Injectable“cocktail”hydrogel with dual-stimuli-responsive drug release,photothermal ablation,and drug-antibody synergistic effect

The combination of the first-line standard chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin hydrochloride(DOX)and the molecular-targeted drug Herceptin(HCT)has emerged as a promising strategy for human epidermal growth receptor 2(HER-2)overexpressing breast cancer ***,insufficient drug accumulation and severe cardiotoxicity are two major challenges that limit its clinical ***,an in situ forming gold nanorods(AuNRs)-sodium alginate(ALG)hybrid hydrogel encapsulating DOX and HCT was engineered for tumor synergistic therapy involving injectable,dual-stimuli-responsive drug release,photothermal ablation,and drug-antibody synergistic *** photothermal agent AuNRs,anticancer drug DOX,and anticancer antibody HCT were mixed in ALG solution,and after injection,the soluble ALG was quickly transformed into a hydrogel in the presence of Ca^(2+)in the ***,the hybrid hydrogel exhibits an extremely high photothermal conversion efficiency of 70%under 808 nm laser *** thermal effect can also provide photothermal stimulation to trigger the drug release from the gel *** addition,the drug release rate and the releasing degree are also sensitive to the *** vitro studies demonstrated that the PEI-AuNR/DOX/HCT/ALG hydrogel has facilitated the therapeutic efficiency of each payload and demonstrated a strong synergistic killing effect on SK-BR-3 *** vivo imaging results showed that the local drug delivery system can effectively reduce the nonspecific distribution in normal tissues and increase drug concentration at tumor *** proposed hydrogel system shows significant clinical implications by easily introducing a sustainable photothermal therapy and a potential universal carrier for the local delivery of multiple drugs to overcome the challenges faced in HER-2 overexpressing cancer therapy.

Microscopic Analysis of Cementitious Sand and Gravel Damming Materia

The mechanical properties of cementitious sand and gravel damming material have been experimentally determined by means of microscopic SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy)image *** results show that the combination of fly ash and water can fill the voids in cemented sand and gravel test blocks because of the presence of hydrated calcium silicate and other substances;thereby,the compactness and mechanical properties of these materials can be greatly *** every 10 kg/m^(3) increase in the amount of cementitious material,the density increases by about 2%,and the water content decreases by 0.2%.The amount of cementitious material used in the sand and gravel in these tests was 80-110 kg/m^(3),the water-binder ratio was ***,the splitting tensile strength was 1/10 of the compressive strength,and the maximum strength was 7.42 MPa at 90 *** optimal mix ratio has been found to be 50 kg of cement,60 kg of fly ash and 120 kg of water(C50F60W120).The related dry density was 2.6 g/cm^(3),the water content was 6%,and the water-binder ratio was 1.09.

OCTA characteristics in non-arteritic central retinal artery occlusion and correlation with visual acuity

AIM:To observe the retinal and choroidal circulations in patients with non-arteritic permanent central retinal artery occlusion(NA-CRAO)via optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)and analyze their correlation with visual ***:Sixty-two eyes with clinically confirmed acute NA-CRAO were included in the study and divided into:A type(mild n=29),B type(moderate n=27)and C type(severe n=6)based on the degree of visual loss,retinal edema,and arterial blood flow delay in fundus fluorescence angiography(FFA).Contralateral healthy eyes were used as the control ***-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),slit lamp microscopy,indirect ophthalmoscopy,fundus color photography,OCTA,and FFA were ***’s correlation analysis was used to determine the correlations between retinal and choroidal vessels and visual ***:There were no statistically significant differences in age,gender,and intraocular pressure among the three types and the control group(P>0.05).Vessel density in deep capillary plexus(VD-DCP)significantly decreased(Pxus(VD-SVP)significantly decreased(P<0.05)in type A patients and choriocapillaris flow area significantly decreased(P<0.05)in type B and type C patients compared to the control group;while outer retinal flow areas significantly increased in the type A(P<0.05)and decreased in type C patients(P<0.05).The retinal thickness significantly increased in type C group(P<0.05).The VD-SVP at fovea in the type A was significantly lower than both of type B and *** VD-SVP at nasal parafovea in type A and B was significantly lower than type C(P<0.05).The logMAR BCVA of type A was significantly better than that of type B and C groups(P<0.05).Spearman’s correlation analysis showed that the logMAR BCVA was positively correlated with VD-SVP at fovea(r=0.679,P=0.031)and nasal parafovea(r=0.826,P=0.013).CONCLUSION:OCTA is valua

Human pose estimation is a basic and critical task in the field of computer vision that involves determining the position(or spatial coordinates)of the joints of the human body in a given image or *** is widely used in motion analysis,medical evaluation,and behavior *** this paper,the authors propose a method for multi-view human pose *** image sensors were placed orthogonally with respect to each other to capture the pose of the subject as they moved,and this yielded accurate and comprehensive results of three-dimensional(3D)motion reconstruction that helped capture their multi-directional *** this,we propose a method based on 3D pose estimation to assess the similarity of the features of motion of patients with motor dysfunction by comparing differences between their range of motion and that of normal *** converted these differences into Fugl–Meyer assessment(FMA)scores in order to quantify ***,we implemented the proposed method in the Unity framework,and built a Virtual Reality platform that provides users with human–computer interaction to make the task more enjoyable for them and ensure their active participation in the assessment *** goal is to provide a suitable means of assessing movement disorders without requiring the immediate supervision of a physician.

Schistosoma infection is one of the major causes of liver *** roles of hepatic progenitor cells(HPCs)in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis have been ***,the precise mechanism underlying the role of HPCs in liver fibrosis in schistosomiasis remains *** study examined how autophagy in HPCs affects schistosomiasis-induced liver fibrosis by modulating exosomal *** activation of HPCs was verified by immunohistochemistry(IHC)and immunofluorescence(IF)staining in fibrotic liver from patients and mice with Schistosoma japonicum *** coculturing HPCs with hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)and assessing the autophagy level in HPCs by proteomic analysis and in vitro phenotypic assays,we found that impaired autophagy degradation in these activated HPCs was mediated by lysosomal *** autophagy by the autophagy inhibitor chloroquine(CQ)significantly diminished liver fibrosis and granuloma formation in ***-infected ***-secreted extracellular vehicles(EVs)were further isolated and studied by miRNA ***-1306-3p,miR-493-3p,and miR-34a-5p were identified,and their distribution into EVs was inhibited due to impaired autophagy in HPCs,which contributed to suppressing HSC *** conclusion,we showed that the altered autophagy process upon HPC activation may prevent liver fibrosis by modulating exosomal miRNA release and inhibiting HSC activation in *** the autophagy degradation process may be a therapeutic strategy for liver fibrosis during Schistosoma infection.

The Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source(SLEGS,located in BL03SSID)beamline at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF)is a Laser Compton Scattering(LCS)gamma source used for the investigation of nuclear structure,which is in extensive demand in fields such as nulear astrophysics;nulear cdluster structure,polarization physics;and nulear energy The beamline is based on the inverse Compton scattering of 10640 nm photons on 3.5 GeV electrons and a gamma source with va riable energy by changing the scattering angle frorm 20°to 160°.γrays of 0.25-21.1 MeV can be extracted by the scheme consisting of the interaction chamber,coarse collinator,fine collimator,and *** maximum photon flux for 1800 is approximately 10^(7)photons/s at the target at 21.7 MeV,with a 3-mm-diameter *** beamline was equipped with four types of spectrometers for experiments in(Y,Y'),(7,n),(Y,D),and(7,0).At present,Nuclear Resonance Fluorescence(NRF)spectrometry,Flat-Efficiency neutron Detector(FED)spectrometry,neutron Time-OF Flight(TOF)spectrometry,and Light-Charged Particle(LCP)spectrormetry methods have been developed.

Influence of tungsten particle size on microstructure and mechanical properties of high strength and tough tungsten particle-reinforced nickel-based composites by laser-direct energy deposition

Tungsten(W)particle-reinforced nickel(Ni)-based composites were fabricated via laser-direct energy de-position(L-DED).The influence of the W particle size on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the deposited samples was systematically *** results indicate that refining the W particle size could refine theγ-Ni grains and subgrains,thin the(Ni,Cr)_(4)W interface layer,and increase the disloca-tion density of the intergranular matrix,thus improving the tensile strength and elongation of the L-DED *** W particle size decreased from 75 to 150μm to 6.5-12μm,the tensile strength and elonga-tion of the deposited samples increased by 150 MPa and 2.9 times to 1347.6±15.7 MPa and 17.5±0.4%,*** on the properties of the interface(Ni,Cr)_(4)W,a load-transfer efficiency factor suitable for this composite was proposed and the load-transfer strengthening formula was optimized.A quanti-tative analysis of the strengthening mechanisms was established considering load-transfer strengthening,Hall-Petch strengthening,thermal-mismatch strengthening,and solid-solution *** calcu-lated contribution of each strengthening mechanism to the yield strength and theoretical calculations were in good agreement with the experimental *** article breaks the bottleneck of poor plasticity of W particle-reinforced Ni-based composites prepared by L-DED and provides a theoretical basis for the construction design of W particle-reinforced Ni-based composites with excellent mechanical properties.

The interaction between electrons and matter is an effective means of light emission,through mechanisms including Cherenkov radiation and Smith–Purcell radiation(SPR).In this study,we show that the superlight inverse Doppler effects can be realized in reverse Smith–Purcell radiation excited by a free electron beam with a homogeneous *** particular,we find that two types of anomalous SPR exist in the homogenous substrate:special SPR and reverse *** results reveal that the electron velocity can be tuned to simultaneously excite different combinations of normal SPR,special SPR,and reverse *** proposed manifold light radiation mechanism can offer greater versatility in controlling and shaping SPR.

Astrometric Observations of NEA 1998 HH49 Using the Daocheng 50 cm Telescope

This study details an astrometric observation campaign of the Near-Earth Asteroid 1998 HH49, conducted with the aim of refining our understanding of its physical characteristics. Utilizing the 50 cm telescope located at the Wumingshan Mountain in Daocheng, Sichuan, images were obtained over four nights, from 2023 October 19 to October 22. These observations were processed using Astrometrica software, facilitating the precise determination of the asteroid's position. The observational results were compared with the ephemerides from three distinct sources to verify accuracy: the Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL) Horizons System, the Institut de Mécanique Céleste et de Calcul des éphémérides(IMCCE) Miriade, and the Near-Earth Objects Dynamic Site(NEODyS-2).When compared with the JPL ephemeris, a mean observed-minus-calculated(O-C) result of 0.''07 in the *** and-0.''35 in the decl. direction was yielded. Furthermore, the comparison with the IMCCE ephemeris yielded mean O-C results of 0.''08 in the R.A. direction and-0.''06 in the decl. direction. The comparison with the NEODyS-2 ephemeris yielded the mean O-C results of 0.''06 in R.A. and-0.''49 in decl. direction. The study's findings demonstrate a general consistency between the observed data and the ephemeris predictions, with minor discrepancies observed across the data sets. Notably, both the JPL and NEODyS-2 ephemerides show that the residuals in the decl. direction exceed those in the R.A. direction. The disparities may result from atmospheric differential color refraction, ephemeris discrepancies, observational errors, and other factors. Additionally, it is worth noting that further investigation is required due to the potential influence of additional factors. Overall, the Daocheng 50 cm Telescope exhibits the ability to conduct high-precision positional measurements.
