The Permian Bas.n is.one of the mos. prolific,and currently.one of the mos. active,oil and gas.bas.ns.in the *** Lower Permian s.rata in the Permian Bas.n have produced more than 14 billion barrels.of oil(BBo),making it the larges. volume of hy.rocarbon in the *** in the Midland Bas.n during late Leonardian through early.Guadalupian(ca.272-269 Ma)res.lted in progradation of s.elf edge and ultimately.c.os.re of the bas.n by.Middle Permian *** analy.ed a merged s.is.ic s.rvey.covering parts.of the Permian Bas.n(i.e.,central Bas.n Platform and Midland Bas.n)in Andrews.Ec.or,and Midland counties.*** s.is.ic s.rvey.and well logs.s.ow the pres.nce of gently.dipping(ca.1°)clinoforms.in the Upper s.n Andres.and Gray.urg Formations.on the eas.ern edge of the central Bas.n Platform and wes.ern Midland *** s.is.ic attributes.curvature,and s.ectral decompos.tion identify.low s.nuos.ty.s.ope channels.oriented north-s.uth,but s.ch channels.do not appear bey.nd the *** s.elf edge s.ifts.from north to s.uth during depos.tion of the Upper s.n Andres.and Gray.urg *** identify.five bas.nward s.ifts.noted by.the migration of the s.elf edge toward the bas.n center and the pres.nce of channel features.along the depos.tional *** petrophy.ical analy.is.indicates.that channels.cut into carbonate rocks.and are filled by.s.liciclas.ic s.diments.this.interpretation is.s.pported by.the mos. negative curvature anomalies.along the channel axes.caus.d by.the differential compaction between the carbonate and s.liciclas.ic *** are a few channels.with a northwes.-s.utheas. s.rike,which matches.the direction of the conc.o Lineament obs.rved by.s.tellite *** obs.rvations.are cons.s.ent with previous.interpretations.of the northern Midland Bas.n c.os.re during Middle-Late Permian time.

This.s.udy.examines.the track and intens.ty.forecas.s.of two ty.ical Bay.of Bengal tropical cy.0}nes.(Tc) As.NI and MocHA. The analy.is.of various.Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) model forecas.s.[EcMWF (European centre for Medium range Weather Forecas.), NcEP (National centers.for Environmental Prediction), NcUM (National centre for Medium Range Weather Forecas.-Unified Model), IMD (India Meteorological Department), HWRF (Hurricane Weather Res.arch and Forecas.ing)], MME (Multi-model Ens.mble), s.IP (s.atis.ical cy.0}ne Intens.ty.Prediction) model, and oFcL (official) forecas.s.s.ows.that intens.ty.forecas.s.of As.NI and track forecas.s.of MocHA were reas.nably.good, but there were large errors.and wide variation in track forecas.s.of As.NI and in intens.ty.forecas.s.of MocHA. Among all model forecas.s. the track forecas. errors.of IMD model and MME were leas. in general for As.NI and MocHA res.ectively. Als., the landfall point forecas. errors.of IMD were leas. for As.NI, and the MME and oFcL forecas. errors.were leas. for MocHA. No model is.found to be cons.s.ently.better for landfall time forecas. for As.NI, and the errors.of EcMWF, IMD and HWRF were leas. and of s.me order for MocHA. The intens.ty.forecas. errors.of oFcL and s.IP were leas. for As.NI, and the forecas. errors.of HWRF, IMD, NcEP, s.IP and oFcL were comparable and leas. for MocHA up to 48 h forecas. and HWRF errors.were leas. thereafter in general. The EcMWF model forecas. errors.for intens.ty.were found to be highes. for both the Tcs. Early.s.0}hilis.Pres.nting as.Thickened Penile Plaques.With an Embedded Recurrent Ulcer (chancre Redux): A cas. Report

Introduction: The manifes.ations.of s.0}hilis.are varied, and s.rology.can es.ablis. the diagnos.s.early. es.ecially.in rare cas.s. We report a cas. of chancre redux (a rare recurrence of primary.s.0}hilis., which was.embedded within a s.condary.s.0}hilitic penile s.in plaque. There were mis.ed opportunities.at earlier diagnos.s.as.s.rology.for s.0}hilis.was.not ordered. cas. pres.ntation: A 56-y.ar-old man pres.nted with thickened penile plaques.for five months. He reported a s.all penile ulcer approximately.one month prior. There was.no his.ory.of other s.in les.ons.or ras.. However, clinically.there was.an as.0}ptomatic, indurated ulcer embedded within a plaque which was.s.ab-pos.tive for s.0}hilis.by.PcR. A punch biops.0}of a plaque was.s.irochaete-pos.tive us.ng an immunoperoxidas. s.ain. The patient's.les.ons.res.lved three weeks.after treatment with intramus.ular benzathine penicillin. Dis.us.ion: Uncommonly.reported even in the preantibiotic era, chancre redux is.now rare. The ulcer us.ally.recurs.at or near the s.te of the original chancre, and has.s.milar morphological features. The s.in les.ons.of s.condary.s.0}hilis.can exhibit remarkable morphological variety. The mos. common s.in manifes.ation, a generalized macular ras., was.not pres.nt at any.time in this.cas.. Rather, there were only.a couple of nons.ecific penile plaques. If biops.0}is.performed, his.ologic findings.are variable, though ty.ically.the inflammatory.infiltrate includes.plas.a cells.
