Side-Channel Analysis for the Authentication Protocols of CDMA Cellular Networks

Time-division multiple access (TDMA) and code-division multiple access (CDMA) are two technologies used in digital cellular networks. The authentication protocols of TDMA networks have been proven to be vulnerable to side-channel analysis (SCA), giving rise to a series of powerful SCA-based attacks against unprotected subscriber identity module (SIM) cards. CDMA networks have two authentication protocols, cellular authentication and voice encryption (CAVE) based authentication protocol and authentication and key agreement (AKA) based authentication protocol, which are used in different phases of the networks. However, there has been no SCA attack for these two protocols so far. In this paper, in order to figure out if the authentication protocols of CDMA networks are sufficiently secure against SCA, we investigate the two existing protocols and their cryptographic algorithms. We find the side-channel weaknesses of the two protocols when they are implemented on embedded systems. Based on these weaknesses, we propose specific attack strategies to recover their authentication keys for the two protocols, respectively. We verify our strategies on an 8-bit microcontroller and a real-world SIM card, showing that the authentication keys can be fully recovered within a few minutes with a limited number of power measurements. The successful experiments demonstrate the correctness and the effectiveness of our proposed strategies and prove that the unprotected implementations of the authentication protocols of CDMA networks cannot resist SCA.

Exploiting the valley degrees of freedom as information carriers provides new opportunities for the development of *** transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)with broken space-inversion symmetry exhibit emerging valley pseudospins,making them ideal platforms for studying valley ***,intervalley scattering of different energy valleys limits the achievable degree of valley ***,we constructed WSe_(2)/yttrium iron garnet(YIG)heterostructures and demonstrated that the interfacial magnetic exchange effect on the YIG magnetic substrate can enhance valley polarization by up to 63%,significantly higher than that of a monolayer WSe_(2)on SiO_(2)/Si(11%).Additionally,multiple sharp exciton peaks appear in the WSe_(2)/YIG heterostructures due to the strong magnetic proximity effect at the magnetic-substrate interface that enhances exciton emission ***,under the effect of external magnetic field,the magnetic direction of the magnetic substrate enhances valley polarization,further demonstrating that the magnetic proximity effect regulates valley *** results provide a new way to regulate valley polarization and demonstrate the promising application of magnetic heterojunctions in magneto-optoelectronics.

Effects of polymorphic form and particle size of SiO_(2)fillers on the properties of SiO_(2)-PEEK composites

The effects of polymorphic form and particle size of SiO_(2)fillers on the dielectric,mechanical and thermal properties of SiO_(2)-Poly-etheretherketone(SiO_(2)-PEEK)composites were investigated in this *** low frequency(<10Hz)Debye-like dielectric dispersions could be observed for all *** dielectric permittivity at high frequencies of the composite exhibits little morphology or particle size-sensitive characteristics of the SiO_(2)*** the composites obtained in this case demonstrate the dielectric permittivities of~3.5 at high *** crystalline a-cristobalite filled composite exhibits lower dielectric loss and mechanical strength,but larger thermal expansion coefficient and thermal conductivity,compared with the similar particle sized amorphous SiO_(2)filled *** crystalline a-quartz filled composite demonstrates the lowest mechanical strength and high-est dielectric *** increase in particle size of the spherical fused silica fillers decreases the dielectric loss,while increases the thermal conductivity of the *** flexural strength of the composite reaches the maximum value of 113 MPa when the particle size of spherical SiO_(2)filler is~10μ*** packing by combining optimal amounts of differently sized spherical fused silica fillers leads to a substantial improvement of mechanical strength(153MPa)coupled with reasonable dielectric and thermal properties due to the synergic effect(dielectric permittivity(ε_(r))=3.35,dielectric loss(tanδ)=1.63×10−3@10 GHz,thermal conductivity(l)=0.74 W/m*k(90°C),coefficient of thermal expansion(a)=23.6ppm/°C and relative density(r)=99.72%).

With the gradual maturity of sequencing technology,many microbiome studies have published,driving the emergence and advance of related analysis tools.R language is the widely used platform for microbiome data analysis for powerful ***,tens of thousands of R packages and numerous similar analysis tools have brought major challenges for many researchers to explore microbiome *** to choose suitable,efficient,convenient,and easy-to-learn tools from the numerous R packages has become a problem for many microbiome *** have organized 324 common R packages for microbiome analysis and classified them according to application categories(diversity,difference,biomarker,correlation and network,functional prediction,and others),which could help researchers quickly find relevant R packages for microbiome ***,we systematically sorted the integrated R packages(phyloseq,microbiome,MicrobiomeAnalystR,Animalcules,microeco,and amplicon)for microbiome analysis,and summarized the advantages and limitations,which will help researchers choose the appropriate ***,we thoroughly reviewed the R packages for microbiome analysis,summarized most of the common analysis content in the microbiome,and formed the most suitable pipeline for microbiome *** paper is accompanied by hundreds of examples with 10,000 lines codes in GitHub,which can help beginners to learn,also help analysts compare and test different *** paper systematically sorts the application of R in microbiome,providing an important theoretical basis and practical reference for the development of better microbiome tools in the *** the code is available at GitHub ***/taowenmicro/EasyMicrobiomeR.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome （ARDS） is one of the leading death reasons in Intensive Care Unit （ICU）. It is frustrating that there is no pharmacotherapy effective enough to reduce the mortality of ARDS. The most important treatment of ARDS nowadays is supportive treatment, including mechanical ventilation （MV）, fluid management, and sedation. Successful trials of ARDS treatments usually aim to avoid further lung injury of ARDS patients, such as low tidal volume of MV and conservative fluid strategy. These strategies can only maintain the mortality around 40%.

Entanglement in quantum systems plays a crucial role in various quantum information tasks. Measuring entanglement has been an important issue in both experiments and theories. In this work, we use parameterized quantum circuits(PQCs) to diagonalize density matrices of quantum states and obtain entanglement by only measuring the diagonal elements. With this method, full quantum state tomography can be bypassed, greatly reducing the number of measurements. A comprehensive characterization of entanglement was performed by using Rényi entropy and partially transposed moments. Mutual information, calculated from entropy is also used to characterize dynamical quantum phase transitions. We experimentally demonstrated the method on a four-qubit nuclear magnetic resonance quantum simulator. Our results agree with the theoretical descriptions. The measurement complexity of our PQC-based method grows linearly with the number of diagonal elements in the density matrix, a square root reduction over the full quantum tomography. The proposed method can have great potential in quantum systems with a large number of particles.

This work demonstrates a novel polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte consisting of methyl methacrylate,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and fluoroethylene *** polymerization of MMA was initiated by the amino compounds following an anionic catalytic *** plays both roles including the initiator and Li ion source in the polymer ***,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide has difficulty in initiating the polymerization reaction of methyl methacrylate monomer,a very high concentration of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide is needed for initiating the ***,the fluoroethylene carbonate additive can work as a supporter to facilitate the degree of dissociation of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and increase its initiator capacity due to the high dielectric *** as-prepared poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymer electrolyte has a high ionic conductivity(1.19×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)),a wide electrochemical stability window(5 V vs Li^(+)/Li),and a high Li ion transference number(t_(Li^(+)))of 0.74 at room temperature(RT).Moreover,this polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte can effectively work as an artificial protective layer on Li metal anode,which enabled the Li symmetric cell to achieve a long-term cycling performance at 0.2 mAh cm^(−2)for 2800 *** LiFePO_(4)battery with polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte-modified Li metal anode shows a capacity retention of 91.17%after 800 cycles at 0.5 *** work provides a facile and accessible approach to manufacturing poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte and shows great potential as an interphase in Li metal batteries.

Background:Due to the outbreak and rapid spread of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),more than 160 million patients have become convalescents worldwide to *** alterations have occurred in the gut and oral microbiome and metabonomics of patients with ***,it is unknown whether their characteristics return to normal after the 1-year ***:We recruited 35 confirmed patients to provide specimens at discharge and 1 year later,as well as 160healthy controls.A total of 497 samples were prospectively collected,including 219 tongue-coating,129 stool and 149 plasma ***-coating and stool samples were subjected to 16S rRNA sequencing,and plasma samples were subjected to untargeted metabolomics ***:The oral and gut microbiome and metabolomics characteristics of the 1-year convalescents were restored to a large extent but did not completely return to *** the recovery process,the microbial diversity gradually *** acid-producing microbes and Bifidobacterium gradually increased,whereas lipopolysaccharideproducing microbes gradually *** addition,sphingosine-1-phosphate,which is closely related to the inflammatory factor storm of COVID-19,increased significantly during the recovery ***,the predictive models established based on the microbiome and metabolites of patients at the time of discharge reached high efficacy in predicting their neutralizing antibody levels one year ***:This study is the first to characterize the oral and gut microbiome and metabonomics in 1-year convalescents of *** key microbiome and metabolites in the process of recovery were identified,and provided new treatment ideas for accelerating *** the predictive models based on the microbiome and metabolomics afford new insights for predicting the recovery situation which benefited affected individuals and healthcare.

Experiment and analysis of the neutralization of the electron cyclotron resonance ion thruster

An electron cyclotron resonance ion thruster must emit an electron current equivalent to its ion beam current to prevent the thruster system from being electrically charged. This operation is defined as neutralization. The factors which influence neutralization are categorized into the ion beam current parameters, the neutralizer input parameters, and the neutralizer position. To understand the mechanism of neutralization, an experiment and a calculation study on how these factors influence thruster neutralization are presented. The experiment results show that the minimum bias voltage of the neutralizer was -60 V at the ion beam current of 80 mA for the argon propellant, and a critical gas flow rate existed, below which the coupling voltage increased sharply. Based on the experiment, the neutralization was analyzed by means of a onedimensional calculation model. The computation results show that the coupling voltage was influenced by the beam divergence and the negative potential zone near the grids.

Polyporus accommodates species with stipitate basidiocarps,a dimitic hyphal system with skeleto-binding hyphae,and hyaline,thin-walled,more or less cylindrical *** species of Polyporus are divided into six morphological groups,of which Melanopus is characterized by coriaceous basidiocarps,thin context and a black cuticle on the *** this study,we explore the phylogeny and species diversity of Polyporus sensu lato focusing on the group Melanopus based on global *** combined ITS and nLSU dataset included 117 collections represented by 117 ITS and 94 nLSU sequences,of which 43 ITS and 37 nLSU sequences were newly *** resulting phylogenetic analysis recovered four clades,Favolus,Neofavolus,Melanopus and Polyporellus clades,while several species in the morphological groups Melanopus and Polyporus were outside these *** with morphological evidence,three new species in the Melanopus clade,Polyporus americanus,*** and ***,are newly described and illustrated,and their distinctive characters are *** illegitimate name Polyporus fraxineus is renamed as Polyporus *** phylogeny and taxonomy of each species in group Melanopus(morphology)or Melanopus clade(phylogeny)and related species are briefly discussed.
