Dear Editor,R-spondin3(RSPO3)is essential for vascular development and *** RSPO3-knockout embryos revealed severe vascular defects in the placenta(Aoki et al.2007).In both Xenopus and murine embryos,RSPO3 KO led to significant vascular defects(Kazanskaya et al.2008)and embryonic death(Kazanskaya et al.2008).In the placenta,RSPO3 could promote vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)expression(Kazanskaya et al.2008).RSPO3 is a ligand of low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6(LRP6)and leucine-rich repeat G protein-coupled receptor 4(LGR4)to form a multiple ligands-receptors-cluster with Wnt and frizzled(FzD),thereby activating and amplifying downstreamβ-catenin signaling(in and Yoon 2012;Tocci et al.2020).

Accurate prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)of lithium-ion batteries(liBs)is pivotal for enhancing their operational efficiency and safety in diverse *** operational advantages,precise RUL predictions can also expedite advancements in cell design and fast-charging methodologies,thereby reducing cycle testing *** artificial neural networks(ANNs)showing promise in this domain,determining the best-fit architecture across varied datasets and optimization approaches remains *** study introduces a machine learning framework for systematically evaluating multiple ANN *** only 30%of a training dataset derived from 124 liBs subjected to various charging regimes,an extensive evaluation is conducted across 7 ANN *** architecture is optimized in terms of hyperparameters using this framework,a process that spans 145 days on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 *** optimizing each model to its best configuration,a fair and standardized basis for comparing their RUL predictions is *** research also examines the impact of different cycling windows on predictive *** a stratified partitioning technique underscores the significance of consistent dataset representation across ***,using only the features derived from individual charge–discharge cycles,our top-performing model,based on data from just 40 cycles,achieves a mean absolute percentage error of 10.7%.

Extremely small-sized iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs) are of great interest in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) due to their biosafety as an alternative to clinical gadolinium(Ⅲ) complexes-based contrast *** when the particle size is less than 10 nm,it has strong diffusion ability and deep penetration distance in tumor *** doping can significantly enhance the T_(1)contrast effect of nanoparticles by regulating the surface exposed ***,the nucleation and growth processes of multi-component synthesis systems are complex and difficult to be accurately controlled,leading to great challenges in the synthesis of ultra-small-sized nanoparticles with different components and ***,extremely smallsized superparamagnetic gadolinium-doped iron oxide nanoparticles(GdIONPs,Gd_(x)Fe_(3-x)O_(4) NPs) with adjustable doping amount and controllable size in the range of 3.5-7.5 nm were synthesized by thermal ***,as-synthesized GdIONPs were surface modified with a highly water-soluble and biocompatible carboxyl-polyethylene glycol-phosphoric acid ligand with high binding ***_(0.65)Fe_(2.35)O_(4) NPs exhibited very high r_(1) relaxivity of 10.6 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of all metal concentrations and 49.0 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of gadolinium alone,respectively,3 and 14 times higher than clinical T_(1) contrast agents(Gd-DTPA).GdIONPs can continuously obtain high resolution images of blood vessels,and can be used as an efficient and multifunctional contrast agent for MR T_(1)*** stable and efficient doping strategy provides an easy and effective method to individually optimize the magnetic properties of complex oxides and their relaxation effects for a variety of biomedical applications.

Spinel MnCo_(2)O_(4) is a promising energy storage candidate as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries owing to synergistic effects of two intrinsic solid-state redox ***,low conductivity,poor rate capacity and rapid capacity fading have seriously impaired its practical *** overcome the inferiorities,urchin-like MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C core–shell nanowire arrays have been fabricated directly within a porous copper current collector via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a chemical vapor deposition carbonization *** a typical nanowire,the core is composed of interconnected MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanoparticles and the shell shows as a thin amorphous carbon *** integrated MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu structure could act as working anodes without using additives or polymer *** MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu possesses slightly longer li-ion insertion/desertion pathway than that of MnCo_(2)O_(4)/Cu,the carbon shell could effectively prevent the pulverization of MnCo_(2)O_(4) and lower down charge transfer resistance and actively participate in li-ion *** rearrangement of carbon atoms during lithiation/delithiation cycling could inhibit the formation of passive solid electrolyte interphase *** a result,the MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu electrode presents superior rate capacity(600 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1)) and better stability(797 mAh·g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA·g^(−1)).The excellent reversible li ion storage capacity,cycling stability and rate capacity endow MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu great potential as stable and high output integrated anode materials in li-ion batteries.

Ground movements due to tunneling are becoming increasingly critical as buildings are located around construction *** study proposes a new combined reinforcement method using a foundation grouting oblique pipe *** former improves the bearing capacity of the subsoil,and the latter blocks the transmission of soil deformation,which weakens the influence of construction during overlapped tunnel *** on this new method,a case study of the shield tunneling response to an old building in line 6 of China’s Chengdu Metro is ***,three-dimensional numerical models without reinforcement,traditional foundation grouting reinforcement,and the new combined reinforcement schemes were *** numerical simulation performance was verified using a set of field instrumentation data,which demonstrated that the old building response to the overlapped tunnels was under control,and the maximum deformation,angular distortion,and principal tensile strain of the building were 5.25 mm,5.1010–6 rad/m,and 0.0081%,*** with the traditional reinforcement scheme,the deformation,angular distortion,and principal tensile strain in the combined reinforcement scheme were reduced by 54.78%,71.02%,and 70.22%,*** results have important implications for the design and construction of shield tunnels and their response to old buildings.

Objective Ferritin,initially acting as an iron-storage protein,was found to be associated with metabolic *** study was designed to investigate the association between serum ferritin and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES)of the United State of *** A cross-sectional study was conducted,enrolling a total of 2145 participants from the NHANES in the 2017–2018 *** steatosis and liver fibrosis were assessed by ultrasound images and several non-invasive *** regression analysis was conducted to determine the associations between serum ferritin concentration and MAFLD and liver *** The analysis revealed that participants with higher serum ferritin levels(Q3 and Q4 groups)had a higher prevalence of MAFLD than those with the lowest serum ferritin levels[Q3 vs.Q1:OR=2.17(1.33,3.53),Pliver index(Fli);Q4 vs.Q1:OR=3.13(1.91,5.13),Pli].Additionally,participants with the highest serum ferritin levels(Q4 group)displayed a higher prevalence of liver fibrosis[Q4 vs.Q1:OR=2.59(1.19,5.62),Pliver stiffness measurement;OR=5.06(1.12,22.94),Pliver fibrosis in *** serum ferritin levels combined with diabetes are important risk factors for liver fibrosis.

Iron-metal clusters are crucial in a variety of critical biological and material systems,including metalloenzymes,catalysts,and magnetic storage ***,a synthetic high-nuclear iron cluster has been absent due to the extreme difficulty in stabilizing species with direct iron-iron *** this work,we have synthesized,crystallized,and characterized a（Tp*）4W4S12(Fe@Fe12) cluster(Tp*=tris（3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl）borate（1-）),which features a rare trideca-nuclear,icosahedral[Fe@Fe12] cluster core with direct multicenter iron-iron bonding between the interstitial iron（Fei） and peripheral irons（Fep）,as well as Fep…Fepferromagnetic *** chemistry studies reveal that the stability of the cluster arises from the 18-electron shell-closing of the [Fe@Fe12]16+core,assisted by its bonding interactions with the peripheral tridentate [（Tp*）WS3]4-ligands which possess both S→Fe donation and spin-polarized Fe-Wσ *** ground-state electron spin is theoretically predicted to be S=32/2 for the *** existence of low oxidation-state（OS～+1.23） iron in this compound may find interesting applications in magnetic storage,spintronics,redox chemistry,and cluster catalysis.

Modulating Pt surfaces through the introduction of lattice distortion emerges as immensely effective strategy that enhances the kinetics of alkaline hydrogen evolution and oxidation *** this study,we fabricated lattice-distorted Pt wrinkled nanoparticles(LD-Pt WNPs)for efficient hydrogen *** LD-Pt WNPs not only outperform the Pt/C benchmark in hydrogen oxidation reaction,achieving an excellent mass-specific current of 968.5 mA·mg_(Pt)^(-1)(9 times that of Pt/C),but also demonstrate outstanding hydrogen evolution reaction activity with a small overpotential of 58.0 *** experiments and density functional theory calculations reveal that lattice defects introduce an abundance of unsaturated coordination atoms while modifying the d-band center of *** dual effect optimizes the binding strength of crucial H and OH intermediates,leading to a significant reduction in the energy barrier of the reaction bottleneck,commonly known as the Volmer *** work unveils a fresh viewpoint on projecting and developing high efficiency electrocatalysts through defect engineering.
