For the aim of synthesis of the carbon-iodine compound, the preparation of iodin e-included carbon using RF plasma CVD was studied. Iodine-included carbon was sy nthesized on Si substrate using ICP type RF plasma CVD apparatus. C2H5OH and I2 dissolved C2H5OH was used as reactant gases. As a result, surface morphologies o f Iodine included carbon films showed flat surfaces for each samples. On the str ucture of films estimated by Raman spectroscopy, amorphous carbon was recognized . And I2 peaks were observed in XPS spectra. As a result of friction test, frict ion coefficient of the sample growth with C2H5OH showed about 0.45. On the other hand, that of the sample with I2-C2H5OH showed about 0.3 and decrease of fricti on coefficient was recognized. Iodine inclusion for carbon materials can be achi eved by RF plasma CVD using an I2-C2H5OH reactant. the coefficient of iodine-inc luded carbon showed lower than of without iodine

the splat foils of Al-Sm alloys with 0.04-0.06mm in thickness were made by hammeranvil technique. the estimated cooling rute was 106K/ order of magnitude. the extended solid solubility of Sm in α-Al reached 0.5at. % Sm. the intermediate phase in the rapidlysolidified Al-Sm alloys is Al11Sm3 phase, which is stable only at temperatures above 1339K in equilibrium state and retained to ambient temperature as a metastable phase, whereas the equlibrium intermediate phase, Al3Sm, was restricted to occur.

A simple constitutive model,called semi-implicit model,for cyclic loading is proposed for steel materials used for structures such as building frames in civil *** constitutive model is implemented in the E-Simulator,which is a software package for large-scale seismic response *** constitutive relation is defined in an algorithmic manner based on the piecewise linear combined isotropic-kinematic *** rules are used for the first and subsequent loading states to incorporate characteristics such as yield plateau and Bauschinger effect of rolled mild steel *** optimization method is also presented for parameter identification from the results of cyclic and monotonic loading ***,the proposed model is readily applicable to practical elastoplastic analysis of building *** of the model is demonstrated in an example of a cantilever subjected to various types of cyclic loading.

In this paper, the evaluation of stress intensity factor of plane crack problems for orthotropic plate of equal-parameter is investigated using a fractal two-level finite element method （F2LFEM）. the general solution of an orthotropic crack problem is obtained by assimilating the problem with isotropic crack problem, and is employed as the global interpolation function in F2LFEM. In the neighborhood of crack tip of the crack plate, the fractal geometry concept is introduced to achieve the similar meshes having similarity ratio less than one and generate an infinitesimal mesh so that the relationship between the stiffness matrices of two adjacent layers is equal. A large number of degrees of freedom around the crack tip are transformed to a small set of generalized coordinates. Numerical examples show that this method is efficient and accurate in evaluating the stress intensity factor （SIF）.

the structure and behavior of rotating stall cell were experimentally clarified in a diagonal flow fan. the specific-speed of the fan was 1140 （r/min, m^3/min, m）, and the total pressure-rise coefficient at design flow-rate was 0.345. the static pressure on outer casing wall and the total pressure at rotor inlet and outlet were measured using a high response pressure transducer. the measured data were processed by the use of DPLA technique, and the structure and behavior of rotating stall cell were obtained. As a result, the stall cell extent for circumferential and spanwise direction and the pressure distributions inside stall cell were clarified. the details of stall cell propagation were also shown.

Proeutectoid ferrite with carbon content xo precipitating from austenite in a multicomponent steel at temperature t is supposed to be equivalent to proeutectoid ferrite with the same carbon content precipitating from austenite in Fe-C binary system at temperature t'.is described as the temperature difference of proeutectiod ferrite formation, and can be calculated from the Fe-X diagrams and the equilibrium temperature A3. By introducing tf and basing on the thermodynamic model for Fe-C binary alloy, the driving force for phase transformation from austenite to proeutectoid ferrite in multicomponent steels has been successfully calculated. through the Johnson-Mehl equation and using the data hem known ttt diagrams, the relationship between the chemical composition and the intedecial edenly packeter as well as activation energy for proeutectoid ferrite formation can be calculated. the starting curves of proeutectoid ferritic transformation calculated in this way in some hypo-proeutectoid structural steels agree well with the erperimental data.

Low activation materials have to be developed toward fusion demonstrationreactors. Ferritic steel, vanadium alloy and SiC/SiC composite are candidate materials of the firstwall, vacuum vessel and blanket components, respectively. Although changes of mechanical-thermalproperties owing to neutron irradiation have been investigated so far, there is little data for theplasma material interactions, such as fuel hydrogen retention and erosion. In the present study,deuterium retention and physical sputtering of low activation ferritic steel, F82H, wereinvestigated by using deuterium ion irradiation apparatus. After a ferritic steel sample wasirradiated by 1.7 keV D^+ ions, the weight loss was measured to obtain the physical sputteringyield. the sputtering yield was 0.04, comparable to that of stainless steel. In order to obtain theretained amount of deuterium, technique of thermal desorption spectroscopy (tDS) was employed to theirradiated sample. the retained deuterium desorbed at temperature ranging from 450 K to 700 K, inthe forms of DHO, D_2, D_2O and hydrocarbons. Hence, the deuterium retained can be reduced by bakingwith a relatively low temperature. the fluence dependence of retained amount of deuterium wasmeasured by changing the ion fluence. In the ferritic steel without mechanical polish, the retainedamount was large even when the fluence was low. In such a case, a large amount of deuterium wastrapped in the surface oxide layer containing O and C. When the fluence was large, the thickness ofsurface oxide layer was reduced by the ion sputtering, and then the retained amount in the oxidelayer decreased. In the case of a high fluence, the retained amount of deuterium became comparableto that of ferritic steel with mechanical polish or SS 316 L, and one order of magnitude smallerthan that of graphite. Supposing carbon contents of ferrite phases in pearlite precipitating from austenite in multicomponent steel at temperature t and in Fe-C ystem at t' are the same the pearlite formation temperature diference, can be calculated from the FeX phase diagrams and the equilibrium temperature Al. Using tp and Fe-C binary thermodynamic model, the driving forces for phase transformation from austenite to pearlite in multicomponent steels have been successfully calculated. through the combination of simplified Zener and Hillert's model for pearlite growth with Johnson-Mehl equation, using data from known ttt diagrams, the interfacial energy parameter and activation energy for pearlite formation can be determined and expressed as functions of chemical composition in steels by regression analysis. the calculated starting curves of pearlitic transformation in some commercial steels agree well with the experimental data.

Starch from cereal grains,pulse grains,and tubers is a major energy substrate in swine rations constituting up to 55%of the *** pigs,starch digestion is initiated by salivary and then pancreaticα-amylase,and has as final step the digestion of disaccharides by the brush-border enzymes in the small intestine that produce monosaccharides(glucose)for *** starch(RS)is the proportion of starch that escapes the enzymatic digestion and absorption in the small *** undigested starch reaches the distal small intestine and hindgut for microbial fermentation,which produces short-chain fatty acids(SCFA)for *** in turn,influence microbial ecology and gut health of *** fermentative metabolites exert their benefits on gut health through promoting growth and proliferation of enterocytes,maintenance of intestinal integrity and thus immunity,and modulation of the microbial community in part by suppressing the growth of pathogenic bacteria while selectively enhancing beneficial ***,RS has the potential to confer prebiotic effects and may contribute to the improvement of intestinal health in pigs during the post-weaning *** these benefits to the well-being of pigs,RS has a contradictory effect due to lower energetic efficiency of fermented *** starch absorption *** varying amount and type of RS interact differently with the digestion process along the gastrointestinal tract affecting its energy efficiency and host physiological responses including feed intake,energy metabolism,and feed *** of research indicate that the use of RS as prebiotic may improve gut health and thereby,reduce the incidence of post-weaning diarrhea(PWD)and associated *** review summarizes our current knowledge on the effects of RS on microbial ecology,gut health and growth performance in pigs.
