Anionic covalent organic framework electrolyte with tailored ion channels for high-areal-capacity solid-state lithium metal battery

Covalent organic frameworks（COFs） are an emerging class for solid-state electrolytes due to their ordered and customizable ion transport nanochannels. Although high ionic conductivity(σLi+) and Li+transference number(tLi+) are achieved, the high-arealcapacity solid-state lithium metal battery（LMB） still encountered challenges, which is mainly determined by homogeneous Li+flux through channels and interfaces. Herein, we design a COF coupling anionic skeletons with branched ion-conductive chains（COF-S） as tailored fast ion-transport channels to achieve high-areal-capacity solid-state LMB. Then the dispersed COF-S-based electrolyte is further obtained by incorporating ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate（ETPTA） and LiFSI（ETPTA-COF-S）via in situ light solidification. In this way, the abundant SO-3groups promote Li+adsorption and facilitate axial transport via 1D channels, thus enabling high σLi+of 1.29 mS cm-1and tLi+of 0.83. The branched chains can tailor ion channels to suppress largesize anions transport, disperse and uniform Li+flux, thus leading to high average Coulombic efficiency（CE） up to 98.43 % for100 cycles（～800 h） at 0.5 mA cm-2under the high areal capacity of 2 mAh cm-2. When paired with 2 mAh cm-2LiFePO4（LFP）cathode and thin Li anode of 20 μm, Li||ETPTA-COF-S||LFP exhibits superior cyclic stability for 80 cycles.

Malondialdehyde levels in diabetic retinopathy patients:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Sarcopenia adversely impacts clinical outcomes in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Tissue distribution of deoxynivalenol in piglets following intravenous administration

Contamination of deoxynivalenol（DON） in grains is common worldwide and pigs are particularly susceptible to this mycotoxin. The distribution of DON in porcine tissues following intravenous administration was investigated in this study. Fifteen pigs were randomly divided into three groups. Animals in groups A and B were administrated with DON at the dose of 250 and 750 μg kg–1 body weight, respectively, while group C served as blank control. Plasma, bile and 27 tissues were collected at 30 min post-administration. DON concentrations in all samples were tested using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry（HPLC-MS/MS）. To observe the distribution of DON in tissues, these samples were further subjected to the immunohistochemical analyses. Totally, the bile and 13 tissues were sampled for DON-based detection, including kidney, mesenteric lymph nodes, muscle, stomach, jejunum, colon, plasma, spleen, rectum, cecum, liver, ileum, and duodenum. No significant difference was observed for the concentrations of DON in duodenum, ileum and liver samples between groups A and B; while the DON concentrations in cecum and rectum of group B were significantly higher（P-value 〈0.05） than those in group A. In addition, the DON concentrations in stomach, jejunum, colon, mesenteric lymph nodes, muscle, kidney, spleen, bile, and plasma of group B were remarkably higher than those of group A（P-value〈0.01）. Levels of DON in other 14 tissues including medulla oblongata, midbrain, diencephalon, pons, tip and tongue body, tongue, soft palate, tonsils, pharyngeal mucosa, oral buccal mucosa, thymus, thyroid, esophagus and adrenal gland were all below the limit of detection. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that 11 tissue samples（medullaoblongata, tonsil, adrenal medulla, thyroid gland, thyroid, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, kidney, spleen, and mesenteric lymph nodes） were positive and DON was mainly distributed around blood vessels in these tissues. Impact of physical activity on health-related quality of life in osteoporotic and osteopenic postmenopausal women:A systematic review

Objective:This meta-analysis included papers which evaluated the effects of physical activity on the health-related quality of life(HRQoL)of osteoporotic and osteopenic postmenopausal ***:Four English databases were searched for relevant randomized clinical trials(RTCs)published from 1970 to June,*** RCTs which used the Quality of Life Questionnaire of the European Foundation for Osteoporosis(QUALEFFO)as their outcome measure were selected for ***:Five RCTs were included in the final *** results showed that physical activity produced favorable effects in the HRQoL domains of physical function(p=0.001)and pain(p=0.01),but not in other *** with a single exercise,combined exercise produced more favorable effects on both physical function(p=0.0004)and pain(p=0.02).Short-term physical activity produced significant favorable results in all general health domains of HRQoL(p=0.01),whereas middle-term physical activity produced significant improvements only in the physical function(p<0.01)domains of ***-term physical activity produced significant improvement only in the pain domains of HRQoL(p<0.01),and only in the physical activity group when compared with a control ***:Only weak evidence supports the notion that physical activity effectively improves the health-related quality of life of osteoporotic and osteopenic postmenopausal *** with a single exercise,combined exercise produced favorable effects on both physical function and ***,different lengths of exercise produced improvements in different domains.

No genetic causal relationship between tea intake and diabetes:a two-sample Mendelian randomization study

Background:Previous studies have suggested a potential risk-reducing effect of tea intake(TI)on ***,the specific impacts of TI on different types of diabetes and its underlying mechanisms remain *** further explore this topic,we conducted a comprehensive investigation to assess the causal relationship between TI and various types of diabetes,as well as its effects on blood glucose(Glu)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1).Methods:We collected genome-wide association study data for TI,diabetes,type 1 diabetes(T1D),type 2 diabetes(T2D),Glu,HbA1,green tea intake,herbal tea intake,and Rooibos tea intake from the IEU ***,we performed two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis using the TwoSampleMR ***:Our analysis revealed no evidence of a causal relationship between TI and the incidence of diabetes,T1D,blood Glu,HbA1c,or ***,no genetic causal relationship was found between green tea intake and diabetes,T1D,T2D,Glu,or *** same applied to herbal tea intake and Rooibos tea intake,as there was no genetic causal link with diabetes,T1D,T2D,Glu,or ***:Based on our findings,there is no indication of a causal relationship between TI and the incidence of all types of diabetes,regardless of the specific tea ***,to comprehensively understand the potential effects of TI on diabetes incidence,including the quantity and timing of intake,further evaluation through additional Mendelian randomization studies is warranted.

Ocular surface changes in type II diabetic patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy

AIM: To detect and analyze the changes on ocular surface and tear function in type II diabetic patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR), an advanced stage of diabetic retinopathy(DR), using conventional ophthalmic tests and the high-resolution laser scanning confocal ***: Fifty-eight patients with type II diabetes were selected. Based on the diagnostic criteria and stage classification of DR, the patients were divided into the non-DR(NDR) group and the PDR group. Thirty-six patients with cataract but no other ocular and systemic disease were included as non-diabetic controls. All the patients were subjected to the conventional clinical tests of corneal sensitivity, Schirmer I test, and corneal fluorescein staining. The non-invasive tear film break-up time(NIBUT) and tear interferometry were conducted by a Tearscope Plus. The morphology of corneal epithelia and nerve fibers was examined using the high-resolution confocal ***: The NDR group exhibited significantly declined corneal sensitivity and Schirmer I test value, as compared to the non-diabetic controls(P <0.001). The PDR group showed significantly reduced corneal sensitivity, Schirmer I test value, and NIBUT in comparison to the non-diabetic controls(P <0.001).Corneal fluorescein staining revealed the progressively injured corneal epithelia in the PDR patients. Moreover,significant decrease in the corneal epithelial density andmorphological abnormalities in the corneal epithelia and nerve fibers were also observed in the PDR ***: Ocular surface changes, including blunted corneal sensitivity, reduced tear secretion, tear film dysfunction, progressive loss of corneal epithelia and degeneration of nerve fibers, are common in type II diabetic patients, particularly in the diabetic patients with PDR. Objective To investigate the prevalence and possible factors influencing metabolic syndrome in people from Guizhou Province and to explore the predictive value of the fat-to-muscle ratio in diagnosing metabolic syndrome. Methods A multistage stratified sampling method was used in this cross-sectional study of 20-80 years old Han and Bouyei populations from Guizhou Province, southwestern China, from October-December 2012. The study included 4,553 cases of metabolic syndrome, that was defined according to 2005 International Diabetes Federation criteria. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used for determining the sensitivity, specificity, and predictive ability of the fat-to-muscle ratio for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome. Results The age-standardized prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 11.38%（men： 9.76%; women： 12.72%） for Han and 4.78%（men： 4.43%; women： 5.30%） for Bouyei populations. In Guizhou Province, the cut-off value for the men fat-to-muscle ratio was 0.34, the area under the curve was 0.95, and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.94 and 0.85, respectively. The cut-off value for the women fat-to-muscle ratio was 0.55, the area under the curve was 0.91, and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.93 and 0.79, respectively. Conclusion The fat-to-muscle ratio is highly predictive of metabolic syndrome in Guizhou Province, and a useful reference indicator.

Left jackknife position:a novel position for laparoscopic hepatectomy

Background: Laparoscopic hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) located in segment Ⅵ, Ⅶ, or Ⅷ of the liver is usually difficult because of poor operative exposure, due to the unique anatomical structure. In this study, we evaluated the practice of laparoscopic hepatectomy with the left jackknife position for patients with HCC located in segment Ⅵ, Ⅶ, or Ⅷ.Methods: A total of 10 patients were enrolled to undergo laparoscopic hepatectomy with the left jackknife *** located in segment Ⅵ, Ⅶ, or Ⅷ were assessed by preoperative dynamic computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative fasting time, postoperative drainage time, major postoperative complications, and duration of postoperative hospital stay were ***: All surgeries were successfully completed.
