A comparative study of fuzzy weights of evidence and random forests for mapping mineral prospectivity for skarn-type Fe deposits in the southwestern Fujian metallogenic belt, China

Recent studies have pointed out that the widespread iron deposits in southwestern Fujian metallogenic belt(SFMB)(China) are skarn-type deposits associated with the Yanshanian granites. There is still excellent potential for mineral exploration because large areas in this belt are covered by forest. A new predictive model for mapping skarn-type Fe deposit prospectivity in this belt was developed and focused on in this study, using five criteria as evidence:(1) the contact zones of Yanshanian granites(GRANITE);(2) the contact zones within the late Paleozoic marine sedimentary rocks and the carbonate formations(FORMATION);(3) the NE-NNE-trending faults(FAULT);(4) the zones of skarn alterations(SKARN); and(5) the aeromagnetic anomaly(AEROMAGNETIC). The fuzzy weights of evidence(FWof E) method, developed from the classical weights of evidence(Wof E) and based on fuzzy sets and fuzzy probabilities, could provide smaller variances and more accurate posterior probabilities and could effectively minimize the uncertainty caused by omitted or wrongly assigned data and be more flexible than the Wof E. It is an efficient and widely used method for mineral potential mapping. Random forests(RF) is a new and useful method for data-driven predictive mapping of mineral prospectivity method, and needs further scrutiny. Both prospectivity results respectively using the FWof E and RF methods reveal that the prediction model for the skarn-type Fe deposits in the SFMB is successful and efficient. Both methods suggested that the GRANITE and FORMATION are the most valuable evidence maps, followed by SKARN, AEROMAGNETIC, and FAULT. This is coincident with the skarn-type Fe deposit mineral model in the SFMB. The unstable performance experienced when FORMATION was omitted might indicate that the highest uncertainty and risk in follow-up exploration is related to the sequences. Simultaneously enhanced electrochemical performance and air stability of Ni-rich cathode with a modified washing process

Water washing has been regarded as one of the most effective strategies to remove surface residual lithium of nickel-rich layered oxides for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the loss of lattice lithium during the water washing process deteriorates the electrochemical performances and air ***,washing the LiNi_(0.90)Co_(0.05)Al_(0.02)O_(2)(NCA) with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate(NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4)) solution has been proposed to simultaneously enhance electrochemical performances and air stability,in which in-situ generated Li_(3)PO_(4) coating layer on surface of NCA can suppress the loss of lattice ***,as a fast ionic conductor,Li_(3)PO_(4) coating layer on NCA can prevent the direct contact with electrolyte/*** a result,the NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4) solution washed NCA cathode can deliver a high capacity of131.9 mAh·g^(-1) at 10.0C rate as well as impressive cycle stability with a capacity retention of 83.1% after 100 cycles at 1.0C,much higher than those of water washed NCA(WS-NCA) *** exposed in air for 7 days,the NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4) solution washed NCA electrode can more effectively maintain the structural integrity as well as the electrochemical performances than water-washed *** work provides a simple and effective approach to enhance the cycle stability and air stability of Nickel-rich cathode materials.

Vibration attenuation performance of wind turbine tower using a prestressed tuned mass damper under seismic excitation

With the rapid development of large megawatt wind turbines,the operation environment of wind turbine towers(WTTs)has become increasingly *** particular,seismic excitation can create a resonance response and cause excessive vibration of the *** investigate the vibration attenuation performance of the WTT under seismic excitations,a novel passive vibration control device,called a prestressed tuned mass damper(PS-TMD),is presented in this ***,a mathematical model is established based on structural dynamics under seismic ***,the mathematical analytical expression of the dynamic coefficient is deduced,and the parameter design method is obtained by system tuning ***,based on a theoretical analysis and parameter design,the numerical results showed that the PS-TMD was able to effectively mitigate the resonance under the harmonic basal ***,the time-history analysis method is used to verify the effectiveness of the traditional pendulum tuned mass damper(PTMD)and the novel PS-TMD device,and the results indicate that the vibration attenuation performance of the PS-TMD is better than the *** addition,the PS-TMD avoids the nonlinear effect due to the large oscillation angle,and has the potential to dissipate hysteretic energy under seismic excitation.

A Semiparametric Additive-multiplicative Rates Model for the Weighted Composite Endpoint of Recurrent and Terminal Events

Recurrent event data are commonly encountered in many scientific fields,including biomedical studies,clinical trials and epidemiological surveys,and many statistical methods have been proposed for their *** this paper,we consider to use a weighted composite endpoint of recurrent and terminal events,which is weighted by the severity of each event,to assess the overall effects of covariates on the two types of events.A flexible additive-multiplicative model incorporating both multiplicative and additive effects on the rate function is proposed to analyze such weighted composite event process,and more importantly,the dependence structure among the recurrent and terminal events is left *** the estimation,we construct the unbiased estimating equations by virtue of the inverse probability weighting technique,and the resulting estimators are shown to be consistent and asymptotically normal under some mild regularity *** evaluate the finite-sample performance of the proposed method via simulation studies and apply the proposed method to a set of real data arising from a bladder cancer study.

Antarctic krill Euphausia superba plays a key role in the Antarctic food *** trophic linkage between krill and other macro-organisms has been studied in the past decades,but the variability of parasites in krill is less studied and remains poorly ***,it is important to understand the factors that influence abundance and infection of parasites in ***,the relationship between the infection intensity of parasite and krill diet needs to be clarified,which is helpful for understanding the role of parasite in the food *** investigated the abundance of the highly prevalent gregarine parasites in the digestive tract of krill and the factors influencing the gregarine infection to krill in the East *** infection rate of Cephaloidophora pacifica Avdeev,1985 to krill(n=50 individuals)was 94%.The results of generalized linear model show the infection intensity of *** to the host was related significantly to the station,krill size,and maturity stage,but not the food species and abundance in the stomach of *** of *** in krill differed among stations,and the lowest abundance occurred in the station nearest to the *** abundance varied among sexual maturity stages of krill and increased with krill size.

A simple route for preparation of TRIP-assisted Si-Mn steel with excellent performance using direct strip casting

The complex producing procedures and high energy-consuming limit the large-scale production and application of advanced high-strength steels(AHSSs).In this study,the direct strip casting(DSC)technology with unique sub-rapid solidification characteristics and cost advantages was applied to the production of low-alloy Si-Mn steel with the help of quenching&partitioning(Q&P)concept to address these *** this method with the conventional compact strip production(CSP)process,the initial microstructure formed under different solidification conditions and the influence of heat treatment processes on the final mechanical properties were *** results show that the initial structure of the DSC sample is a dual-phase structure composed of fine lath martensite and bainite,while the initial structure of the CSP sample consists of pearlite and *** volume fraction and carbon content of retained austenite(RA)in DSC samples are usually higher than those in CSP samples after the same Q&P *** samples typically demonstrate better comprehensive mechanical properties than the CSP *** DSC sample partitioned at 300℃ for 300 s(DSC-Pt300)achieves the best comprehensive mechanical properties,with yield strength(YS)of 1282 MPa,ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of 1501 MPa,total elongation(TE)of 21.5%,and product of strength and elongation(PSE)as high as 32.3 GPa·%.These results indicate that the excellent mechanical properties in low-alloy Si-Mn steel can be obtained through a simple process(DSC-Q&P),which also demonstrates the superiority of DSC technology in manufacturing AHSSs.

Effect of tungsten carbide particles on microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu alloy composite bit matrix

Copper alloy composite bit matrix was prepared by pressureless vacuum infiltration,using at least one of the three kinds of tungsten carbide particles,for example,irregular cast tungsten carbide,monocrystalline tungsten carbide and sintered reduced tungsten carbide *** effects of powder particle morphology,particle size and mass fraction of tungsten carbide on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper alloy composite were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and abrasive wear test in *** results show that tungsten carbide morphology and particle size have obvious effects on the mechanical properties of copper alloy *** tungsten carbide partially dissolved in the copper alloy binding phase,and layers of Cu_(0.3)W_(0.5)Ni_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)C phase with a thickness of around 8–15μm were formed on the edge of the cast tungsten *** 45%irregular crushed fine cast tungsten carbide and 15%monocrystalline cast tungsten carbide were used as the skeleton,satisfactory comprehensive performance of the reinforced copper alloy composite bit matrix was obtained,with the bending strength,impact toughness and hardness reaching 1048 MPa,4.95 J/cm^(2) and 43.6 HRC,*** main wear mechanism was that the tungsten carbide particles firstly protruded from the friction surface after the copper alloy matrix was worn,and then peeled off from the matrix when further wear occurred.
