capital of the cAR. Given that the s.s.as.ociation had only.159 members.in Bangui, an exhaus.ive s.mpling was.retained. Were included in the s.udy. any.s. pres.nt during the data collection period and having given their written cons.nt. The parameters.s.udied were s.c.o-demographic characteris.ics. age, s.x, res.dence, level of education, marital s.atus. and characteris.ics.linked to violence: the notion of violence during their profes.ional activity. the ty.e of violence, the declaration and the declaration if neces.ary. the res.ons. and management of this.violence. The data collected was.analy.ed us.ng Epi info vers.on 7 s.ftware. Res.lts. of the 159 s.s.that counted the as.ociation, 108 had been included. The average age was.27.0 y.ars.with extremes.of 14 and 46 y.ars. The age groups.of 25 to 34 y.ars.were the mos. repres.nted (43.5%). Fifty.s.x s.s.(51.9%) had reached the s.condary.level. Unemploy.d s.s.were in the majority.at 74.1%;s.xty.s.x (66) s.s.in our s.mple (61.1%) had already.been victims.of violence during the exercis. of their activity.s.xual violence was.the mos. repres.nted (28.5%) followed by.verbal violence (22.4%). s.xty.eight (62.9%) wanted to s.op the profes.ional activity.of s.s.and 93.1% would accept another income-generating activity.in place of s.x work. conclus.on: It is.neces.ary.to s.pervis. s.s.and protect them within the framework of res.ect for human rights. rather than criminalizing them and the exploit

New neurons.are integrated into the circuitry.of the olfac.ory.bulb throughout the lifes.an in the mamma- lian brain--including in humans. Thes. new neurons.are born in the s.bventricular zone and s.bs.quently.mature as.they.are guided over long dis.ances.via the ros.ral migratory.s.ream through mechanis.s.we are only.jus. beginning to unders.and. Regeneration after brain injury.is.very.limited, and although s.me neuroblas.s.from the ros.ral migratory.s.ream will leave the path and migrate toward cortical les.on s.tes. this.neuronal replacement is.generally.not s.s.ained and therefore does.not provide enough new neurons.to alleviate functional deficits. Us.ng newly.dis.overed mic.otis.ue engineering techniques. we have built the firs. s.lf-contained, implantable cons.ructs.that mimic the architecture and function of the ros.ral migratory.s.ream. This.engineered mic.otis.ue emulates.the dens. cord-like bundles.of as.rocy.ic s.mata and proces.es.that are the hallmark anatomical feature of the glial tube. As.s.ch, our living mic.otis.ue-en- gineered ros.ral migratory.s.ream can s.rve as.an in vitro tes. bed for unlocking the s.crets.of neuroblas. migration and maturation, and may.potentially.s.rve as.a living trans.lantable cons.ruct derived from a patient＇s.own cells.that can redirect their own neuroblas.s.into les.on s.tes.for s.s.ained neuronal replace- ment following brain injury.or neurodegenerative dis.as..
