Ancient mitochondrial genome depicts sheep maternal dispersal and migration in Eastern Asia

Sheep have been one of the most important groups of animals since ancient ***,the knowledge of their migration routes and genetic relationships is still poorly *** investigate sheep maternal migration histories alongside Eurasian communications routes,in this study,we obtain mitochondrial genomes(mitogenomes)from 17 sheep remains in 6 Chinese sites and 1 Uzbekistan site dated 4429–3100 years before present(BP).By obtaining the mitogenomes from the sheep(4429–3556 BP)found in the Tongtian Cave site in Xinjiang,Altai region of northwest China,our results support the emergence of haplogroup C sheep in Xinjiang as early as 4429–3556 *** combined phylogenetic analyses with extant ancient and modern sheep mitogenomes suggest that the Uzbekistan-Altai region may have been a migration hub for early sheep in eastern *** least two migration events have taken place for sheep crossing Eurasia to China,one passing by Uzbekistan and Northwest China to the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River at approximately 4000 BP and another following the Altai region to middle Inner Mongolia from 4429 BP to 2500 ***,this study provides further evidence for early sheep utilization and migration patterns in Eastern Asia.

Maize ZmSRO1e promotes mesocotyl elongation and deep sowing tolerance by inhibiting the activity of ZmbZIP61

There are stillchallenges in applying drug nanocarriers for in situ sustained macrophage targeting and regulation,due to the rapid clearance of nanocarriers and burst drug release ***,a nanomicellehydrogel microsphere,characterized by its macrophage-targeted nanosized secondary structure that allows it to accurately bind to M1 macrophages through active endocytosis,is employed for in situ sustained macrophage targeting and regulation,and addresses the insufficient osteoarthritis therapeutic efficacy caused by rapid clearance of drug *** 3-dimensional structure of a microsphere can prevent the rapid escape and clearance of a nanomicelle,thus keeping it in joints,while the ligand-guided secondary structure can carry drugs to accurately target and enter M1 macrophages,and release drugs via the transition from hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity of nanomicelles under inflammatory stimulation inside the macrophages.

Evaluating the use of three-dimensional reconstruction visualization technology for precise laparoscopic resection in gastroesophageal junction cancer

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic gastrectomy for esophagogastric junction(EGJ)carcinoma enables the removal of the carcinoma at the junction between the stomach and esophagus while preserving the gastric function,thereby providing patients with better treatment outcomes and quality of ***,this surgical technique also presents some challenges and ***,three-dimensional reconstruction visualization technology(3D RVT)has been introduced into the procedure,providing doctors with more comprehensive and intuitive anatomical information that helps with surgical planning,navigation,and outcome *** To discuss the application and advantages of 3D RVT in precise laparoscopic resection of EGJ *** Data were obtained from the electronic or paper-based medical records at The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from January 2020 to June 2022.A total of 120 patients diagnosed with EGJ carcinoma were included in the *** these,68 underwent laparoscopic resection after computed tomography(CT)-enhanced scanning and were categorized into the 2D group,whereas 52 underwent laparoscopic resection after CT-enhanced scanning and 3D RVT and were categorized into the 3D *** study had two outcome measures:the deviation between tumor-related factors(such as maximum tumor diameter and infiltration length)in 3D RVT and clinical reality,and surgical outcome indicators(such as operative time,intraoperative blood loss,number of lymph node dissections,R0 resection rate,postoperative hospital stay,postoperative gas discharge time,drainage tube removal time,and related complications)between the 2D and 3D *** Among patients included in the 3D group,27 had a maximum tumor diameter of less than 3 cm,whereas 25 had a diameter of 3 cm or *** actual surgical observations,24 had a diameter of less than 3 cm,whereas 28 had a diameter of 3 cm or *** findings were consistent between the two methods(χ^(2)=0.346,P=0.556),w

Whispering gallery mode(WGM)optical microcavities,which are capable of light field confinement and manipulation in a relatively small volume,have gained considerable attention from fundamentals in enhanced light-matter interactions to laser applications[1].Undergoing decades of development,the improvement of lasing performance is always a significant issue,including low threshold and high quality(Q)factor[2].Increasing optical gain and reducing the losses are the key aspects towards the realization of a high-quality WGM laser.A perfect cavity structure and a smooth surface are the most crucial determinants to reduce optical losses and enhance light field confined abilities.

Expanding the optical communication band is one of the most effective methods of overcoming the nonlinear Shannon capacity limit of single *** this study,GeSn resonance cavity enhanced(RCE)photodetectors(PDs)with an active layer Sn component of 9%–10.8%were designed and fabricated on an SOI *** GeSn RCE PDs present a responsivity of 0.49 A/W at 2μm and a 3-dB bandwidth of approximately 40 GHz at 2μ***,Si-based 2μm band optical communication with a transmission rate of 50 Gbps was demonstrated by using a GeSn RCE *** work demonstrates the considerable potential of the Si-based 2μm band photonics in future high-speed and high-capacity optical communication.

A visual analysis approach for data imputation via multi-party tabular data correlation strategies

Low-modal-crosstalk doped-fiber amplifiers in few-mode-fiber-based systems

Independent light propagation through one or multiple modes is commonly considered as a basic demand for mode manipulation in few-mode fiber（FMF）-or multimode fiber（MMF）-based optical systems such as transmission links, optical fiber lasers, or distributed optical fiber sensors. However, the insertion of doped-fiber amplifiers always kills the entire effort by inducing significant modal crosstalk. In this paper, we propose the design of doped-fiber amplifiers in FMF-based systems adopting identical multiple-ring-core（MRC） index profiles for both passive and doped fibers to achieve low modal crosstalk. We develop the direct-glass-transition（DGT） modified chemical vapor deposition（MCVD） processing for precise fabrication of few-mode erbium-doped fibers（FM-EDFs） with MRC profiles of both refractive index and erbium-ion doping distribution. Then, a few-mode erbium-doped-fiber amplifier（FM-EDFA） with a maximum gain of 26.08 dB and differential modal gain（DMG） of 2.3 dB is realized based on fabricated FM-EDF matched with a transmission FMF supporting four linearly polarized（LP） modes. With the insertion of the FM-EDFA, 60 + 60 km simultaneous LP01∕LP11∕LP21∕LP02transmission without inter-modal multiple-input multiple-output digital signal processing（MIMO-DSP） is successfully demonstrated. The proposed design of low-modal-crosstalk doped-fiber amplifiers provides, to our knowledge, new insights into mode manipulation methods in various applications. ? 2024 Chinese Laser Press
