Development of high-power microwave mechanical integrated continuous device

This article introduces a high-power microwave mechanical integrated continuous mining device, which can achieve synchronous cutting of hard rocks by microwave and machinery. The device includes a cutting system, a rotary translation system, a loading system, a high-power microwave system, and a control and monitoring system. The technology of "master-slave follow-up" disc cutter alternating side cutting of rock was proposed, which could improve the effectiveness of rock breaking. The integrated structure of a microwave-cut system was then proposed, and synchronous motion of the microwave-cut system and adjustment of the loading system could be realized. The automatic adjustment technology of the microwave working distance was developed to dynamically control the optimal microwave working distance. The basic functions of the equipment were verified by tests. By comparing the two types of disk cutters, it is found that the master-slave follow-up disk cutter can improve significantly the dust removal effect and rock breaking efficiency in rock breaking process versus the conventional large disc cutter. Cutting tests of slate with or without microwave were conducted using a master-slave follow-up disk cutter. The results show that the cutting patterns of slates change from intermittent chunks (without microwave irradiation) to persistent debris (with microwave irradiation), and the cutting speed is significantly improved (170%). The development of the device provides a scientific basis for changing the conventional mining technology of metal mines and realizing the mechanical continuous mining in hard metal mines. Phase separation of S-RNase promotes self-incompatibility in Petunia hybrida

Self-incompatibility(SI)is an intraspecific reproductive barrier widely present in *** SI system with the broadest occurrence in angiosperms is based on an S-RNase linked to a cluster of multiple S-locus F-box(SLF)genes found in the Solanaceae,Plantaginaceae,Rosaceae,and *** studies reveal that non-self S-RNase is degraded by the Skip Cullin F-box(SCF)SLF-mediated ubiquitin–proteasome system in a collaborative manner in Petunia,but how self-RNase functions largely remains ***,we show that S-RNases form S-RNase condensates(SRCs)in the self-pollen tube cytoplasm through phase separation and the disruption of SRC formation breaks SI in self-incompatible Petunia *** further find that the pistil SI factors of a small asparagine-rich protein HT-B and thioredoxin h together with a reduced state of the pollen tube all promote the expansion of SRCs,which then sequester several actin-binding proteins,including the actin polymerization factor PhABRACL,the actin polymerization activity of which is reduced by S-RNase in ***,we find that S-RNase variants lacking condensation ability fail to recruit PhABRACL and are unable to induce actin foci formation required for pollen tube growth *** together,our results demonstrate that phase separation of S-RNase promotes SI response in ***,revealing a new mode of S-RNase action.

SOX11 as a potential prognostic biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma linked to immune infiltration and ferroptosis

Objective: SOX11 is expressed in numerous malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinomas(HCC), but its oncogenic function has not been elucidated. Here, we performed a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis of the Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma(LIHC) dataset to investigate the function of SOX11 in ***: SOX11 expression data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO) were validated by immunohistochemistry(IHC). Co-expression, differential expression, and functional analyses utilized TCGA-LIHC, Timer 2.0, Metascape, GTEx, and Linked Omics databases. Associations with immune infiltration, ferroptosis, and immune checkpoint genes were assessed. Genetic changes were explored via CBio Portal. Logistic regression, receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC), Kaplan-Meier analysis, and nomogram modeling evaluated associations with HCC clinicopathological features. SOX11's impact on proliferation and migration was studied in HepG2 and Hu H7 cell ***: SOX11 was significantly elevated in HCC tumors compared to controls. SOX11-associated genes exhibited differential expression in pathways involving extracellular membrane ion channels. Significant associations were found between SOX11 levels, immune infiltration, ferroptosis, and immune checkpoint genes in HCC ***11 levels correlated with HCC stage, histologic grade, and tumor status, and independently predicted overall and disease-specific survival. SOX11 expression effectively distinguished between tumor and normal liver *** correlations highlighted a significant relationship between SOX11 and ferroptosis-associated *** SOX11 levels in HepG2 and Hu H7 cells resulted in reduced proliferation and ***: SOX11 was found to represent a promising biomarker within HCC diagnosis and prognosis together with being a possible drug-target.

The study of oxide heteroepitaxy has been hindered by the issues of misfit strain and substrate clamping,which impede both the optimization of performance and the acquisition of a fundamental understanding of oxide ***,however,the development of freestanding oxide membranes has provided a plausible solution to these substrate ***-crystalline functional oxide films can be released from their substrates without incurring significant damage and can subsequently be transferred to any substrate of *** paper discusses recent advancements in the fabrication,adjustable physical properties,and various applications of freestanding oxide perovskite ***,we present the primary strategies employed for the synthesis and transfer of these freestanding perovskite thin ***,we explore the main functionalities observed in freestanding perovskite oxide thin films,with special attention to the tunable functionalities and physical properties of these freestanding perovskite membranes under varying strain ***,we encapsulate three representative devices based on freestanding oxide ***,this review highlights the potential of freestanding oxide films for the study of novel functionalities and flexible electronics.

Transmissive reconfigurable metasurface enabling independent control of active and passive modules through weak coupling

Metasurfaces have demonstrated rich electromagnetic control capabilities and degrees of freedom in past years. As is well known, for passive metasurfaces, their functionalities cannot be further expanded accordingly once prototypes are established. Therefore, reconfigurable metasurfaces, utilizing active devices to replace geometric changes in passive structures, have received widespread attention, especially with the development of wireless communication recently. In reconfigurable metasurfaces, artificial meta-atoms are composed of active devices and passive structures combined together. However, these two modules are usually utilized as a whole due to the tight coupling of the active devices and the passive structures, which results in passive structures not receiving sufficient attention and being utilized as independent degrees of freedom. In this article, we propose the concept of weakly coupled reconfigurable metasurfaces in transmissive systems, enabling independent control of active and passive modules through weak coupling. As the proof of concept, a simple weakly coupled system is proposed, which can realize the transmission wavefront engineering through the geometric changes of meta-structures in passive mode, while achieving switching between transmission and reflection states in active mode, respectively. Our exploration lies in making use of the physical structure, which is easily neglected in traditional reconfigurable metasurface design, emphasizing the collaborative work of active and passive modules, exploring more available variables within the same aperture, and providing a potential solution for balancing functionality and resource consumption in practical applications.

Ant-nest-inspired porous structure for MXene composites with high-performance energy-storage and actuating multifunctions

Integrating energy-storage devices(supercapacitors)and shape-deformation devices(actuators)advances the miniaturization and multifunctional development of soft ***,soft robots necessitate supercapacitors with high energy-storage performance and actuators with excellent actuation ***,inspired by ant nests,we present a porous structure fabricated by MXene-graphene-methylcellulose(M-GMC)composite,which overcomes the self-stacking of MXene nanosheets and offers a larger specific surface *** porous structure provides more channels and active sites for electrolyte ions,resulting in high energy storage *** areal capacitance of the M-GMC electrode reaches up to 787.9 mF·cm^(−2),significantly superior to that of the pristine MXene electrode(449.1 mF·cm^(−2)).Moreover,the M-GMC/polyethylene bilayer composites with energy storage and multi-responsive actuation functions are *** M-GMC is used as the electrode and the polyethylene is used as the encapsulation layer of the quasi-solid-state ***,the actuators fabricated by the bilayer composites can be driven by light or low voltage(≤9 V).The maximum bending curvature is up to 5.11 cm^(−1).Finally,a smart gripper and a fully encapsulated smart integrated circuit based on the M-GMC/polyethylene are *** smart gripper enables programmable control with multi-stage *** applications realize the intelligence and miniaturization of soft *** ant-nest-inspired M-GMC composites would provide a promising development strategy for soft robots and smart integrated devices.

Relationship between the Stratospheric Arctic Vortex and Surface Air Temperature in the Midlatitudes of the Northern Hemisphere

It is known that different relationships exist between the strength and displacement of the stratospheric polar vortex(SPV),and the surface air temperature(SAT)patterns in Eurasia and North America,but the mechanisms behind these relationships remain unclear,especially on an interannual *** on empirical orthogonal function(EOF)analysis using NCEP reanalysis data over 1958–2018,this study attempts to ascertain the relationship between the SPV intensity and displacement over the Arctic and the SATs in the midlatitudes of the Northern *** results indicate that a strengthened SPV corresponds to an SAT increase in Eurasia and a decrease in eastern North America and *** the SPV is shifted towards Eurasia,however,a corresponding SAT increase occurs in both North America and Eurasia,with a larger increase in North America than in ***,a strengthened SPV tends to correspond to a positive North Atlantic Oscillation-like circulation in the troposphere with negative geopotential height(GH)anomalies in Greenland and eastern North American continent and positive GH anomalies to the north of 45°N in Eurasia,which corresponds to lower SATs in North America than in ***,when the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,it was accompanied by a positive Pacific/North American-like pattern with a deepened Aleutian low,which corresponds to the increasing SATs in North *** tropospheric circulation changes are related to the response of tropospheric planetary wave activity to the SPV.A strengthened SPV corresponds to the weakening of tropospheric planetary wave-1 waves,which is accompanied by a negative GH in North America but a positive GH in *** the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,the tropospheric planetary wave-1(-2)waves strengthened(weakened),and the combined effects of the planetary wave-1 and wave-2 waves would cause positive GH anomalies in both Eurasia and North America.

Variational quantum algorithms for scanning the complex spectrum of non-Hermitian systems

Solving non-Hermitian quantum many-body systems on a quantum computer by minimizing the variational energy is challenging as the energy can be ***,we propose a variational quantum algorithm for solving the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian by minimizing a type of energy variance,where zero variance can naturally determine the eigenvalues and the associated left and right ***,the energy is set as a parameter in the cost function and can be tuned to scan the whole spectrum efficiently by using a two-step optimization *** numerical simulations,we demonstrate the algorithm for preparing the left and right eigenstates,verifying the biorthogonal relations,as well as evaluating the *** also investigate the impact of quantum noise on our algorithm and show that its performance can be largely improved using error mitigation ***,our work suggests an avenue for solving non-Hermitian quantum many-body systems with variational quantum algorithms on near-term noisy quantum computers.
