This study aimed to reveal how amoxicillin（AMX） affected the microbial community and the spread mechanism of antibiotic resistance genes（ARGs） in the AMX manufacture wastewater treatment system. For this purpose, a 1.47 L expanded granular sludge bed（EGSB） reactor was designed and run for 241 days treating artificial AMX manufacture wastewater. 454 pyrosequencing was applied to analyze functional microorganisms in the system. The antibiotic genes OXA_（-1）, OXA_（-2）, OXA_（-10）, TEM_（-1）, CTX-M_（-1）, class I integrons（intI1） and 16 SrRNA genes were also examined in sludge samples. The results showed that the genera Ignavibacterium, Phocoenobacter,Spirochaeta, Aminobacterium and Cloacibacillus contributed to the degradation of different organic compounds（such as various sugars and amines）. And the relative quantification of eachβ-lactam resistance gene in the study was changed with the increasing of AMX *** the vertical gene transfer was the main driver for the spread of ARGs rather than horizontal transfer pathways in the system.

Two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides （WS2 and SnS2） have recently joined the family of energy storage materials （for lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors） as a result of their favorable ion intercalation. So far, challenges in the synthesis of phase-pure WS2, restacking between WS2 nanosheets, low electronic conductivity, and the brittle nature of WS2, severely limit its use Li-ion battery application. Herein, we develop a facile low temperature solution sulfuration process to improve battery performance dramatically. The sulfuration process is demonstrated to be effective in converting WO3 impurities to WS2, and in repairing the sulfur vacancies, to improve cyclability and rate capability. Lithium-ion battery measurements demonstrate that the stable capacity of the WS2 anode could be enhanced by 48.4% via sulfuration reprocessing, i.e., from 381.7 to 566.8 rnAh/g at a relatively high current density of 0.8 A/g after 50 cycles. We further show that the sulfuration process can be readily extended to other dichalcogenides, and may provide a class of versatile electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries with improved electrochemical characteristics.

The growth in biomedical data resources has raised potential privacy concerns and risks of genetic information leakage. For instance, exome sequencing aids clinical decisions by comparing data through web services, but it requires significant trust between users and providers. To alleviate privacy concerns, the most commonly used strategy is to anonymize sensitive data. Unfortunately, studies have shown that anonymization is insufficient to protect against reidentification attacks. Recently, privacy-preserving technologies have been applied to preserve application utility while protecting the privacy of biomedical data. We present the PICOTEES framework, a privacy-preserving online service of phenotype exploration for genetic-diagnostic variants (https://***:3000/). PICOTEES enables privacy-preserving queries of the phenotype spectrum for a single variant by utilizing trusted execution environment technology, which can protect the privacy of the user's query information, backend models, and data, as well as the final results. We demonstrate the utility and performance of PICOTEES by exploring a bioinformatics dataset. The dataset is from a cohort containing 20,909 genetic testing patients with 3,152,508 variants from the Children's Hospital of Fudan University in China, dominated by the Chinese Han population (>99.9%). Our query results yield a large number of unreported diagnostic variants and previously reported pathogenicity.

Aiming at the problem of unsatisfactory effects of traditional micro-expression recognition algorithms,an efficient micro-expression recognition algorithm is proposed,which uses convolutional neural networks(CNN)to extract spatial features of micro-expressions,and long short-term memory network(LSTM)to extract time domain *** and LSTM are combined as the basis of micro-expression *** many CNN structures,the visual geometry group(VGG)using a small convolution kernel is finally selected as the pre-network through *** to the difficulty of deep learning training and over-fitting,the dropout method and batch normalization method are used to solve the problem in the VGG *** data sets CASME and CASME II are used for test comparison,in order to solve the problem of insufficient data sets,randomly determine the starting frame,and a fixedlength frame sequence is used as the standard,and repeatedly read all sample frames of the entire data set to achieve trayersal and data ***.a hieh recognition rate of 67.48% is achieved.

Human experts cannot efficiently access physical information of a quantum many-body states by simply "reading"its coefficients, but have to reply on the previous knowledge such as order parameters and quantum *** demonstrate that convolutional neural network(CNN) can learn from coefficients of many-body states or reduced density matrices to estimate the physical parameters of the interacting Hamiltonians, such as coupling strengths and magnetic fields, provided the states as the ground states. We propose QubismNet that consists of two main parts: the Qubism map that visualizes the ground states(or the purified reduced density matrices) as images, and a CNN that maps the images to the target physical parameters. By assuming certain constraints on the training set for the sake of balance, QubismNet exhibits impressive powers of learning and generalization on several quantum spin models. While the training samples are restricted to the states from certain ranges of the parameters, QubismNet can accurately estimate the parameters of the states beyond such training regions. For instance, our results show that QubismNet can estimate the magnetic fields near the critical point by learning from the states away from the critical vicinity. Our work provides a data-driven way to infer the Hamiltonians that give the designed ground states, and therefore would benefit the existing and future generations of quantum technologies such as Hamiltonian-based quantum simulations and state tomography.

The biliary tract, portal vein, and systemic circulation are the anatomical linkages that enable bidirectional inter-organ communications through the gut–liver axis.(Han et al. 2023). Under physiological conditions, the proliferation of intestinal stem cells(ISCs) materializes the self-renewal of the intestinal epithelium for gut barrier integrity(van der Flier and Clevers 2009), and such crosstalk contributes to the repair capacity of the intestinal tract by accommodating the ISCs(Chen et al.2022; Hegyi et al. 2018). Nonetheless, in pathological conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),the compromised intestinal barrier caused by inflammation increases the translocation of microorganisms(Wigg et al. 2001).

The increasing demand for computation requires the development of energy-efficient logic devices with reduced dimensions. Owing to their atomic thickness, 2D semiconductors are expected to provide possible solutions at the sub-1 nm technology node. Furthermore, taking advantage of the van der Waals nature, the low-temperature back-end of line integration with silicon may occur in the near future. In this perspective, vital progress in material synthesis, device engineering, and integration technologies toward integrated circuits based on 2D materials is reviewed. The challenges and important milestones on the roadmap for the next decade toward the fab adoption of 2D materials are outlined. Particularly, performance,power, area, cost, and equipment for further technology development in this area are proposed as key metrics and enablers.

The Physiological and Molecular Responses of Exogenous Selenium to Selenium Content and Fruit Quality in Walnut

To study the effect of exogenous selenium on fruit quality in walnut(Juglans regia L.),8-year-old walnut(Qingxiang)was taken as the research *** the fruit expansion stage,300 mg/L of sodium selenate,yeast selenium and sodium selenite solutions were applied on the leaf of walnut,and the selenium levels in leaves,pericarp and kernel were determined at the ripening *** fruit quality,mineral nutrient content,antioxidant enzyme activity,and related genes’expression were *** results showed that the three exogenous selenium increased the selenium levels in leaves,pericarp and kernel of *** also significantly increased fruit and kernel weights,and kernel linoleic acid,but markedly decreased kernel crude fat and saturated fatty *** spraying promoted the absorption of mineral nutrients such as potassium and zinc,but inhibited the absorption of calcium,and had no significant effect on iron and magnesium in the *** exogenous selenium increased the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),and catalase(CAT)significantly in the *** for sodium selenate treatment significantly reduced malondialdehyde(MDA)content in the kernel,the other two selenium sources treatments had no significant effect on MDA and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)*** also increased the expression of JrCu/Zn-SOD,Jr2-Cys POD,JrCyt-APX and JrCAT in kernel,to different *** implies that,in the walnut fruit enlargement period,the foliar spraying selenium could increase the selenium content of walnut,affect the mineral nutrient absorption,improve the antioxidant capacity and related genes’expression,and reduce the degree of peroxide,and then improve the quality of ***,yeast selenium showed the comprehensive effect of the best.

Synergistic cytotoxicity of binary combinations of inorganic and organic disinfection byproducts assessed by real-time cell analysis

Chlorine, chlorine dioxide, and ozone are widely used as disinfectants in drinking water treatments. However, the combined use of different disinfectants can result in the formation of various organic and inorganic disinfection byproducts(DBPs). The toxic interactions, including synergism, addition, and antagonism, among the complex DBPs are still unclear. In this study, we established and verified a real-time cell analysis(RTCA) method for cytotoxicity measurement on Chinese hamster ovary(CHO) cell. Using this convenient and accurate method, we assessed the cytotoxicity of a series of binary combinations consisting of one of the 3 inorganic DBPs(chlorite, chlorate, and bromate) and one of the 32 regulated and emerging organic DBPs. The combination index(CI) of each combination was calculated and evaluated by isobolographic analysis to reflect the toxic interactions. The results confirmed the synergistic effect on cytotoxicity in the binary combinations consisting of chlorite and one of the 5 organic DBPs(2 iodinated DBPs(I-DBPs) and 3 brominated DBPs(Br-DBPs)), chlorate and one of the 4 organic DBPs(3 aromatic DBPs and dibromoacetonitrile), and bromate and one of the 3 organic DBPs(2 I-DBPs and dibromoacetic acid). The possible synergism mechanism of organic DBPs on the inorganic ones may be attributed to the influence of organic DBPs on cell membrane and cell antioxidant system. This study revealed the toxic interactions among organic and inorganic DBPs, and emphasized the latent adverse outcomes in the combined use of different disinfectants.
