Contrast in vulnerability to freezing-induced xylem embolism contributes to divergence in spring phenology between diffuse-and ring-porous temperate trees

Background:The spring phenology and growth strategy of temperate tree species can be strongly linked to their sensitivity to frosts,which deserve more profound investigations under the background of climate warming particularly considering the advancement of spring phenology as well as the increase in frequency and intensity of spring cold ***:Spring phenologies,stem radial growth characteristics,frost sensitivity of leaves and stem hydraulic systems were studied in five diffuse-porous and five ring-porous temperate tree species under a common garden ***:The results showed that the spring leaf phenology of the diffuse-porous species was one to two weeks earlier than that of the ring-porous *** ring-porous species had significantly higher stem hydraulic conductivity than the diffuse-porous species(1.81 and 0.95 kg·m^(-1)·s^(-1)·MPa^(-1),P<0.05)but were more vulnerable to freeze-thaw induced xylem embolism than the *** a simulated freeze-thaw event,the average percentage loss of hydraulic conductivity in the current year shoots increased from 26.0%(native embolism)to 86.7%in the ring-porous species,while it only increased from 21.3%to 38.3%in the diffuse-porous *** spring phenology was clearly correlated with vulnerability to freeze-thaw induced embolism,with the more vulnerable ring-porous species exhibited substantially delayed phenology to reduce risks of catastrophic hydraulic dysfunction during spring ***,ring-porous species can offset the postponed onset of growth and gained even higher annual growth due to significantly higher hydraulic efficiency and leaf gas exchange ***:Contrasts between ring-porous and diffuse-porous species in resistance to freeze-thaw induced embolism suggest that they face different selective pressures from early spring frosts,which may at least be partially responsible for their divergence in spring phenology and growth strategy and can potentially lead to di

Change of hs-CRP,sVCAM-1,NT-proBNP levels in patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension after therapy with magnesium sulfate and nifudipine

Objective:To investigate the change of the hs-CRP,sVC AM-1,NT-proBNP levels of the patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension(PIH) ***:A total of 200 patients with PIH were divided into mild,moderate and severe group,and 50 healthy pregnancy patients served as the control *** serum sVCAM-1 levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,hs-CRP were detected by immunity transmission turbidity,and NT-proBNP levels were determined by the colloidal gold *** were treated with magnesium sulfate and nifudipine and the contrastive analysis was performed before and after *** the pathological changes in placental of PIH patients were delected by hematoxylin-eosin staining at the same ***:The hs-CRP,sVCAM-l,NT-proBNP levels of patients in the mild, moderate and severe PHI group were significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The hs-CKP,sVCAM-l,NT-proBNP levels in the severe group were significantly higher than the mild group and the moderate group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The hsCRP,sVCAM-l,NT-proBNP of the moderate group were significantly higher than the mild group(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between hs-CRP,sVCAM-1,NT-proBNP expression levels and the degree of the *** expression of hs-CRP,sVCAM-1,NT-proBNP levels of the moderate and the severe group were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The number of placental villi and interstitial blood vessel in the moderate and severe PIH group were significantly less than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:The increased levels of serum hs-CRP,sVCAM-1, NT-proBNP may be involved in the process of vascular endothelial cell injury of the PIH,and the hs-CRP,sVCAM-1,NT-proBNP can be used as the auxiliary index for diagnosis of PIH and determination of PIH severity.

Recently circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)materials have attracted significant *** reversible dynamic property to these materials has been a key focus in cutting-edge fields,such as in high-level information ***,we provided a novel and general strategy involving handednessselective filtration and ground-state chiral self-recovery(CSR)in double film system to address this *** on this strategy,we achieved CPL switch through the reversible modulation of ground-state chirality including absorption and scattering circular dichroism(CD)signals over the full UV-visible wavelength range(365-700 nm)in a single azobenzene polymer(PAzo)*** importantly,by flexibly changing the type of fluorescent films,it is convenient to achieve general excited-state CSR,that is reversible switching of full-color including ideal white(CIE coordinate(0.33,0.33)),as well as room-temperature phosphorescent *** these CPL signals without almost any intensity decay after three cycles of onand-off *** results indicated that the trans-cis isomerization and ordered rearrangement of azobenzene units in PAzo film were the fundamental reasons for realizing CPL ***,based on this system we achieved dynamic visual encryption and decryption process including multiple decryption *** study provides an effective method for constructing a universally applicable chiroptical switch in excited state.

Herein,a turn-on fluorescent probe for the detection of lead ions was developed using 7-diethylaminocoumarin as the fluorophore and dibenzo-18-crown-6 as the recognition *** response performance to lead ions was systematically *** probe showed specific selectivity and high sensitivity to lead ions,with fluorescence intensity at 496 nm increasing linearly with lead ion concentration(R^(2)=0.995)over the range of 1.0×10^(−7)–1.0×10^(−6)mol/L,and an LOD of 11.4 nmol/***’s plot revealed that the probe forms a 1:1 stoichiometry complex with lead ions during the recognition ***,the sensing mechanism of the probe was confirmed by density functional theory calculations,indicating that the recognition mechanism is based on photoinduced electron transfer(PET).The introduction of lead ions blocks PET,resulting in fluorescence ***,it was applied in the detection of practical water samples and bioimaging,demonstrating high application value in the field of chemosensors.

Carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear

Track irregularity from rail alternate side wear is manifested as uneven rail wear waveforms alternating in the left and right rails with equal intervals,which will cause carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles and greatly influences the passenger *** this work,the carbody sway behaviour and mechanism due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear and possible solutions to this issue were studied by the field testing and numerical calculation ***,the carbody sway of an urban rail transit train is introduced with full-scale field tests,through which the rail alternate side wear is characterized and the formatted track irregularity are ***,multibody vehicle dynamic models are developed to reproduce the carbody sway behaviour induced by the track irregularity from the rail alternate side *** creep forces acting on the wheel and rail are preliminarily discussed to study the influence of the carbody sway on the wear of the wheel flange and the rail ***,some potential solutions,*** the damping ratio of carbody rigid mode and rail grinding,are proposed to relieve this *** is concluded that an increased damping ratio of the carbody mode can alleviate the carbody sway and wheel–rail interactions,while properly maintaining track conditions can improve the vehicle performance.

Ozone exposure and cardiovascular disease: A narrative review of epidemiology evidence and underlying mechanisms

Ozone (O3) poses a significant global public health concern as it exerts adverse effects on human cardiovascular health. Nevertheless, there remains a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding the relationships between O3 exposure and the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), as well as the underlying biological mechanisms. To address this knowledge gap, this narrative review meticulously summarizes the existing epidemiological evidence, susceptibility, and potential underlying biological mechanisms linking O3 exposure with CVD. An increasing body of epidemiological studies has demonstrated that O3 exposure heightens the incidence and mortality of CVD, including specific subtypes such as ischemic heart disease, hypertension, and heart failure. Certain populations display heightened vulnerability to these effects, particularly children, the elderly, obese individuals, and those with pre-existing conditions. Proposed biological mechanisms suggest that O3 exposure engenders respiratory and systemic inflammation, oxidative stress, disruption of autonomic nervous and neuroendocrine systems, as well as impairment of coagulation function, glucose, and lipid metabolism. Ultimately, these processes contribute to vascular dysfunction and the development of CVD. However, some studies have reported the absence of associations between O3 and CVD, or even potentially protective effects of O3. Inconsistencies among the literature may be attributed to inaccurate assessment of personal O3 exposure levels in epidemiologic studies, as well as confounding effects stemming from co-pollutants and temperature. Consequently, our findings underscore the imperative for further research, including the development of reliable methodologies for assessing personal O3 exposure, exploration of O3 exposure's impact on cardiovascular health, and elucidation of its biological mechanisms.

Anti-HBV effect of TAT-HBV targeted ribonuclease

AIM: To prepare and purify TAT-HBV targeted ribonuclease fusion protein, evaluate its transduction activity and investigate its effect on HBV replication in 2.2.15 ***: The prokaryotic expression vector pTAT containing TR gene was used in transforming E. coli BL21(DE3) LysS and TR was expressed with the induction of IPTG. The TAT-TR fusion protein was purified using Ni-NTA-agrose and PD-10 desalting columns, and analyzed by SDSPAGE. Transduction efficiency of TAT-TR was detected with immunofluorescence assay and the concentration of HBeAg in the supernatant of the 2.2.15 cells was determined via solid-phase radioimmunoassay (spRIA). MTT assay was used to detect the cytotoxicity of ***: The SDS-PAGE showed that the TAT-TR fusion protein was purified successfully, and the purity of TAT-TR was 90 %. The visualization of TAT-TR by immunofiuorescence assay indicated its high efficiency in transducing 2.2.15 *** result suggests that TAT-TR could inhibit the replication of HBV effectively, it didn′t affect cell growth and had no ***: TAT-TR possesses a significant anti-HBV activity and the preparation of TAT-TR fusion protein has laid the foundation for the use of TR in the therapeutic trial of HBV infection.

目的观察产前盆底肌功能锻炼对阴道分娩及盆底肌张力的影响. 方法回顾性分析阴道分娩的90例产妇临床资料,随机分为两组各45例.对照组采用常规产前准备,观察组在常规产前准备的基础上进行产前盆底肌功能锻炼.比较两组产妇的产程、分娩方式及盆底肌张力. 结果观察组产程明显短于对照组,观察组顺产率为93.3%、明显高于对照组的77.8%;观察组产妇分娩后的盆底肌张力明显优于对照组,组间差异均有统计学意义（P＜0.05）. 结论产前盆底肌功能锻炼有助于胎儿顺产和产妇产后康复.

目的:探讨应用小剂量肝素配伍舒喘灵治疗妊娠期子宫肌瘤红色变性的临床价值。方法:选择2002年5月～2008年1月该院产科19例妊娠合并子宫肌瘤红色变性患者,给予小剂量肝素配伍舒喘灵治疗,并对此19例患者进行随访的数据资料进行分析,同以往临床治疗方法相比较。结果:19例中有12例维持妊娠至足月行剖宫产术并肌瘤挖除术,4例足月妊娠发动宫缩后经阴分娩,3例于接近足月时发动宫缩,剖宫产2例,经阴分娩1例,新生儿均健康存活(100%)。结论:与以往妊娠合并子宫肌瘤红色变性先兆早产(流产)抑制宫缩保胎治疗相比较,小剂量肝素配伍舒喘灵治疗妊娠期子宫肌瘤红色变性,效果明显,仅需3～7天即可从根本上控制先兆早产(流产),使健康存活儿出生率明显增高,达到100%健康存活率。同时没有应用硫酸镁,减少了孕妇因长时间输液导致的不适感,值得临床推广应用。
