The galactomannan from Antrodia cinnamomea(AC)is characterized as one of the important bioactive components that exhibits potential immunostimulatory propriety.The biological function of its corresponding oligosaccharide fragments has not been revealed yet.In this study,we reported the first chemical synthesis of the series of oligosaccharide fragments related to AC galactomannan via the convergent glycosylation strategy.The preliminary immunological evaluation of these synthesized AC oligosaccharides disclosed that the backbone tetrasaccharide 1d showed the best immunomodulatory ability on enhancing proliferation,phagocytosis and cytokines secretion of Raw264.7 macrophages in vitro,indicating its immense potential as an immunostimulant candidate.

Background The superiority of balloon angioplasty plus aggressive medical management(AMM)to AMM alone for symptomatic intracranial artery stenosis(sICAS)on efficacy and safety profiles still lacks evidence from randomised controlled trials(RCTs).Aim To demonstrate the design of an RCT on balloon angioplasty plus AMM for sICAS.Design Balloon Angioplasty for Symptomatic Intracranial Artery Stenosis(BASIS)trial is a multicentre,prospective,randomised,open-label,blinded end-point trial to investigate whether balloon angioplasty plus AMM could improve clinical outcome compared with AMM alone in patients with sICAS.Patients eligible in BASIS were 35–80 years old,with a recent transient ischaemic attack within the past 90 days or ischaemic stroke between 14 days and 90 days prior to enrolment due to severe atherosclerotic stenosis(70%–99%)of a major intracranial artery.The eligible patients were randomly assigned to receive balloon angioplasty plus AMM or AMM alone at a 1:1 ratio.Both groups will receive identical AMM,including standard dual antiplatelet therapy for 90 days followed by long-term single antiplatelet therapy,intensive risk factor management and life-style modification.All participants will be followed up for 3years.Study outcomes Stroke or death in the next 30 days after enrolment or after balloon angioplasty procedure of the qualifying lesion during follow-up,or any ischaemic stroke or revascularisation from the qualifying artery after 30 days but before 12 months of enrolment,is the primary outcome.Discussion BASIS trail is the first RCT to compare the efficacy and safety of balloon angioplasty plus AMM to AMM alone in sICAS patients,which may provide an alternative perspective for treating sICAS.Trial registration number NCT03703635;https://www.***.gov.

In order to improve the properties of titanium alloys manufactured by laser melting deposition(LMD),the electroshocking treatment(EST)was proposed in this work.The effects of EST on microstructure and mechanical properties of LMD Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si were investigated.The results showed that the width of the heat affected band decreased and disappeared under the thermal and athermal effects of EST,resulting in the uniform microstructure.In the microstructure,theαlaths became coarser gradually,and the quantity ofα/βinterface was reduced.The reduction of the quantity ofα/βinterface leads to make less resistant to dislocation,resulting in the reduction in hardness and strength.The discontinuous grain boundaryαphase and nucleationαcolony near grain boundary inhibited the crack propagation and improved the ductility.Summary,EST can manipulate the microstructure and improve the mechanical properties of LMD titanium alloys.

Field reversed configuration(FRC)is widely considered as an ideal target plasma for magnetoinertial fusion.However,its confinement and stability,both proportional to the radius,will deteriorate inevitably during radial compression.Hence,we propose a new fusion approach based on axial compression of a large-sized FRC.The axial compression can be made by plasma jets or plasmoids converging onto the axial ends of the FRC.The parameter space that can reach the ignition condition while preserving the FRC's overall quality is studied using a numerical model based on different FRC confinement scalings.It is found that ignition is possible for a large FRC that can be achieved with the current FRC formation techniques if compression ratio is greater than 50.A more realistic compression is to combine axial with moderate radial compression,which is also presented and calculated in this work.

Ascorbate peroxidase(APX)is a crucial H2O2 scavenger that utilizes ascorbic acid as an electron donor and plays a significant role in plant stress resistance.This study aims to identify and characterize the Brassica napus L.APX gene family through genome and transcriptome sequencing,while also revealing their expression profile under low-temperature stress via transcriptome and proteome analysis.The results indicate the presence of 18 genes with three different conserved domains distributed in Brassica napus L.,which can be classified into three major branches based on phylogenetic analysis.Eleven members were predicted to have the low-temperature response component(LTR).Most APX genes exhibit up-regulated transcriptional expression under low temperature stress,particularly APX2,APX4,APX12,and APX18.In terms of proteomics data,only six members(APX2,APX4,APX8,APX12,APX17,and APX18)showed temporal specificity in their expression patterns.Therefore,this study provides valuable insights into the complexity of the APX family in the functional characterization of its genes for future research.

Smart construction of battery-type anodes with high rate and good mechanical properties is significant for advanced sodium ion capacitors(SICs).Herein,a flexible film consisting of MoO_(2) subnanoclusters encapsulated in nitrogen-doped carbon nanofibers(MoO_(2) SCs@N-CNFs)is designed and synthesized via electrospinning toward SICs as anodes.The strong N-Mo interaction guarantees the stable yet uniform dispersion of high loading MoO_(2) SCs(≈40 wt.%)in the flexible carbonaceous substrate.The sub-nanoscale effect of SCs restrains electrode pulverization and improves the Na+diffusion kinetics,rendering better pseudocapacitance-dominated Na+-storage properties than the nanocrystal counterpart.The MoO_(2) SCs@N-CNFs paper with mass loadings of 2.2–10.1 mg cm^(−2) can be directly used as free-standing anode for SICs,which exhibit high reversible gravimetric/areal capacities both in liquid and quasi-solid-state electrolytes.The assembled flexible SICs competitively exhibit exceptional energy density and cycling stability.More significantly,the sub-nanoscale engineering strategy here is promisingly generalized to future electrode design for other electrochemical energy-related applications and beyond.

为解决传统正交异性钢桥面疲劳开裂、铺装层破损难题,研究团队于2010年研发成功钢-UHPC轻型组合桥面体系,并在中国的钢桥上获得了规模化的应用。鉴于UHPC层大幅度提高了钢面板的局部刚度,为简化施工和降低造价,可对传统正交异性钢桥面进一步优化。为此,提出了型钢开口肋-UHPC轻型组合桥面结构,首次应用在某大跨度拱桥主梁结构中,以实桥为背景展开了桥面方案比选和有限元计算。在此基础上,进行了型钢组合桥面关键部位负弯矩条带静力试验,对UHPC裂缝进行观测和宽度验算;对型钢组合桥面抗疲劳性能做了计算与分析,并针对桥面纵横肋重要连接焊缝开展了负弯矩条带疲劳试验。研究结果表明:负弯矩区UHPC表现出优良的受弯拉韧性,抗拉强度是实桥应力的1.4倍;型钢组合桥面通过新型的纵横肋连接构造,将所有连接焊缝均置于低应力区,将非焊接型钢母材置于高应力区,以达到提高桥面抗疲劳能力目的,型钢组合桥面包含10个钢结构疲劳细节,所有疲劳细节计算应力幅均在常幅疲劳极限以下;型钢组合桥面纵横肋新型连接焊缝在设计疲劳应力幅下等效加载4840万次才发生疲劳破坏,疲劳强度满足实桥应用需求。综上表明,型钢组合桥面具有优良的静力与疲劳性能,加工制造简便,建设成本低,是一种具有竞争力的新型桥面方案。

Background and purpose Endovascular treatment(EVT)has shown an overwhelming benefit for acute anterior circulation artery occlusion(ACO).Whether it can achieve the same outcomes in posterior circulation artery occlusion(PCO)has not been well explained.We aimed to evaluate the characteristics and prognosis of ACO and PCO after EVT in a nationwide registry.Method The present analysis was based on the prospective ANGEL-ACT Registry in China between November 2017 and March 2019.Demographic data,periprocedural times,recanalisation rate,intracranial haemorrhage(ICH)and 90-day functional outcomes were compared between the ACO and PCO groups.Results A total of 1793 patients were analysed including 397(22.1%)consecutive patients with PCO and 1396(77.9%)patients with ACO treated with EVT.A larger proportion of patients with PCO had intracranial atherosclerotic disease and received extra angioplasty during EVT.Successful recanalisation and 90-day favourable functional outcomes did not differ significantly between the two groups.Patients with PCO showed lower 24-hour ICH and symptomatic ICH rates.There was a trend towards higher mortality rate in the PCO group(22.09%vs 14.44%;adjusted OR 1.286(95%CI 0.820 to 2.017),p=0.2731),especially when the onset to puncture time was over 6 hours(30.77%vs 11.13%;adjusted OR 2.673(95%CI 1.280 to 5.583),p=0.0089,interactive p=0.0002).Conclusions In this large prospective multicentre registry,there was a significant difference in the characteristics and periprocedural features between patients with PCO and ACO.However,successful recanalisation and 90-day favourable functional outcomes in PCO were equivalent to those in ACO.

The conversion of CO_(2) into fuels and valuable chemicals is one of the central topics to combat climate change and meet the growing demand for renewable energy.Herein,we show that the formate dehydrogenase from Clostridium ljungdahlii(ClFDH)adsorbed on electrodes displays clear characteristic voltammetric signals that can be assigned to the reduction and oxidation potential of the[4Fe-4S]^(2+/+)cluster under nonturnover conditions.Upon adding substrates,the signals transform into a specific redox center that engages in catalytic electron transport.ClFDH catalyzes rapid and efficient reversible interconversion between CO_(2) and formate in the presence of substrates.The turnover frequency of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction is determined as 1210 s^(-1) at 25℃ and pH 7.0,which can be further enhanced up to 1786 s^(-1) at 50℃.The Faradaic efficiency at−0.6 V(vs.standard hydrogen electrode)is recorded as 99.3%in a 2-h reaction.Inhibition experiments and theoretical modeling disclose interesting pathways for CO_(2) entry,formate exit,and OCN−competition,suggesting an oxidation-state-dependent binding mechanism of catalysis.Our results provide a different perspective for understanding the catalytic mechanism of FDH and original insights into the design of synthetic catalysts.
